• Close to downtown area, felt safe in hotel.
• Did not feel comfortable level of security in parking garage. Lots of traffic noise.

“We booked for two nights, second evening arrived back at hotel to find we were locked out of our room. They had us as a no-show for the second night. We did not have clean towels or coffee supplies, and someone had entered our room while we were gone!”

• Very convenient to all downtown amenities. Directly across from Triangle Park. Excellent restaurants and clubs nearby.
• Sleep number bed not comfortable. One side did not hold air. The side that did was not comfortable either.

“I would definitely stay there again. Skywalk connected Rupp Arena, shopping, and excellent restaurants. Close to University of Kentucky. Safe area. Close to all amenities. Staff friendly and accommodating. Surroundings aesthetically pleasing.”

• The staff was genuinely concerned about the environment of our room being healthy for my toddler, upgrading us to concierge to have a nonsmoking room.
• The parking garage arrangement.

“My family and I spend the weekend at the Radisson while visiting Lexington to get my oldest daughter settled in her dorm at UK. The staff and everything about the hotel exceeded our expectations in every way and we were so very pleasantly surprised! We have already recommended the Radisson to several of my daughters classmates parents as we all will make many trips to Lexington for events at UK.”

• Location, right downtown.
• Sleep comfort bed is like sleeping on an air mattress.

“I was so thrilled to stay downtown at the Radisson. Great view of Triangle Park. The room however was crusty to say the least. I was put in a handicapped smoking room. Carpet looked like it hadn't changed in 20 years, had better looking carpet in my dorm. Bathroom was old, air conditioner didn't work well, and the beds were horrible. If you don't like an air mattress you will not like the sleep comfort bed. Overall very disappointed with hotel.”

• Elegantly furnished, spacious room with free internet access.
• There is too little light in the room near the beds, and it is too dim for night reading.

“Conveniently located in downtown Lexington, the Radisson has spacious, elegantly furnished rooms, as well as friendly and helpful personnel. The sizeable indoor pool is on the third floor in a spacious fitness center, with whirlpool and fitness machines but no sauna as the website claimed. The five-story parking deck is conveniently located and parking is free, though it was full a couple of times during the day. The mattresses are adjustable by sleep number for level of firmness--an excellent amenity--and the bathrooms are spacious and very clean. The only problem we found was that the lighting between the beds (and in the room as a whole) tends to be dim, and the lamp is placed between the beds, making it difficult if not impossible to read after dark. Direct lighting over the bed headboards would be much better.”

• Nice bar in hotel, and good downtown location.
• Only room available to us was a smoking room.

“Great location, however, we had trouble getting back to the parking garage on Saturday night, august 11 2007 due to some streets being closed for a marathon. Room was nice & comfortable, bar was nice & convenient. However, per the clerk at check in, the only room available was a smoking room.”

• Convenient location, luxurious, great atmosphere and comfortable room.
• We had to accept a smoking room rather than non-smoking (the room was still pleasant).

“No negative comments. We would rather have had a non-smoking room but for the price we could definitely live with smoking. The room was still clean and did not have a strong odor from the smoke. The staff offered to put an air purifier in the room should we request one. The roads around the hotel were blocked for a few hours because of a 5 k race but since we were participating in the race it did not bother us. For other travelers it may have been an inconvenience. A very pleasant experience.”

“Friendly people greeted us at the desk and the room was comfortable to arrive from traveling. Cool temperature and neat appearance. In addition, each room received a free newspaper each day we were checked in.”

• Room floor did not appear to have been vacuumed on arrival.

• Room service was late for breakfast, but meal was complimentary.

“Located in downtown Lexington, KY, the Radisson was close to numerous restaurants and a shopping area. Adjacent to the UK basketball arena. Staff was friendly. Room Service was 15 minutes late with breakfast, but game us the meal for free as a result. I would stay here again the next time I am in Lexington.”

“The Hotel was "ok for the money spent" however I have stayed in much nicer Radisson's. Unfortunately, I also spent more money for the stay. The worst thing about our stay was that the toilet would not flush and I called the front desk 3 different times with no response.”

• I really liked the location and the view of the hotel of downtown Lexington.
• The temperature of the room was very uncomfortable and we had to be moved the second night there.

“This is a beautiful hotel in a nice part of Lexington, close to many bars, restaurants, and attractions. However, the room was very humid and after they could not fix it on the first tries; we had to call and request to be moved to another room. When we got to the new room, there was a used toothbrush under a chair and the remote for the television did not work at all. The staff was friendly in accommodating us. I would return to this hotel, but I would not give as high of a rating that it did, nor would I want to pay the same rate.”

• The hotel is in a very convenient downtown location.
• The room we stayed in was in need of an update. The beds were good, but the rest of the room looked "tired."

“The Radisson plaza has been one of the best downtown hotels in Lexington. Alas, it appears to need a facelift. Nevertheless, the staff was excellent as they went out of their way to make us feel welcome.”

• Bathroom was in need of updating.

“Hotel was nice, with the exception of the bathrooms which require updating. The downtown location is ideal for access to restaurants, pubs and the univ. Of Kentucky campus. Parking was included in price of the hotel with ability to come and go as needed. We would do it again.”

• The secluded room with a buffer door for privacy and noise abatement.
• The garage setup necessitating use of two elevators.

• The room was nicely appointed, beautiful view of outdoor Christmas trees, lovely gingerbread displays on first floor.
• Work out room stunk, pool area very cold, loud party on first floor in ballroom, could hear their music in my room.

“I was very happy with my room accommodations. The hotel was clean, close to my meeting place, and the staff is friendly. Workout room terrible, pool area freezing, very loud party going on in ballroom on 1st floor. I could hear cool and the gang in my room on the 5th floor. Had to go to sleep with the TV on that night. Bummer.”

• The hotel clerk checked us into a room and then checked another party into our same room. It was scary to have someone come into your room with a key.

“The hotel is very nice, but after three men came into our room saying that it was their room, we called the front desk and they asked us to gather our bags, come back down to the lobby and relocate to another room. It was very unprofessional and quite frankly, dangerous, to have another group enter a room using their key when that room had already been assigned to us. They said they were sorry, but I don't think they realized how discomforting it was to have other guests enter your room after you check in.”

“Nice restaurant and bar, though I did not get to visit on this trip since I had a small child with me. The location is unbeatable in Lexington. My only problem was the overall cleanliness of the room; they need new carpet.”

• It was very quiet.
• We were in a lesser quality room, the bed was like sleeping on concrete - it wasn't a sleep number bed.

“Location was fairly convenient. The parking garage was filled and took some time parking. The desk clerk was pleasant. I was quite disappointed in the quality of the room as well as the fact that the bed most certainly was one of the originals. Our key cards were in a folder offering dollars off on the purchase of a sleep number bed, but we did not sleep on a sleep number bed. The bathroom was undoubtedly the smallest bathroom I have ever encountered in a hotel.”

• The staff is by far the best staffing in a hotel that I have ever stayed. They are happy and accommodating. This is the place to stay.
• Not a very clean hotel. In the room this is! The rest was clean. Under beds, toilets, under tables. Not very clean at all.

“My stay was great. This is a very convenient location. Staff is Great! Food Great! I guess the only thing that could be changed is that the maid service could be a little better. The room had dirt in it when we arrived. Toilets outside were filthy and dirt under beds. Other than this, I can not say enough good about the hotel and its staffing.”
