  • Great location, luxurious toiletries, really comfy bed.
  • Very expensive: internet, room service etc.

“The Fairmont was grand and stately in all of the right places. The entrance, lobby and Oak Bar. The room was nice enough but needed some attention: broken curtains and door knob. The shower was in an old tub. But, the touches were nice. Miller Harris toiletries, high count sheets and comforters made the room very comfortable. BUT, any extras were extremely expensive. Internet 2 bucks a minute in the lobby. Seriously! I spent 30 bucks writing a note to my son's teacher. Next time I will drag my laptop. Not sure of those prices. I like to have the ability to make tea or coffee in my room and that is not an option. Also, it is a dog friendly hotel. And while I like dogs it seemed strange to me that big golden retrievers and labs were checking in. The room next to us had two big dogs that gave a warning bark any time someone walked by. I am not crazy about that. I like to take my dog on vacation but not to The Fairmont in Copley Square. I feel like it's supposed to be a little more exclusive, if that makes any sense.”

  • Clean, charming has character. The building is beautiful and the rooms have everything you need.
  • The room is small, but it was fine since we were out and about in Boston the whole time.

  • The staff was so accomadating.....the room did not come with a coffee maker and I just had to ask and it was delivered.
  • The bathroom could use some updating.

  • Saw a roach in the bathroom.

“All in all a great experience. Had to pay $30 to upgrade to 2 beds. Parking was expensive $42.00 per night. Breakfast was expensive. Roach in the bathroom, but everything else was a great. Beds were super comfortable and location was excellent.”

  • Location was great, very active.
  • Charming, but old with non working items like phone and bathroom door.

“Definitely, not a 4 star hotel! Confirmed a few days earlier for a double bed with no problem. When arrived, no double bed available. Brought in a roll away bed that could not fit in our small room that already had a queen sized bed, so they took it away. The bathroom door did not close all the way, the sink was small without counter space. Bathroom was very tight. No coffee maker. Our phones did not work. Skip this hotel and find another.”

  • We got a suite, courtesy of the staff was very high, many choices for breakfast, suppers even included.
  • Location. Not many places to do bicycle, not close to any advertisement activities.

“We really enjoyed that hotel. For the price of a regular room we got a suite with all the breakfasts included and even the suppers were included on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The room was very clean.”

    perfect location.
  • Room is small and internet too expensive (should be included).

“A beautiful classic hotel with an amazing lobby and great staff. Like older hotels in Boston the rooms are small and don’t have many amenities. Expect to have older plumbing (e.g. shower heads) and the like. The staff is very friendly, both at the desk and on the floors, always acknowledging me with a smile and offering to help.”

  • Thermostats in rooms do not work

“The thermostats in the rooms do nothing. The maid left the air conditioner turned on all day and when I returned at night it was 60 degrees in my room. I turned up the thermostat to heat the room. After waiting an hour and getting colder by the minute I called for assistance and was told that the hotel has no heat. They brought me a little space heater. They should have to tell you at booking or check in about this problem.”

  • Lovely older hotel with modern amenities and fabulous room with remodeled bathroom. Excellent staff. Great location on Copley Square, close to the T.
  • Water pressure coming out of the shower was a little weak, but that's about it.

“Stately older hotel with a beautiful entrance, modern amenities, and an excellent, helpful staff. Our room was big, bathroom had obviously been remodeled. Housekeeping was superb. Would definitely stay here again.”

  • Walking distance to everything - totally elegant hotel with superior customer service.
  • There was nothing that I didn't like - everything was outstanding.

“The rooms were spacious and beautifully and newly decorated; exceptionally clean. There was a hallway to the bathroom so it wasn't connected to the bedroom which is much more comfortable for two occupants and this was a regular room - not a suite. The lobby and exterior of the hotel are gorgeous and in excellent condition with a lot of character because the hotel was built in 1912. The customer service was absolutely perfect - everyone we talked to was friendly, courteous and above-and-beyond helpful.”

