• Staff was outgoing and went out of their way to accommodate us.
• The noise level is terrible. Paper thin walls and you could hear everything from bottom and top floors including hallways.

• Made my wife very happy very friendly atmosphere beds were exceptional.
• Didn't have a pool but exceeded all other expectations.

“My wife was thrilled when she heard we were staying at this hotel as she had stayed here before. It's quiet, beds are to die for, great exercise facilities, with bar and restaurant. It's a little speedy.”

• Bed way too soft, room small, no hot tub, sauna or pool.

“I'm happy I got the room for a decent price. It was no where near worth the original price. It was no larger than any Plain-Jane 2 star room. All the room WAS/IS a redecorated Plain-Jane 2 star room. Staff was very friendly; TV was upscale although channel selection was so-so. Bathroom was better than average but the beds were way too soft.”

“The sofitel in Bloomington, Minnesota is a great place to stay. The location is convenient to our needs. It has a good restaurant, especially for breakfast. The staff is friendly. We would love to have free airport transfers, free wi-fi, and a continental breakfast.”

• Had lots of amenities, nice weight room.
• The PCs they had available for our use were clunky.

“Sofitel is conveniently located on the interstate near major shopping and restaurants in a nice, safe part of town. There are lots of little things they offer for their guests which make it worth the higher price. I first fell in love with the place when I stayed there for a business conference, so when we planned our trip, this was the only place I considered.”

• The location and room service were both very good. The public areas are well appointed.
• The rooms are suppose to be redone but are done poorly, the housekeeping staff is not 4 star qualities.

“The Sofitel in Minneapolis does not live up to the Sofitel quality I have come to expect. The room furniture is chipped and scratched, the bathroom doors do not close or latch. The doors were repainted on closets etc. but not filled properly and show the old hardware. The housekeeping staff is not well trained, when we requested a top sheet on the bed both thru guest services and a note to housekeeping we did not receive it, at bedtime when we called to get one a houseman came up and handed me a sheet, we had to call again to have the bed remade by the staff, 4 contacts for one sheet! The maid took our personal corkscrew when cleaning the room and when we requested its return we were given first a throw away type then when we refused to accept that we were given a similar design corkscrew of much less quality. The Minneapolis Sofitel is not a 4 star hotel, only the concierge seemed to understand 4 star services.”

• Would like more bath towels in room initially.

“This is our 2nd trip to this hotel. We love the food, the service and the feather beds. It is in a great location and the rooms are always immaculate. We can't say enough good things about this hotel as there are so many.”

• The rooms were huge. The decor was done in very modern and the beds and pillows were really comfortable.
• Do not recommend the "French" restaurant the food was just ok, and the service was slow.

“The lobby was very inviting and offered many areas to sit and relax, but I do not know why you would want to leave your room once you saw it. Huge in a modern decor, the beds were comfortable with the down bedding and pillows. I would not recommend the "French" restaurant in the lobby, service was slow, and the food was not too good.”

• Front desk and concierge services were very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Gift shop carries unusual gift items.
• Lacks airport shuttle service.

“Only stayed one night but every aspect of my stay, from first front-desk encounter through to check-out was very positive. Room was clean, well-appointed and I did not want to leave the comfortable bed in the morning. Breakfast crepes in Chez Collette were perfect. (All hotels could provide a listing of local radio stations for ease in finding the NPR station. Many of us rely on that news source in the morning.)”

“I wanted a better hotel because I was tired of staying in Chains that I thought would be clean but weren't. This is important when your children touch everything. It was clean and looked nice the beds and pillows were not comfortable. Staff was very nice.”

• Very elegant and attentive staff at the front door, the desk, the fitness center and the room. Excellent fitness center with high quality equipment.
• We would have enjoyed a swimming pool, but we got along fine without.

• Appointment (furniture to wide-screen TV to elegant bath) of the room.
• Hard to say, but the room might have been a bit larger, But I did not like the noise I could hear in the hallways and from the TV in an adjoining room.

“While the Sofitel in Bloomington, MN has been around for years, they still maintain a HIGH standard of service, amenities, appointment, and comfort of the rooms. They do need to improve the noise that comes from the hallways (cleaning staff in the morning) and in the soundproofing of rooms (could hear TV in and adjoining room).”

• Excellent friendly service, clean attractive modern rooms.
• We were missing soaps, shampoos, and the mattress pillows were skewed off the sides of the beds.

“While this is a beautiful modern hotel/motel, I believe it is closer to a three star than a four star hotel. The rooms appeared to be clean but little things were off - we had to call room service for soaps and shampoos, beds were lopsided because the mattress covers were over the sides and had not been corrected (made us wonder if sheets had actually been changed). However, because of overall experience, we will stay at the Sofitel again.”

