Max from Brooklyn,NY
“The staff was friendly and professional. No restaurant on site, the elevator was out of service and was very slow. Good for business traveler but poor for leisure senior traveler.” Sep 17, 2009 by
Terry from Poway,CA
“Located on the beautiful Charles River with two well kept secrets. A shuttle service and grocery stores/coffee shop within a 3 minute walk! Did i mention the staff that went out of their way to make sure my family and I were taken care of? Yes I'd recommend this hotel to others!” Sep 7, 2009 by
Mike from Ny,NY
“Good location if you have a car, beautiful room with an awesome view from several different windows.” Aug 25, 2009 by
Georgeanne from New Haven,CT
“We found all areas of the hotel very clean. The room was pleasant, bed comfortable, flat screen TV, and many amenities were provided, including a coffee maker, small refrigerator, iron and ironing board and many toiletries, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The temperature of the pool made it very inviting and we enjoyed swimming there and then sitting out on the sun deck. There were laundry facilities and an exercise room, but we did not make use of them.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Bonnie from Norridgewock,ME
“Highly recommend for a short stay or for the person on the go to area sights.” Aug 16, 2009 by
patrick malloy from Cumberland Ctr,ME
“not bad for the price steep price for parking $24” Aug 16, 2009 by
Steve from Macedon,NY
“Average experience, couldn't accommodate per arrangements made in advance via telephone. Parking at $24 per night was a significant increase.” Aug 15, 2009 by
Hazel from Bradenton,FL
“I was pleasantly surprised with this Marriott in that it was a much more pleasant experience than usual. The staff (with the exception of one lady) was exceptional. It was clean and quite comfortable. I enjoyed having the refrigerator in the room for soda & snacks for my grandchildren. The free shuttle service to the T and all of the squares eg Harvard, Central and Kendell provided us the opportunity to get around without an expensive car rental and parking fees. Buffet breakfast provided a wide variety of hot & cold breakfast items every morning. The pool was kept clean and well-stocked with towels. I would suggest that soap and shampoo be provided in the shower area however! The short (1/4 block) walk to Trader Joes behind this hotel was convenient to purchase any type of organic food/drinks we wanted!” Aug 14, 2009 by
Jen from Oakland,CA
“Pleasantly surprised - exterior is a bit drab but rooms are very nicely appointed and bed was super comfortable. Staff was very friendly and housekeeping very helpful. Rooms have coffee maker, fridge, hairdryer, iron, flat screen TV, quiet AC/heat system, some have fantastic views of Cambridge or Charles River. There is also a shuttle bus that will take you into Harvard or Central square.” Aug 12, 2009 by
Tom from White River Junction,VT
“Very pleasant, quiet, and comfortable.” Jul 17, 2009 by
Chuck from Sykesville,MD
“I was not happy with my stay due to the fact they were located next to a shopping center. There was a semi truck unloading every night next to my room very late at night. Making a terrible racket.” Mar 20, 2009 by
Justine from Washington,DC
“Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated, and very nice staff.” Mar 16, 2009 by
Steve from Cambridge,MA
“Modern, clean, very comfortable hotel. Bed was VERY comfy, nice view, new LCD TV. Bathroom was the only area which hinted at the age of the building (exposed pipes). Definitely recommended for a quick overnight stay for business or leisure.” Jan 28, 2009 by
Wolfram from Benbrook,TX
“Not disappointed by quality to be expected from Marriott. Well appointed rooms, free internet, great views, decent work-out facility, friendly staff. Overall useful location.” Jan 5, 2009 by
Maria from Altadena,CA
“Overall it was a good experience. The parking in Boston was a surprise though, it was $24 per day which I didn't expect. And the shuttle service was useless to us because when we called, the girl who answered didn't know what to do, and didn't recognize where we were when we described it. We walked about 2 miles in the cold to get back to the hotel.” Dec 8, 2008 by
Michelle from Dayton,OH “The hotel was in a convenient location to Central and Harvard Square. The room was beautiful, upgraded flat panel TV, very large room overlooking the charles river, and comfortable bed! The staff was helpful in all of my needs!” Oct 16, 2008 by
Jan
“Nice hotel, old facade, but re-done inside. Not close to restaurants, or any action, but they do offer a shuttle bus to go into Cambridge or to the view of the river. Did not like to pay $25 a day to park in their own lot, which is not even crowded.

