“After reviewing the facility (lobby and room), I did not stay here. I was lucky to be able to find other accommodations in the area. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 15, 2006 by
Robert from Warren, OH
“We have stayed at this Hotel in the past and it was marginal at best. This stay however was deplorable. The front desk displays a sign that reads we no longer have a pool, a restaurant or a fitness center. The elevator, which is incredibility loud, displayed a sign that ice is available at the front desk for $1.49 for a 7lb bag. There are no vending or ice machines in the hotel. The common areas were dirty and in need of repair. The high speed Internet managed 2 bars at best. The front desk also displayed a sign that indicated free parking if you booked with the hotel at a surface lot, but if you booked on line you had to pay $11 per night to park in the garage. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 12, 2006 by

“Hated It.” Aug 5, 2006 by
Lane from Elk Grove Village, IL
“The hotel is rated as a 2.5 star but should not even receive a 1-star rating. It was a terrible experience! I hope that no one else out there has to experience this hotel.” Jul 11, 2006 by
Sarab from Plymouth, MI
“This hotel was definitely not worth $75. It was totally empty, we thought we were the only guests there .The room was dingy and dirty, the bedding very uncomfortable. There were signs that there was no longer a pool, fitness area, or restaurant. For $75 I expect at least to have a continental breakfast offered. I was very disappointed with this hotel and do not recommend it.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 10, 2006 by
Paula from Farmington, UT
“This hotel was rated 3 stars. It was a low 2 star at best. The hallways are dark and dingy, the ice machines were missing on most floors, and the entire hotel needs to be cleaned.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 9, 2006 by
Harry from Ira, MI
“The wallpaper is peeling in the elevator, hallway, and in the rooms. The view was alright if the windows were replaced, the rooms smelled musty, the air conditioner was loud, there was no drain in tub, the floors were dirty, there were no pop machines on floors, pool was closed for 6 months, and more. This was so bad, that we went to another motel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 5, 2006 by

“Disgusting, would never recommend to anybody.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 29, 2006 by

