“The noise form the highway was incrediable, I could even hear it when using my CPAP machine. Room was not comfortable, poor lighting. Difficult to get into and out of from the highway.” Oct 14, 2009 by
Caroline from Atlanta,GA
“Excellent service & very nice new remodeled rooms. I was surprised at the low price compared to other hotels!” Sep 23, 2009 by
Nicole from Augusta,GA
“I was very impressed with the staff member who checked me in. He took the time to explain that my credit card was just being run for incidental expenses and that the room was already paid for through Priceline. This courtesy is rarely found.” Aug 31, 2009 by
Tobi from Mississauga,Canada
“Easy access to Biltmore just off the highway. The rooms were excellent in cleanliness and quite new. They have just renovated and the rooms looked much like a boutique.” Aug 25, 2009 by
Mike from Garner,NC
“Clean, good location, good food.” Aug 24, 2009 by
Faye from Lamar,SC
“We were amazed at the quality of the hotel considering the price. It was also located quite conveniently. After having read other reviews, we were not expecting much in the way of breakfast;however, we found the breakfast to be quite good with a wide choice of food items. Only brief encounters with the staff but they were most helpful and pleasant.Overall, it was the biggest bargain in lodging that we have encountered in a long time.” Aug 18, 2009 by
Michael from Fort Wayne,IN
“The hotel was a nice place to stop for an overnight stay. We enjoyed the room very much.” Aug 11, 2009 by
Lori from Normal,IL
“This was a great hotel close to the Biltmore and was so clean, the breakfast was all you needed to start your day, great place.” Aug 9, 2009 by
Carolyn from White Marsh,MD
“No problems, met expectations, good breakfast and comfortable beds.” Aug 5, 2009 by
Bryan from Knoxville,TN
“Great experience overall. Inconvenient for longer than 1-2 nights because there is no microwave to reheat food. Great location and very clean.” Jul 13, 2009 by
Doug from Little Elm,TX “Nice hotel, but the entrance was a little awkward, through the Texas Roadhouse parking lot.” Jun 16, 2009 by
Christy from West Milton,OH
“The hotel was over all nice for the star rating, decent location, although the driveway was steep. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were small but clean, good for an overnight stay, but not a lengthy stay. The restaurant next door was great! You can get a 10% off coupon validated at the front desk. Overall not a bad stay.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Ruth from Hayesville, NC
“We wanted a room close to Mission Hospital for my husband to have test early the next morning. We had a 2 hour drive to Asheville. The room was very acceptable.” Jun 1, 2008 by
James from Alexandria, VA
“Very convenient to Biltmore Village, cheap, good for stopping through for a night but pretty basic. Need earplugs to get good sleep, as the walls are thin.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Chad from Kingstree, SC
“The hotel has a great location. Having a restaurant next door was great. Front desk rep team was less than polite. No empathy or sympathy for our situation when we arrived and when asked about the receipt he was very condescending and rude.” Mar 24, 2008 by
James from Elizabethton, TN
“The Good: Comfortable firm bed, nice towels, good central location between Biltmore and downtown. The Bad: Very noisy if your room faces the road, nearly everything in the room was falling apart (wallpaper peeling off, room door wouldn't latch without slamming it, bathroom door very difficult to open/close because it drug the floor, mold in the shower, new bathroom tile was poorly installed, carpet was soaking wet when we checked in at 7pm. Summary: This hotel was subpar for its two star rating. I would recommend any one of the other many other hotels in this same hot spot. I would NEVER stay at this hotel again.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Mary from Pikeville, KY
“Super comfortable beds. Convenient to downtown Asheville. Not enough parking. Cleaning service came at awkward times.” Dec 1, 2007 by
Arlene from Miami, FL
“The hotel is well situated and clean, but the decor could use a bit of updating.” Nov 5, 2007 by
Donna from Georgetown, OH
“Location was great for visiting Biltmore estate. A very good restaurant was next door. The bed was incredible. Never had a bed away from home as nice and comfortable. Should have stayed longer in Asheville.” Nov 4, 2007 by
Jan from Rochester, NY
