• Nothing Hotel was filthy dirty
• Rooms not cleaned, housekeeping cold & uncaring

“My room was dirty, hair in the bathtub and on the hairdryer. Didn't notice that evening, exhausted from traveling. Next morning went to shower and couldn't due to filth. Carpet was dirty, made my socks black. Every ledge imaginable had thick, thick dust. Next day asked to get a different room, desk clerk called housekeeping to check on room first. I moved only to find the same filth. The carpet had not been vaccumed from previous patron, threads, crumbs etc everywhere. The corner behind the chair had dirt and dust bunnies so thick I couldn't see the carpet, in the same corner the base of the stand-up lamp was just as bad. The coffe maker looked like someone had poured coffee grounds in it and housekeeping just put new coffee packets on top of it and did not clean it out. It was a horrible, horrible expereince. I stay at HIE everwhere because they are usually very clean and friendly. Housekeeping wouldn't even look me in the eye. I passed three of them going to my room the second day and everyone of them looked down and said nothing. I will never stay at this location again.”

• The shower was absolutely amazing, as was the bedding.
• Hearing every single door slamming throughout the morning.

“This room was beyond my expectations for a single night stay. When we arrived (late night) the front desk lady had 2 customers she was handling, and with amazing customer service and charm. She resolved the first gentleman's problem, checked in the second gentleman, and then was full of energy, wit and charm while checking me into my room as well. I was very impressed with her. My wife and I made it just in time to use the workout room as well, we also enjoyed the game room with a game of ping pong the next morning after breakfast. The showers were amazing, the shower head, the roominess of the curtain it was a wonderful cleaning experience, as well as sleeping. The linens and mattress felt amazing and truly gave us a fantastic night's sleep. Breakfast truly was one of the best things about it. There were so many things to choose from and filling. It was a very hospitable time.”

“It was in a nice strip of hotels. The staff was friendly and the room was generally clean. It was quite a walk to the pool next door and a little noisy in the hall at night. The breakfast was nice.”

“Holiday Inn Express Springfield is in an excellent location for meetings, dining etc. The rooms were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was far beyond any expectations of a free breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for your next stay in Springfield, IL.”

• The breakfast was good.
• Other guests were loud at 1 am and housekeeping would knock to see if we were still there.

“Overall the hotel was good. They had a good breakfast in the morning, a variety of things to eat. The room had an odd smell to it. Other guest on the same floor was loud, yelling in the hallways early into the morning.”

• It was very clean, and the staff was very nice and helpful.
• The pool experience got ruined because they let over 100 6th graders in the pool. My daughter couldn't swim, and the why we went.

“I was told by the manager that I would get a free hotel stay because our pool experience got ruined. I was told I would receive it in the mail. That has been over a month ago and I still haven't received it. Where is it?”

“The hotel was fine, but we arrived late and they started their night reports, so we had to sit in the lobby at 1:00 a.m. for 20 minutes before they could check us in. We were very tired, so it seemed like forever.”

• It's hard to keep rooms/bathrooms hair free and clean.

“This is a nice hotel just off the highway, so the location is convenient. The breakfast was good and includes yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, cinnamon rolls, eggs, etc. The room was very clean, with lots of pillows (marked firm and soft). It was a nice place to stay.”

“There was no pool, odd for a holiday inn, we had to go next door to the crown plaza, their hot tub was so low on water that the jet more or less blew the water straight out, made it almost impossible to enjoy the hot tub, the pool was almost to cold to swim in. Our toilet would not flush in the morning; I called maintenance, and then had to call again because no one showed up. Not in any hurry to go back to this hotel.”

• The staff is incredibly customer focused and friendly.
• It's starting to show its age. Keep up on maintenance.

• I liked the room accommodations and the spacious dining area and good food for breakfast.
• We initially missed the turn to the hotel and so had to retrace our steps. Perhaps there is a clear sign, directing clients. If so, we missed it.

“The motel was clean and attractive. We enjoyed the dining area and breakfasts. We especially liked a Lithuanian waitress in the breakfast room, who was extremely cordial and helpful.”

• Gave me use of the pool at the hotel next door.
• The breakfast attendant did not keep the food available for the amount of people using it.

“The hotel was very nicely located right off the main highway. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They gave you access to the pool at the hotel next door which was very nice. There were plenty of restaurants all in the general vicinity to choose from. I would stay at this hotel again if I have the opportunity.”

• The desk clerk was very professional & efficient.
• Alarm clock in empty room next door rang at 6:00 AM & woke us up.

“The parking lot was safe with guarded security. An alarm clock in an empty room next door woke us up at 6:00 AM and rang for 2 hours before I was forced to get up and call the desk. It was very annoying. The bathroom counter and bathtub/shower was not sparkling clean.”

• At check in the registrar took the time to make sue each person in line to check in or out was happy and had good service.
• The toilet had running water all night. I told the front desk in the morning.

“My room was clean. The front desk staff was above average, and focused on good service. Breakfast was good. I didn't leave hungry. The hotel is just an easy drive to the university. I would consider staying there again.”

• Front desk lady was nice-tried to give us our $ back since we didn't even stay the night there!
• There are no amenities! No pool, Jacuzzi, no large tubs in the rooms.

“They spent all their $ on the outside of the building & nothing on amenities! No pool, little bathtubs in the rooms, no DVD players or VCR's, no Jacuzzi¿s, boring exercise rooms, ping pong table with no paddles or balls. Best of all a crap smear in the toilet when we arrived!”

“We made our reservation for a room for us and one for our brother and his wife. Then we tried to add the previous night just for us at the same rate and were not able to accomplish that through computer or phone. What we got was great but wishes we could have the additional night.”

• Dirty bathroom ,no bath towels and no remote control in room water standing in the floor.

“We first had to go get the TV remote from front desk then I took a shower got out no bath towels we called the front desk we never got them we went and got them then there was still water all over the bathroom floor the next morning. They did give me points for a free room next visit. I was not happy with them there was no manager on duty that night or the next day.”
