• centrally located to everything needed; clean and comfortable; biker friendly which is a plus!
• Room could be alittle bigger and would have liked a microwave and frig

“Staff was very friendly and efficient; we had a stopped up sink and lightbulbs out and it was fixed w/in a few hours; we had a truck w/a trailer and when we took the truck out and came back other guests even though told not to, parked in front of our trailer; the hotel staff was very gracious and found the person and had them move their vehicle right away.”

• The breakfasts were great and so was the steam sauna.
• The pool was small.

“The first thing I noticed was the log lodge style decor, which was gorgeous. The public pool area was very relaxing, including a hot tub and steam sauna (great for sinus sufferers like me). The best part was the quiet. Not until checkout time did I meet the two boys that had been staying in the hall in a room directly across from ours. They were, perhaps, ten and twelve. We had never heard a peep from them, or anyone else all night!”

• Room was decent.
• Room was loud, poor performance of staff, seemed overpriced.

“I stayed over the 4th of July weekend. Although the room was decent, you could hear a lot of noise from the dining area and the staff was unhelpful as items had to be requested multiple times before being delivered. Overall the hotel was ok, but was not a good for the money. I would likely stay elsewhere in the future.”

• The hotel was quiet and clean and the staff was very helpful.
• Hard to find at first.

“The hotel is clean and quiet, and we loved the pool. Our 2-year-old was too short for the shallow end (3'6" shallow end), but there were stairs she liked playing on. The breakfast (waffles, biscuits/gravy, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, donuts, toast) was great, and the area is kept clean. Two minor problems: 1) Construction in the area made the hotel hard to find our first day and 2) The maids rely quiet heavily on the note cards-on-the-door system. If you don't hang out the "Do Not Disturb" card, they'll be banging on your door first thing in the morning. And if you don't hang out the "We've left, please clean our room" card, your room won't be cleaned until later in the afternoon. But those are minor things. We liked the helpful, friendly staff, the closeness to the various sites, and we found the hotel to be clean and quiet. Definitely recommend.”

• Comfortable bed, quiet clean spacious attractive room, lovely pool area.
• TV could be bigger. We would appreciate later breakfast hours.

• The breakfasts were wonderful. I loved the temp of the pool - not cold.

“I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It met all of my expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool hours are great plus the temp of the pool was awesome, I was able to take my grandson in the pool for his first time.”

• The room was cold and took 4 hours to warm up.

“Everything was great except there had been no heat on and it was very cold in the room. It took 4 hours to warm it up to near 70.”

• American had a very good breakfast, friendly service and a very warm kid friendly pool. Just what we were looking for!
• The beds were way too soft I had too slept on the floor one night of our 3 night stay.

“This American was a great hotel for our family. This was our first major vacation and we were looking forward to having a good time for a good price and this was it. The rooms were alright and the front desk was very friendly. The breakfast was more than I expected. Although it was the same everyday, they had a good selection. The pool was a bit on the small side, but it was very warm which was great for our 6 year old son! I would, and have already, recommend this American to my friends.”

• The breakfast was great. The room was cleaned every day.
• It was a little hard to find. It was on a frontage road.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff was very helpful in telling us about the sites to see around the area. It was close to a mall.”

• Very clean laundry fact. bike wash and friendly staff.
• The price, maybe a little less, not much more, and needs a fridge/micro in the room.

“We really liked this hotel and over our 2 week vacation, (we stayed in 8 other hotels in other states), American was definitely the best hotel. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, good fresh breakfast and we liked having the laundry fact. Available.”

• Continental breakfast was very good. Nice lobby area. Close to local attractions.
• Cleanliness of room was questionable. Room seemed humid and sheets were damp.

“Aside from the humidity level in the room, our stay was pleasant. This hotel was appropriately located within the proximity of attractions that we were exploring.”

• The front desk attendant was so friendly. He helped us with directions and was always helpful!

“My girls and I had such fun in the Jacuzzi suite. They wanted to swim in there every chance they could. They really enjoyed the pool area as well. The continental breakfast was fantastic! Very good service all around.”