• I loved how clean the rooms were. The front desk staff was very friendly.
• I would have hoped for a pool or at least hot tub for relaxing.

“I love this hotel! If you are looking for a cozy, clean and friendly hotel, the Sofitel is it. It would have been nice to have had a pool or hot tube available for relaxation. This hotel is definitely not for children. Enjoyed my stay!”

• It was very upscale with excellent modern decor.
• Not family friendly at all.

“This hotel is very nice and upscale. The staff was helpful, albeit "stuffy". Stay here for business or as a couples get-a-way but not with children. Some things to be aware of: no Disney channel or any kid channels, hotel website states that babysitting services are available but the staff said it is not offered. Expensive food and drinks and not kid friendly. The beds are very soft and the only cover is a heavy down comforter. No coffee maker in your room and expensive in the gift shop.”

• Convenient, courteous staff, upscale decor, left bottle water at night when bed was turned down.
• Dirty bed skirt & pillowcase, no top sheet on bed, mini bar or hairdryer, elevator suddenly dropped about 3" when using.

“The staff was friendly and very efficient. When taking the elevator to check out it dropped about 3 inches and the doors partially opened before reaching the lobby level. They did not lock off the elevator after the front desk was told about the incident. Safety for the clients didn't seem to be a concern after it was reported. The housekeeping was not up to par either. The bed skirt had stains, the pillowcase had ink marks and there was no top sheet on the bed which made for uncomfortable sleeping having to pull on and off the down comforter. They did not have a hair dryer or mini bar in the room as stated in the amenities provided. Housekeeping only did the usual cleaning. They did not even put up the ironing board & iron. Even your basic hotels will return things where they belong in your room if they are left out. Very disappointed for the ratings this hotel has.”

• Meals very expensive so didn't eat there.

“Easy to get in and out. Check in and out very efficient. Not many restaurants near by for choices besides the hotel restaurants. Had a room with a connecting door. Occupants of other side were noisy until 2 AM both nights.”

• Cleaning staff did not re-stock shampoo and other amenities.

“We had a well appointed interior hotel room that was well decorated with a comfortable king size bed and adequate mini-bar. During our stay we received complimentary bottled water. There is a work-out room with plenty of equipment. The business center in the lower level allows you to check e-mails and use the internet without charge; however, the hotel does charge you to access the internet from your room. It was well worth the price paid and the staff was friendly and efficient.”

• This is perhaps the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in.
• The hotel policy on the number of children per parents room is too restrictive and food prices are on the international hotel standard.

“This hotel is perhaps the cleanest hotel that I have ever stayed in, and I would consider that to be about the highest praise that I could give a hotel. Also, hotel security is extremely professional and taken very seriously--we noticed a number of things about the security personnel that made us feel more like we were staying in an embassy and less like we were staying at a hotel in the U.S. Inside the hotel, you could forget that you are in Minneapolis Minnesota--and instead come to believe that you are in one of the European capitals. The hotel atmosphere is very international, not domestic/North Central US. Unfortunately, this carries over to the restaurant and room-service prices, where you can get some $14 eggs with a $3 juice for breakfast. We called ahead and requested connecting/adjoining rooms with cribs, so that our family could interact when in the rooms, but upon arrival we were checked into rooms that didn't connect. The front desk was reluctant, but eventually did come through with some connecting rooms' and eventually we did get the cribs. The hotel shower is one of the most water consumptive and luxurious that we have experienced in the US, and the bed is one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. We really enjoyed the thick comforter and responsive air conditioning. The very large flat-screen television is quite upscale. The room furniture would fit a refrigerator (which would be nice to have), but it might present an additional challenge to housekeeping. It was also surprising that with all of the security there was not a safe in any of our rooms. All things considered, this hotel is one of the most comfortable luxury hotel experiences we've ever had. We would love to go back to this hotel every time that we are in the Minneapolis area. The experience was so good.”

• The hotel was beautiful and the staff very nice & helpful they catered to our every wish.
• Nothing I can think of except they accept pets.

“Lovely place to stay my wife is very picky when it comes to hotels. We travel a lot and she usually complains a lot. She was blown away, she liked it so much I got brownie points. My only concern is can other hotels in the places we have upcoming trips to meet this chains high standards. For the low price this place was 10 star.”

• I have done extensive traveling and this is my second favorite only to the Marriott Marquis in NY. It is a wonderful place to stay.
• There is not one negative thing to say about this wonderful hotel.

“The rooms are excellent, the service, the ambiance, the decor, etc. I would stay there each time I go to the Minneapolis area. It is my favorite.”