“Except for have to change rooms three times, it was a good place to stay for cleanliness. But it was not close to any of the public transportation. On Sundays they stop there shuttle at 6 pm which left us stranded because we wanted to stay in downtown Boston past 6 pm.” Sep 19, 2008 by
Caroline
“Great hotel with excellent staff. A short walk from the subway into Boston centre, although hotel offers a free shuttle to local stations.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Riki
“This hotel met all of my expectations for the quality of the rooms and service. The location is problematic, however, with a 20 minute walk to the nearest T station. Because parking and driving can be so challenging in Boston, it made using the subway system more challenging. For future travellers, after dark I recommend getting off at the Harvard station (one stop further down the line) and taking one of the numerous cabs from that area back to the hotel.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Seth
“Great location if you are visiting people in Harvard and/or MIT.” Oct 17, 2006 by
Arthur from Los Angeles, CA
“Relatively distant from public transportation and local attractions although did provide a local shuttle. No shuttle to or from airport which is a drawback. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Rooms were quiet. Daily newspapers. No view from my room but is possible that some rooms had a river view towards Boston. No smoking rooms and floors.” Sep 25, 2006 by
Jeff from Monticello, IN
“Overall nice place to stay, small rooms. I would stay there again.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Isabelle from Felton, CA
“The hotel staff is what made the stay nice. It is not conveniently located (a mile walk from T), the beds were miserably uncomfortable, the cable was broken for most of our stay, the room smelled like smoke even though it was on a non-smoking floor, and it was not well maintained (plastic cover on light was broken with bent nails sticking out, mold stains on the ceiling in the bathroom, AC didn't allow you to change the settings/temp). Although there was wireless internet, there were not any available outlets in the room. We had to unplug a lamp for the laptop, and another lamp when we asked for a fridge. These things did not take away from our stay because we were rarely in the room, but we did not sleep well there. Also, there was construction happing at the Trader Joes next door, and that woke us each morning with jack-hammering.” Sep 18, 2006 by
Julie from Richmond, VA
“This hotel was great. Our room overlooked the water, was clean and very nicely decorated. I would have preferred a hotel that was more centrally located in the Cambridge area for easy walking access, but the hotel was very convenient via a quick cab ride to Harvard Square, Boston, etc.” Sep 6, 2006 by
Jan from Ontario, NY
“The price for the room was acceptable, but I was not aware that I had to pay $20 per day for parking in the hotel lot until I arrived. That added a significant expense to our trip.” Aug 29, 2006 by
Yp from Evanston, IL
“Good quality, but location is a problem - you need to use their shuttle, or call a cab, and remember this - Cambridge's cab fare is DIFFERENT from city of Boston. It's more expensive!” Aug 18, 2006 by
Mary from Petaluma, CA
“I will never stay at this hotel! The carpets were patched together with duct tape and soiled. Our towels had stains on them. The restaurant (Dionysus) had a cockroach crawling up the window. The elevator broke down with my daughter, 2 other hotel guests and me in it. We pried the doors open with our hands to get out. For some reason the circuit breaker in my daughter's room went out so her lamps and clock did not have electricity. Of course that happened at 11:00 at night so we didn't get to sleep until almost midnight by the time they figured out who knew where the electrical box was and how to flip the breaker. The only saving grace was Ed the concierge/van driver. He directed us to how to score great Red Sox tickets and Blue Man group! Gave us accurate advice on how to get where we wanted to go. He was awesome!” Aug 14, 2006 by
Isaiah from Springfield, OR
“This hotel was basically a Motel 6 with a coffee pot and shampoo/conditioner/lotion and over priced mediocre quality room service. Almost every night we were there they failed to replenish or clean something in our room. The in-house Greek restaurant was closed for dinner while we were there, however we were very pleased with the in-house Japanese restaurant and bar.” Aug 14, 2006 by
Donna from San Diego, CA
“Older hotel in OK location. Stayed at Sheraton and Marriott during this stay this hotel did not met my expectations.” Aug 6, 2006 by
Michael from Pennington, NJ
“The hotel is nice, however it wasn't as close as I had hoped to access public transportation. I had to take a cab which was quite costly. The staff was friendly and efficient. I would stay there again, however next time I visit Boston, I hope to find a hotel in the financial district or the Back Bay area. At the price I paid, I'm not going to be too picky though. Overall it was a good experience.” Aug 3, 2006 by
Hani from San Francisco, CA
“The hotel itself is old but the rooms are new. Great view of the Charles River. Great location in Cambridge, about ten minutes away from everything. I would stay here again.” Aug 3, 2006 by
Jane from Camden, TN
“Clean, staff helpful, location perfect.” Aug 3, 2006 by
Linda from Fullerton, CA
“Clean but amenities were sparse. Beds very hard overall OK but definitely not a 3 star accommodation. Restaurants in Hotel were good but the main one was closed due to vacation. Not a good place to walk from.” Aug 2, 2006 by
Shih C. from Boston, MA
“Not bad.” Aug 1, 2006 by
Rich from San Diego, CA
“Handy to BU and BC and Harvard for family's of students, but, lacking any charm or appeal to seekers of the Boston experience.” Jul 31, 2006 by