“Close to expressway and downtown. Hotel fully booked one night and not enough parking on site; had to park at adjacent restaurant and wasn't sure if my car would be towed over night. Can't say enough about how friendly and attentive the person was who oversaw the breakfast operation. Room was small.” Oct 17, 2007 by
Paul from Walworth, NY
“Nice location in Asheville. Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was equally nice. I very safe selection.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Gwendolyn B. from St. Charles, IL
“You can still count on holiday inn to provide a clean, comfortable and affordable room with the added bonus of a very nice, complimentary breakfast.” Aug 16, 2007 by
Donna from Durham, NC
“Being a Holiday Inn Express, I automatically assumed that this hotel was a level two hotel. I was not very happy with the fact that the bathroom was tiny. One could hardly get into the bathtub/shower without stepping over the toilet. There was really no lobby. Rooms were accessed from the outside and many rooms on the front side of the hotel did not have parking directly outside the room. One had to carry luggage up the stairs. The location of the hotel, while close to the Biltmore Estate, was on a steep incline and on a busy, noisy highway.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Leah from Charlotte, NC
“The location is wonderful, the bed was wonderful. Seems most mid to up-scale hotels are going to better beds with linens that are washed daily (including the comforter). The bed was great and that's so important for us!” Jul 18, 2007 by
Wesley from Jacksonville, FL
“The hotel was a little high in price, but I'm sure that is because it's the closest to the Biltmore house. Everything was great with the exception of having a small parking lot. We have a big extended cab F-350 and it was a little hard to park. Other than that the room was very clean and the staff was wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to other guest. Especially if your going to the Biltmore House. It's very close and there are lot's of places to eat at along hwy 25.” Jul 3, 2007 by
Victoria from Rougemont, NC
“This hotel was in a decent location in Asheville, but it was set up on a hill that made it very hard to enter and exit their parking lot. It was right beside a Texas Roadhouse, which also made parking difficult during the evening (Texas Roadhouse customers parking in the hotel lot, etc). The new smart line of products in the Holiday Inn Express is wonderful.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Kimberly
“We have stayed at some other hotels near Biltmore and this has been the absolute best one yet hands down.” Apr 8, 2007 by
Philippa from Fayetteville, NC
“Good value. Good location.” Jan 1, 2007 by
Robert from Myrtle Beach, SC
“We had a small family reunion at the hotel and they allowed us to use their breakfast lounge foran evening card game. We rearranged the tables and had a great evening. The breakfast the next morning was very nice with many choices.” Sep 10, 2006 by
Robert from Myrtle Beach, SC
“The hotel was very close to the city's biggest attraction, the Biltmore Estate. It was nice and clean with a nice staff. The breakfast was one of the best with fruit, pastries, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, juices and yogurt.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Bill from Guntersville, AL
“Typical Holiday Inn Express. Average place, little higher than average price. Good location for Baltimore Estate and other Asheville sights. So it is very convenient. Many area restaurants are close.” Apr 13, 2006 by
Margaret from Monteagle, TN
“The hotel was fine. However, I parked in the lot where I was told to and when I came out both mornings, there were 2 trucks parked along the back of the single row parking for the hotel. They were parked so that it was very difficult to get my car out to leave for the day. In backing up, I misjudged the distance to the truck and bumped into it, not doing anything to the truck, but breaking the lens to the rear light on my car. I reported the presence of these trucks to the clerk, who just said they had a problem with that kind of thing happening, but didn't know what to do about it. I have a suggestion. If someone from the hotel staff walked to the parking at the back of the hotel, they would see the trucks there. In front of the hotel is a sign saying that illegal parkers will be towed. I suggest that towing these trucks just once would send the trucks to park elsewhere. My only complaint about the hotel is the amount of money it is going to cost to get my car light fixed. I would be happy to have you pass this comment on to the hotel.” 1 of 3 people found this review helpful.
