“We needed a place to stay while moving out of our campus apartment at Princeton. Although it was further away from the campus than we thought, it was a great place to stay. The room was big, spacious and room service was reasonably priced as far as room service goes.”

• The fitness center was very nice. It had brand new equipment.
• The hotel wanted to charge me $10 per night for a refigerator. I thought that was ridiculous.

“Overall, this is a good hotel. It was a little farther out than I had hoped for. I was visiting family in Trenton NJ, and this hotel was about 12 miles away. I would have preferred to be closer to Trenton.”

• Comfortable rooms with great gym and business center and courteous staff.
• I was very impressed and have nothing bad to say.

“This was an excellent hotel. From the fresh cookie at check in, to the excellent room, to the well designed gym it was a great experience. Great choice if you are visiting Princeton or the surrounding area. I have stayed in various fancy hotels, but this one was just better. No extravagances, but simple, practical, and comfortable. The staff was great too.”

• The hotel was clean with a subtle decor. The location was excellent for travel back and forth to Manhattan, NY by train.
• The carpet was outdated and the room was a little dusty.

“This hotel is excellent for the price. The staff was courteous and informative. The rooms were fairly clean but a little dusty under close inspection. The shuttle to the train and bus station was great for transportation to and from Manhattan. We were unable to take advantage of the shuttle to the local outlets. The restaurant was nice but the breakfast buffet was not worth the price. I would recommend for travel for couples and families touring New York City and Liberty Island. Also close to Princeton University and Six Flags, NJ.”

• The room was large, linens seemed extra fresh and clean, staff friendly.
• Restaurant was not welcoming, charged $1.50 for coffee in the lobby.

“Our room was large and comfortable, with enough chairs, generous nightstands, desk, etc. Bed was comfortable, bath clean, linens good. I liked the complimentary toiletries, including spf lotion. Lots of free newspapers, but you have to find them yourself in the lobby. Don't know why this hotel then goes on the cheap and charges $1.50 for a cup of coffee from the carafes in the lobby?”

• The renovations were luxurious.
• The hotel staff was sarcastic and not courteous and not knowledgeable.

“Hotel was great, they even made an exception for us in the dining area when closing time was 10 pm we arrived at 9:40 pm and they still let us in for a full sit down dinner. The wait staff was very nice. The problem I had with this hotel was one of the staffers checking us in, was very sarcastic to a fellow traveler in his response to her when she questioned him regarding the hotel charges. He directed us to a wrong turn in the hotel and just wasn't very good with checking us in. His information was not accurate in more ways than one.”

• Friendly staff and free, warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in!

“The hotel has just undergone renovations so some things were still being fixed or not yet entirely fixed in our room. Our main door wouldn't open at first so maintenance had to be called to fix the lock and then we discovered that our bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way, like the door was too big for the door jam or something. These incidents didn't take away from our stay, just minor inconveniences.”

• The bed, the site, having a mini kitchen was the ultimate.
• It was far from where I had to go (hour).

“Recently, I stayed in several hotels. The one in Princeton stood out from all the others. It was more than I anticipated. It simply was "PERFECT".”

“The areas of this hotel which were open for use were pleasant enough. No working street sign or visible address on us1 made it hard to find in the dark. The pool, restaurant and two floors of rooms were all closed for remodeling. The complimentary continental breakfast was not good.”

“Hotel is undergoing renovation. Consequently no king smoking rooms were available. Dumpster was outside room window and debris in chute awakened us before 8 am the first day. The next day housekeeping woke us around 8:30.”

• Hair in the shower and wallpaper falling down and rude staff.

“This hotel was a disappointment. From the person at the front desk that would not acknowledge us to the 8 pieces of hair found in the shower. The wallpaper was coming down in the room and the hallway. There was no working ice machine in the building. The sink was dirty and was missing the drain stopper. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Just was very dirty and would not stay there again. Too many other choices in the area to stay at this bad of a hotel.”

• No food. Dirty lobby. Run down. No water in gym. Staff does not care about guests.

“This hotel has nothing to offer except cover on your head. Gym has not been serviced for ages. There was no water for us to drink. I forgot my key purse in the hotel. I had to call three times. The staff did not call back even when promised. They did not find the keys and I am in deep trouble. They failed to provide simplest directions. Even when they were given, the directions were incorrect.”