  • It was very accommoditng and well located.

“The staff were very kind, gave us a king size bed upgrade. The location was perfect especially in a rainy day. It is so close to all the indoor shopping. Parking is a bit expensive, but valets were right on time and very curtious.Would be glad to stay there again.”

  • Elegant old world style and scale with comfortable beds and great bathrooms. Clean!
  • Very pricy restaurant but delicious.

“We were pleased with the location across from the T- stop. Beautiful exterior was quite grand and the lobby echoed it. High ceilings, beautiful drapes and bedding, elegant bathroom entirely tiled in marble. We were very pleased and would return.”

  • My husband and I really enjoyed the location as well as the hotel itself was a beautiful and historical building.
  • Overall a positive experience.

“Well, the hotel was nice, the rooms were small but nicely put together. You can definitely tell when you stay there that the building is older. Great access to the highway, centrally located in town. However, I was in some aspects disappointed. Arrived at 3:05 PM. Yet, the hotel staff stated that they will check you in anywhere from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. So we had nowhere to go until 5:00 PM. Then when I asked about parking they stated to me that they had valet parking for $42. It's been $42 for a few years now. But, for the price, I was happy with my accommodations.”

“This hotel was beautiful. My only complaint is that the room I was in was quite small, but if you are planning on spending time out enjoying the city this really is not an issue. The location is great since its a block from the T. They also have a dog at the hotel that really made me smile each day.”

  • The most comfortable mattress I ever slept on.
  • Leaky window left brown puddle of water in window sill. No one came to clean it.

  • The location was great. The staff and service were excellent.
  • The room was not as clean as it could be. Upon arrival in our room, the ice bucket had a pool of melted ice left in it.

  • Convenient location to restaurants, shopping, subway, buses etc.
  • Our room was very tiny 7 faced the tall building next door.

“I would recommend this hotel to friends/family. The location was excellent & easy access to the subway. I was skeptical about taking the Subway to the Financial District but it was so easy. Boston is very nicely laid out especially from this hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The entrance to Fairmont was impressive as well as the lobby.”

  • The decor and all the marble.
  • I didn't see much of an upgrade, the refrigerator is not cold enough, too much air ventilation in the room. It was either hot or cold.

“I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Anytime I see good bath products I know it's a good hotel. And the location was fabulous. Walking distance to Newbury St. and Prudential Center, and a grocery store near by. And plenty of restaurants to choose from. I will definitely stay here again.”

  • Room was way too small. TV was on side of bed. No low key breakfast location in hotel.

“Beautiful, elegant, and attentive. The room was incredibly small like a shoebox. But, it seems that if we spoke up they would have changed our room. The location was absolutely perfect. We walked to Fen way Park. We walked a few blocks to Newbury street where all the shops and restaurants are located. Also, its a few blocks from the gardens.”

  • The staff was genuine, friendly & caring. You don't find this much anymore.
  • I liked everything.

  • I like the fact it was an older hotel and the shower was great.
  • I had a smoking room and I expect the rooms to smell but the whole end of the hall was awful.

“The Boston Fairmont Copley Plaza exudes elegance without ostentation. Understated opulence attends the Oak room and Oak Bar. The staff is very attentive to questions and any issues that may arise. The location is excellent, just steps from the Boston Public Gardens and the Boston Common.”

  • Bed, hair in bath tub, stopped up drain, snooty staff.

“When we received confirmation that we were to stay at the Fairmont we were initially excited as it sounded and looked like a wonderful place. We were far from happy at the reality. The lobby was nice, but the staff was unfriendly. We were checked into a moderate room, which was small yet adequate. It went downhill from there. The bed and pillows were horribly uncomfortable. The bathroom had hair in it and the tub drain was blocked. You could hear the pipes bang loudly whenever anyone in surrounding rooms took a shower. They also charged $42 for one night of parking and the bill indicated that tip was not included. It definitely does not meet what we would expect to be 4 Star standards.”
