• Free shuttle to Duke University, and a friendly staff.
• One unhappy shuttle van driver.

“A good hotel with excellent restaurants and bar area. Very pretty lobby and entrance, spotlessly clean. Nice, well-appointed rooms but the bed in our room had reached the end of its useful life.”

• It was comfortable, clean, and made me feel secure.
• I did not like the damp smell in the hallways.

“As I entered the hotel I immediately began to relax. There is something about the staff and the hotel itself that made me realize that my stay would be in good hands. It beckons a person to slow down, relax and unwind. The room I was given was large and very clean. The best part was that I came back from my business trip stress free.”

• I used to like this hotel, staff is very friendly and accommodating rooms are comfortable and location for me is convenient.

“On my recent stay I was placed on a floor that was converted to college dorms. Came back on a Saturday night to my hotel, there was a big loud affair going on, poor rear access to hotel due to dorm restrictions and a false fire alarm late in the evening. I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past, but I would not choose it again under these circumstances.”

• General areas were fine.
• The rooms were 2 star quality. Really below expectations as I have stayed in other 3.5 star hotels.

• Charged me 178.00 for lunch,we did'nt eat at hotel

“This is second time this hotel charged me incorrectly in 13 month. First time they charged me for stays when I was worrking and stay at home more than 500 miles away,this time they charged me 178.00 for lunch when My wife and I did not eat at hotel at all. Good thing that I checked my bill carefully.Still I had to go through trouble to have the hotel credit me back.”

• Poor parking availability, rooms too far from entrance/vending ice machine did not work.

“I had a hold placed on my credit card for 179.00 - Incidental fee. This cost should have been 25.00 a day. Room service food was overpriced for a meal. I had to pay 5.00 a day for a small refrigerator to keep my insulin cold- this is usually not a fee for a hotel patron. I definitely would not consider this hotel above a one star facility.”

• Location.
• Old, tired furnishing. Sticky dirty carpet. Poor tub drainage.

“I was very disappointed. It was just in sad, old, tired shape. It was supposed to be 3.5 or 4 star. Elevator broken for first 24-hours. Poor parking. Hate it when bath tub drainage gets stopped up. Hate dirty sticky carpets and you feel you have to be with your shoes. Furniture was ancient and was marked up. Front desk staff was rude and not attentive.”

• Comfortable beds, thick walls, good location.
• Smell in the stairwell was really terrible.

“I think this hotel was listed as 3 1/2 stars, it is definitely not that. The room's decor reminded me somewhat of my grandmother's house dated, but comfortable. The lobby is the only impressive part of the hotel, after that it gets pretty worn looking quickly. Still, the room was quiet and the beds were comfortable. My only issue is with the star rating. My friends were staying at the 2 star Comfort Inn and it was newer, better smelling, and in a better location.”

• There is nothing I like about this hotel. It was a dump!
• Everything. It was not very clean. Horrible decor. Hallways and room smelled of smoke. Room smelled like mildew.

“Hotel is in a great location but needs work desperately. Rooms and hallways very unattractive. Smells like smoke and mildew. Rooms are not very clean. Cracked tiles. Caulk around sinks is very unsightly and room decor is horrible. This hotel could be great but only if they are willing to totally update it - throw out the old smoke smelling carpet and fix up the bathrooms. Also, the cleaning staff needs to be fired!”

• Hotel staff trying to do the best with what they had to work with.
• With only on elevator that sounded faulty guest usually had to wait extra time.

“Hotel reminded me of a 20 year old Las Vegas hotel that had seen better days. Some fixtures were missing parts and I'm sure the maintenance staff is struggling to get replacement parts. Hotel was clean but did not merit a 3 1/2 star rating. I applaud the staff for making the most of what they have to work with. Courtesy shampoos, soaps etc provided were cheap and worthy of a two star. I spent two nights within the same week in two different rooms and had the same experience.”

• We liked the large swimming pool and hot tub. It was very spacious.
• The interior decorating of the room seems outdated and not modern.

“Overall, the millennium hotel was a great experience. The staff here were all very friendly and helpful. The amenities were great, we enjoyed the large pool. Our only complaint is that these hotels do not offer any complimentary breakfasts.”

• Hotel bar looked nice and welcoming for friends to talk and relax.
• Small elevator. Dingy hallways and rooms need refurbishing.

“Hard to locate hotel. Goggled directions and still could not find hotel. Hotel lobby and bar area are very relaxing and welcoming. I had to walk a long way down a winding hall way that the carpet was dingy looking. Rooms were clean but needs to be renovated. Not a 3 1/2 star hotel but still nice.”

• Wonderfully comfortable, clean and lovely.

“This hotel was very nice and exceeded my expectations which were already high. Would love to stay here again. Its luxurious but quaint hotel with so much to offer. Great staff and beautiful rooms with the comfiest beds and bed spreads. It didn't feel like a hotel it felt like a special guest room in a fancy house. I loved it.”

• It was close to my destination.
• Dirty, old facility. Had the feeling of a run-down hotel.

“The facility appears to be very run down. The lobby, hallways and rooms all had a stale cigarette smell, despite the fact I was in a non-smoking room. The pool area looked and smelled horrendous. The gym consisted of a small home gym next to the pool. It was impossible to work out as the area was about 80 and smelled like sweat and bleach. I am not one to be overly particular about my travel accommodations, but this experience was too much.”

“The location of this property is great if you have any business at Duke Hospitals or Duke University. The lobby and public spaces are becoming a bit dated, but look to be well maintained. My biggest complaint was no wireless internet in the hotel (at least not in the rooms) and I had no cell phone coverage in my room (I'm with AT&T).”

• The fact that it had a hot tub which was open 24 hours.
• Old, worn out, has probably seen too many alumni parties. It needs a full renovation, the rooms barely equal the rooms of a Motel 6.

• SHEETS HAD BLOOD ON THEM. I AM STILL FIGHTING WITH HOTEL OVER $140 THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR "ROOM RENTAL"

“HOTEL DOUBLED CHARGED ME AS I HAD PAID FOR ROOM WITH PRICELINE AND THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR ROOM AS WELLALSO THERE WAS BLOOD ON SHEETS OF ONE OF THE BEDS.ALL NO FAULT OF PRICELINE”

• The room was spacious, attractive, and well-appointed.
• No newspaper was available on premises on weekend.

“In the most important ways, this hotel is a pleasant 3-star facility. The spacious room was clean and very comfortable. The staff was eager to assist, though not always knowledgeable. Public areas are attractive though carpeting in hallways appears due for a cleaning. Parking is convenient, but a designated smoking area on the only sidewalk between parking and the lobby is unfortunate.”

• The location was convenient.
• The hotel is in bad need of a remodel. It is very worn in all areas.

“My son and I were in the area for a medical appointment. The location is the best thing I can mention, it could not have been easier for us to get around the area. The hotel itself is very dated and worn. A remodel is badly needed. The staff was not friendly at all and seemed imposed upon any time we asked for help.”

“We would not recommend or stay at this hotel again. It is very old and must have mold. We could not do anything but sleep at the hotel. We had to leave for the day to quit sneezing and relieve the congestion.”

• Nothing. They failed to fix the phone for 3 days. Worst hotel that I've ever stayed in.
• Everything.

“Room smelled like chlorine when you entered. I asked each morning to have the phone fixed as the headset cord was broken, they never fixed it. My Sprint cell phone only worked if I opened the window. My Sprint wireless broadband didn't work. No morning USA Today or other paper. The wireless internet was marginal at best. The hotel should either be demolished or downgraded to a 1-star hotel.”