“The room was dusty and not equipped with what they said it would be. had to ask twice for the towels and coffee maker.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 26, 2006 by
Jim from Bellevue, OH
“The person at the desk was not friendly. There was no advanced notice about a $11 parking fee for the hotel!! I met my wife there and we had to pay $22 to park for a $50 room!! I am not happy about that! This info needs to be available BEFORE booking the room. This hotel in no way compared to the other hotels listed as 2 1/2 stars. I would stay at the Courtyard or Residence Inn any day over the Hotel Seagate.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 22, 2006 by
Taggart from Delaware, OH
“The hotel is run down and needs to be renovated. It is fine if you just want a bed to sleep in. We were not told about a parking fee and the pool was not open. The shower/tub did not drain properly and the television stations were very limited.” Jun 21, 2006 by
Rebekah from Wayland, MI
“Although conveniently located, I was not impressed. The hotel looked like it had not seen any up-keep for years, and although it was clean, had a shabby impression.” Jun 21, 2006 by
Marty from Tallmadge, OH
“Better than I expected. Owners seem to be interested in renovating the hotel to the level it needs to be. Would have rated higher if pool was open. Friendly, accommodating staff. This hotel should be considered a two-star until pool/restaurant renovations are complete in OCT.” Jun 16, 2006 by
Leonda from Erie, MI
“This place was awful. I was very disappointed. The rooms are old and out of date. Elevators were dirty. There was not a working ice machine in the entire building. Hallways were not air conditioned. The night was a disaster. ” Jun 14, 2006 by
John B. from Fort Wayne, IN
“The room had a smell, we noticed food on the floor under the furniture. The 19th floor which had the pool was tapped off and closed. We stayed at this hotel 1-1/2 years ago and the pool was being remodeled then also. We quickly realized that we could not stay. ” Jun 12, 2006 by
Leigh from Woodstock, IL
“Overall appearance of hotel was dirty and old. No air conditioning in lobby or corridors. Hotel is very worn down. Staff seemed disinterested in satisfaction of customers and were unprofessional in dress and actions. Quality of linens and bedding was poor. Pillows smelled dirty and hair was visible on sheets and pillows. Cleanliness of room was VERY poor. Used washcloths, soap, and shampoo left in shower. Excessive hair visible on floor behind bathroom door. Nail clippings, ashes, etc. on floor between beds and in corners of room. Overall, a huge disappointment.” Jun 4, 2006 by
Tony from Chicago, IL
“The Hotel Seagate is at best a 2 star hotel and that's a stretch. The room decor looks like it dates back to the early eighties. No cable TV in the room. No ice machine on our floor. No AC in the lobby on a day where the temperature was in the 90s. This place is a dive. The hotel is being remodeled so if you are feeling lucky you might want to give them a try later this year, but I would rather stay in a Motel 6.” Jun 2, 2006 by
Pamela from Washington, DC
“Carpet filthy, rooms smelled, bedding dirty, did not stay after attempting to check out another room and it was in the same condition.” May 31, 2006 by
Jessica from Northwood, OH
“I would never stay there again. The staff upon check in and check out was very rude and not at all polite. When we entered the hotel, it was 90 degrees and there was no air conditioning in the lobby thankfully there was in the room. That was the only good thing about our room. We ordered a non-smoking room and although there was a sign posted saying that the room had been cleaned for non-smoking visitors, it was clear by the smell that other visitors had smoked in the room. There were only a few channels available on the TV (probably 7), and there was a piece of chewed gum stuck to the headboard. The ceiling above the shower also looked disgusting.” May 31, 2006 by
Christina from Williams Bay, WI
“We have stayed at the Seagate twice now, neither time was extraordinarily pleasant; however, some of the rooms have a nice view of the river and it is in a central location. The hotel is old and in need of maintenance.” May 17, 2006 by
Craig from Fort Wayne, IN
“This hotel was plain awful. Was told I was getting a 2.5 star quality hotel and it was worse than a motel. Rooms had trash in them, chairs broke, heater broke, pool closed, restaurant closed. This hotel in no way should be rated at 2.5 stars.” May 13, 2006 by
Dave from Seattle, WA
“The staff moved us 3 different times, the first time to rooms that weren't made up, then to rooms that only had 1 bed when we had repeatedly told them we needed two. there was trash in the room, looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, and only 5 channels worked on the TV. Stay away. Hotel staff completely uncooperative.” May 12, 2006 by
Raza from Niles, IL
“This is my horrible experience in my life. Defiantly motel is better-than this. The experiences starts when I was moving towards room elevator was so dirty and stinky, In room carpet was so dirty, air-conditioner not working, bathroom ah no soap bar's, no water bottle's no glass for water I called to room service they provide me two disposable glass, No TV cable on TV u can just listen radio, however I'll recommend everyone with bad luck if you got that hotel ' try another otherwise your trip will be horrible.” May 9, 2006 by
Earlene from Flint, MI
“The bed, room, ironing board, bathroom, pillows, towels are very poor in quality. Smoke detector literally hanging off the wall. The three television channels lacked proper reception and picture quality. I would not stay there again, and would not recommend to anyone. On a scale of 1-10, I'd rate it a 2 simply because of location.” May 9, 2006 by
Bernadette from Gahanna, OH
“This was a really bad experience for us. The pool was unavailable, there was no ice, there were only 5 TV channels, I couldn't get a strong enough signal for my laptop. The shower head was so outdated that no matter what it sprayed the curtain and flooded the bathroom. There was an empty roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. No room service. The whole hotel smelled kind of a like a wet dog. You have to walk through a convention center to get to the hotel from their parking and there is no valet available. No room service and the heater/ac didn't work in our room.” May 2, 2006 by
Craig from Pullman, WA
“There were several things wrong with this hotel. There were three elevators, one of which was broke during my entire three-day stay. There were signs indicating vending an ice machines on alternate floors, but they were only located in the lobby and I stayed on the 10th floor. The "Executive Center" did not have computers, so Internet access without a laptop was not possible. I never saw a maid during my stay. I had a used towel and soap in my room when I arrived. The garbage had not been thoroughly cleaned from my room. When I checked out, the printer was broken, so I was unable to obtain a receipt. The hotel was located in a neighborhood where I did not feel safe going out at night. Also, there were several side entrances to the hotel left open at late hours where access the hotel did not require going through a lobby or having a key. ” May 1, 2006 by
Michelle from Gary, IN
“I was terrified through out my entire stay. The hotel was dirty, unkempt and I felt threatened enough that I could not have dinner at night because that would involve leaving the room and that was not a possibility after dark. I would like to have a personal response to this survey. I can be reached at 219-902-9570” Apr 23, 2006 by
Jinen from Irving, TX
“Quiet rundown. Need complete makeover.” Feb 9, 2006 by
Jason from South Park, PA
“Overall the hotel was really nice, the only thing I didn't like was having to pay for parking. It's nice cause it's under the hotel, but I don't like paying for parking.” Dec 4, 2005 by
John from Great Falls, VA
“In is a rundown hotel.” Sep 30, 2005 by
Sam from Whitehall, MI
“Beautiful view of the Maumee river in downtown Toledo. Very dated hotel in desperate need of TLC. Go to the Wyndham. Its tons better for the same price.” Sep 25, 2005 by
Deborah from Fort Wayne, IN
“I called the day of arrival to re confirm our late arrival and our room types. I was assured that what we needed would be waiting (2 non-smoking because of 2 kids with asthma and rooms next to each other). Upon arrival, they did not have our rooms and no other of the same type were available. The gal at the desk (an excellent employee!) did a lot of manuvering and gave us a non smoking suite on one floor and a second reg. room on another floor. Both rooms, as well as the hall were very dirty. (We cleaned them ourselves, then declined having them in our rooms.) The only ice available was from the front desk. There was no air conditioning in the hall. Felt around 100 degrees. There was a unit that was vented into the hall, blowing in heat.We were on the 18th floor and sometimes had to wait 10 minutes for the elevator. We literally dripped waiting. I heard later that the hotel was going into bankruptcy. It was evident, no money was being used for upkeep and repairs.” Sep 16, 2005 by
Alan from Goodyear, AZ
“The location is great. Poorly maintained, needs up dating, restaurant great to be on the top floor, to bad, the windows are dirty, can't see the view. ” Feb 2, 2005 by
Jennifer from Union, KY
“This hotel was in a good downtown location, but lacked the visual ammenities of most moderate to higher rated properites we've secured. The rooms were very clean and the staff rate excellent. This still didn't make up for the outdated carpet, small and unattractive lobby, and walls in need of new paint and repair. This hotel was a disappointment visually. Since I travel a LOT, the visual appeal is as important to me as the staff and cleanliness of a hotel.”