“The hotel falsely advertises itself as a Double Tree Inn. It is not. The hotel had wallpaper peeling off the walls. The hallways were dark. The front door of the hotel was broken and the front entry smelled of a clogged sewer pipe.”

“They are renovating this hotel, but will not be done until fall. The hotel is shabby and the rooms are old. The ice machine didn't work, nor did the lock on the door. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• There were a great deal of wonderful amenities such as a pool.
• There were a lot of mechanical problems and the dining staff was very rude.

“I had to change rooms three times due to mechanical problems. At 7 am, I woke up to the sound of drills upstairs. The hotel was okay but I don't know if I would ever stay again.”

• No heat in swimming pool, all of us got sick, and we missed the breakfast by 5 min, they didn't take us at 10:25, because they close at 10:30.

• It was well appointed, had nice decor, clean.
• Not near any restaurants or stores, poor transportation to airport, no info about local services, no telephone book in room. Very inconvenient.

“The staff was friendly but not helpful in finding transportation or providing information. The hotel is not located close to anything. It might as well be in a howling wilderness. There is no transportation other than taxis to anything. Taxis are hard to find. There was no phone book in the room. The staff did not provide taxi numbers. No local information of any kind available. It was most difficult to get from the Newark airport to this hotel.”

• The hotel offered ample parking.
• The hotel was dirty and dated.

“On approaching the hotel the property and grounds appear well maintained, with ample parking and easy access to the facility. However the buildings interior lacked the same charm. On first inspection the lobby was dirty and scantly decorated. The front desk staff was rude and combative. After witnessing the patron in front of me in line have her request to have her room cleaned before she moved in be belligerently dismissed by the staff, I decided that my best strategy for an uneventful stay was to keep my mouth shut. The room itself was dirty and dated. The furniture had numerous cigarette burns, despite being a non-smoking room. Although the bed was not a sleep number bed as advertised and was quite firm it served it's purpose. The TV remote did not work, but was replaced with-in a day. The bathroom tub and tile was stained and the tub did not drain well, but there was plenty of hot water available. Finally the exercise room consisted of 4 dumbbells and two treadmills. I have to question the ranking of 3 stars. Based on my experience I would rate the facility 1 1/2 to 2 stars at best.”

• I liked the sleep number bed.
• The front door was broken for the entire length of my stay. A decent room requires a $10 per night up charge.

“Shabby run-down hotel with surely employees. Fitness center is empty except for the old mattresses they store there. Rooms are dull and uncomfortable. Paying the up charge to get a sleep number room is a necessity.”

• Nothing, I have been very disappointed with this hotel.

“I have stayed at this hotel several times, each time I have had problems. For example, I ordered breakfast that was not delivered. I was once assigned to a room with no heat in the winter. Then in the summer, I was assigned to a room with no air conditioning. I was also assigned to a room that they were making repairs on. Several times, lights were blown out, broken clocks, or irons that don't work. This time it took them over an hour to get a remote control for the TV, which wouldn't work without it. I could go on and on. ”

“Overrated. The staff were friendly, but the lobby was incredibly poor. The check-in desk staff had to wear coats and gloves because cold air was coming in from the front door and could not be prevented. There was no snack bar or moderately priced food available. It took three attempts to get a suitable room. Again, however, I want to stress that the staff was friendly. The computer system they were using froze (as did the staff itself). We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott the prior week, and it was much better.”

“Poor quality hotel, dimly lit, no wireless internet as advertised, and no sleep comfort be as advertised. Comforter on bed smelled like sour milk. Desk help was not helpful, and seemed miffed we wanted a room without a moldy ceiling, go figure. Overall I'd stay away - bid a bit more and stay at the Weston down the street.”

• The staff was very friendly and courteous. It was in a good location for stores and resturants.
• The pool area needed more seats. The air conditioner units were loud. No king rooms were available.

“The hotel was ok, but not what I would consider a 3 star hotel. The lobby was sparse, the rooms were not decorated pleasingly, it just wasn't plush at all.”
