“Attractive, casually elegant, and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I left a prescription in the room, went back to retrieve it, the room had been clean & the staff found it, called me & informed me they would mail it to me.”

• The staff at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful
• I wish they had Starbucks coffee.

• Very comfortable beds, friendly, helpful staff.
• No coke products available in the hotel.

“Beautiful hotel, lovely location, friendly helpful staff. We visited family for the holiday. We had a very relaxing evening before the big day and were well taken care of at the counter when checking out. The only negative was the lack of Coke products, my husband's preference, in the hotel. The double desk was very useful. The over sized shower was wonderful.”

• Accessible to highway and downtown, but not right on the road.
• Housekeeping was too persistent! Complimentary coffee ran out - never came to refill despite promise of having it filled in five minutes!

“Overall, we had a great experience. The only thing that was unsatisfactory was how persistent housekeeping was! We were granted late check out (1pm) but at 9:30 housekeeping knocked on the door, when we didn't answer they tried to open it despite our 'Privacy Please' notice on the door!”

• The hotel staff sent us in circles when trying to find hotel.

“The hotel was clean. However, the shower had mold on the ceiling and the wallpaper in the bathroom was coming off of the walls. I was not happy with the bathroom at all.”

• Far from town, no shuttle, and no room service after 9pm.

“Clean, but too far from downtown. There are buses nearby (which end at 10pm), but the hotel offers no shuttle service. If you are looking to stay in town, this may not be the hotel you are looking for.”

• Comfortable, beautiful, clean, top-notch front desk staff.
• Liked everything!

“We were in Chapel Hill to attend a college concert. Hotel is a short car ride to campus. Marriott has never disappointed, and this was no exception. The front desk supervisor was exceptional, professional and friendly. Beautiful hotel. Did not eat there (we got in late and left early), but would definitely stay there again.”

“This hotel is very nice, everyone was pretty friendly, and the room itself was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that there was not a complimentary continental breakfast, you had to pay for everything.”

• Front desk staff was not always friendly.

“I stayed in the executive suite and it was excellent. Two Widescreen LCD TVs; two bathrooms; huge living area, separate bedroom with king bed; two separate AC units. Very comfortable stay. Good restaurant with friendly staff; small bar and lounge area that is open until 10; small market with drinks and few other items available for purchase; excellent location to UNC; right next to bus stop at Friday Center. My only real complaint was the front desk staff was not always friendly.”

• Tepid, slightly grungy hot tub; small pool; feather pillows; clear door on shower.

“The Marriott was convenient and attractive on our one-night stay last week. The hot tub and pool were disappointing--pool was small and cold, and the hot tub a little grungy and not very hot. And I had to ask the staff to replace the feather pillows in the room with something hypoallergenic; I can say however that they were nice and prompt about that. And mostly we were happy with our brief stay. Bathroom could use another sink and an opaque shower door to make the place more conducive to traveling with someone other than a partner. Seemed like a better place to stay alone or with a spouse.”

• Currently undergoing renovations (minimal distraction).

• Previous occupant sock in bed, would not adjust rate!

“Hotel would have higher marks, but on first night wife found sock of previous occupant in her bed, indicating sheets had not been changed. When confronted, management would not compensate that night (one of six). Unbelievable! After much badgering, they did compensate $18 in breakfast bills. Totally unsatisfactory attitude on the part of Marriott.”

“The service was excellent. As we were checking out, I asked the desk clerk about the local Lemur observation facility. She not only knew about it, she also printed us out a map, suggested things to see and made us a reservation to go there. My ten year old was very excited. He also loved the indoor pool (all to himself).”

“Tucked away in an industrial complex just two blocks off rte. 64. Street needs better signage as I got lost one night coming back but found my way eventually.”

• Put my wife and me in a king sized room without being asked; free wife.
• Other guests were given a breakfast coupon for free breakfast, and we were not.

“The courtyard is a great place for families and business travelers alike. The rooms are clean, attractive, and comfortable. The common areas are generous and spacious, without being too lavish. Throw in free wife and convenient parking, the courtyard in chapel hill was exactly what my wife and I needed for our stay. For the price we paid, we felt we got more than our money's worth. Marriott is doing something right with the courtyard in chapel hill.”

• The indoor heated pool was opening early and closed late.

“After arriving at 1am, I was woken up at 7:30 when they started building the final wing. This will be a nice hotel, but it should remove it from their listings until after the construction is completed. I was very disappointed.”