Tracy from Washington, DC
“In general, a very nice hotel that mostly compensates for the slight inconveniences.” Jul 31, 2006 by
Ellen from North Fort Myers, FL
“The Radisson was very conveniently located to Central Square and Harvard Square. The hotel was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly. I recommend staying here.” Jul 31, 2006 by
Mary from Aurora, IL
“Clean, good room size, free newspaper , coffee, and apples each day; free shuttle service.” Jul 27, 2006 by
Jeffrey from Katy, TX
“Hotel was not accommodating from the staff. The A/C did not work correctly and when I asked the facilities guy to work on it he told the front desk he did. I come back and the A/C is still not working and I took the cover off and found a plastic bag stucked into the fan. I guess he really worked on it. I pulled the bag out and it worked slightly better. Room was very small for rating. Hotel is in bad repair. Stained carpet, holes in the walls, wrinkled carpet, bad a/c, rusty window frames, I could go on. Stay away from this HOTEL. I do not care how cheap you get it. Stay away.” Jul 26, 2006 by
Elaine from Kinnelon, NJ
“N/A” Jul 23, 2006 by
Don from Fairview, NC
“Everything was very nice, with the exception of the charge for overnight parking. There were several vacant spots in the lot, and the charge appeared to be a form of "gouging" to me. It left a bad taste for me.” Jul 20, 2006 by
Dawn from Milford, CT
“Staff was friendly and accommodating, two very different ethnic restaurants, no pub, easy to find, close to Fen way Great views of the Charles river. Will be back in August!” Jul 19, 2006 by
Linda from Corvallis, OR
“For the price I paid, this was adequate, but only just. Hotel staff ignored me in favor or pizza man in the evening, taxi driver and boyfriend in the morning. Carpet was really filthy. But sheets were clean, shower was hot.” Jul 17, 2006 by
Rick from Garner, NC
“This hotel is located near MIT and is fairly accessible/easily to find for those that are comfortable driving in Boston. There is at least one restaurant in the hotel; we did not eat there, however, so I am not sure of the quality of food. Fresh fruit and newspapers were provided in the lobby daily. Like other hotels in Boston, there was a fee for parking our car ($20/night). The room was nice, with two queen beds and loveseat. The beds were of the "select number" adjustable firmness type - quite comfortable. Overall, our stay was a pleasant experience.” Jul 16, 2006 by
Jeff from Evanston, IL
“Decent business traveler hotel. Not flashy at all. Service is good.” Jul 15, 2006 by
Darin from South Hadley, MA
“When we initially arrived at the hotel, it was too early to check in, so we left our bags at the front desk, and went off to sight see for a bit. When we arrived back at the hotel in the late afternoon/dinner time, we tried to check in and were told they had over booked and we would have to be bumped and move to the Howard Johnson's near Fen way. What I was not happy about was that the HoJo's was no where near comparable to the Radisson. We were awoken in the middle of the night by the door alarm because someone decided to use the emergency exit near our room, and the staff didn't come turn it off until about 5 minutes after I called them! ” Jul 5, 2006 by
Jl from Boston, MA
“It is clean and well kept. However, it is old and things are run down a bit. Public transportation is not close by. It is next to the Charles River with nice views from some rooms. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel and there is a Trader Joe's next door. Overall, it is for the business traveler who needs a place to stay overnight.” Jun 28, 2006 by
Bruce from Cumberland, ME
“The Radisson Cambridge is a moderate hotel along the Charles River, on Memorial Drive, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Parking at the hotel is free. The hotel has a shuttle service that runs locally between 10am and 5:30pm (we didn't use it, so I don't know how good it is). Walk time to the MBTA Green Line Boston University Central stop is about 15 minutes. Also about a 15 min walk from the hotel to the Red Line Central Square stop. About 25 minutes to walk to Harvard Square from the hotel, and it appears from a map (and our times to walk similar distances) that it's about a 25-30 minute walk from the hotel to Kenmore/Fen way (we'll be walking there in August to see the Sox & Yankees). The 7th floor non-smoking two-double beds room we stayed in was small and clean, but nothing fancy. We peeked at the pool on the 5th floor--larger than some hotels we've been at, but not huge--seemed okay for kids. The exercise room in the basement was small, with mostly cardio machines and free weights. There are two restaurants in the hotel--we didn't use either. Next door is Trader Joes, a whole foods-type of grocery store--open 9am to 10pm 7days--great for muffins, yogurt, fruit, etc. for breakfast, and snacks, but don't count on them for a cup of coffee--they only sell coffee to brew at home. Regarding coffee, there's a coffee/espresso shop across from the BU Central Green Line stop--they have bagels, muffins, etc. there, too. Overall, we considered our stay sort of like "camping in the city"--not an ultra-fancy hotel, and we walked a lot, in the rain. (Not sure we'd stay there in the winter, as we'd have to take a taxi or drive to get around comfortably.) We'll be heading back with the kids in August for three nights. Price paid for this trip: $80/night for June 23-25, 2006--a reasonable price for the accommodations in summer. If you're okay with walking, driving, or taking a taxi, then this is an OK spot for the money. If you want to be close to the "T"” Jun 21, 2006 by
Bob from Arlington, VA
“Nice view of the Charles. Slow elevators. Short walk to Trader Joes, Whole Foods. Refrigerators and microwave ovens for rent. Playground nearby for kids.”
