“I would booed a room here again and refer you to anyone staying in the area. We had a great time in Newport Beach” Sep 6, 2008 by
Aura from La Mirada, CA
“Staff was nice but the location of the hotel was not convenient. We went to the pool and they were out of towels. The Jacuzzi was dirty and was never cleaned although we complained.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Susan H. from Alta Loma, CA
“They took care of the problem with the toilet and moved us another room and gave us a breakfast.” Aug 29, 2008 by
Martha from Paramount, CA
“The hotel was very clean and well maintain. Too bad is a little bit to far from the beach and rest of recreational areas.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Ken from Los Altos, CA
“Great hotel for a great price, excellent customer service, I would be a repeat customer.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Hazel from Concord, NH
“This hotel was in good proximity to the beach. I would not consider it upscale in anyway. The fitness room was just that. No equipment other than bikes/treadmill/stair stepper. As a frequent business traveler I need some type of weights/resistance equipment. Even a stability ball would have been better than nothing.” Aug 21, 2008 by
George from Leona Valley, CA
“The hotel was well maintained the staff was friendly, I would have liked to be closer to the coast.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Deborah from Riverside, CA
“Our room was nicely decorated and inviting. We felt that the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Thank you for that!” Aug 5, 2008 by
Jason from Phoenix, AZ
“This hotel is very outdated and needs to be attended to. The coffee maker in my room did not work. Holes in the ceiling were patched up with tissue paper. AC made loud noises. No hot water at times. Will not stay again unless stranded at airport.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Marie from Littleton, CO
“Beautiful hotel and mighty sturdy, as we experienced a 5.4 earthquake and on the 6th floor we just swayed back and forth. The rooms are beautifully appointed, as is the lobby. The bedding is white cotton and feels very clean and cozy. The sliding doors are old and there is no sound barrier between the room and the busy street below or the busy airport. The bathroom floor was getting a little sandy and bad by the end of the trip. For the price it was a nice hotel, but I don't think I'd stay at this location again since sleep is pretty important, and it's difficult with the external noises.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Tony from Brea, CA
“This would barely rate a 2-star and most of that because of the location in Newport.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Jamie from Clovis, CA
“I would recommend Radisson again, not I was not pleased with its location. We wanted to be near the beach.” Jul 19, 2008 by
Joel from Neenah, WI
“Although pool was small and noisy due to air traffic, it was very enjoyable. Hassle free stay, overall, but will not stay again.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Valerie from Van Nuys, CA
“The hotel was great. The location was not very good. We were amidst corporate offices and buildings. The hotel is not in Newport beach, the title is deceiving. It is in Irvine. It just didn't feel like I was on vacation.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Leslie from Hesperia, CA
“Like I said the walls were paper thin, so I could hear doors slamming, toilets flushing, conversations, etc. That particular night I was there, apparently skateboarding competitors were also staying there to compete at the Orange County Fair. The noise level continued on until past 3:00 AM. The hotel staff/security could not contain them, which I thought was unacceptable for this level of hotel. They finally called the police who got things quite around 4:00 AM.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Wendy from Hellertown, PA
“Overall I was completely dissatisfied with this hotel. It is supposed to be 3 star upscale. The room I was in did not have sleep number beds, but rather rocks camouflaged as beds. Also, I could hear everything that my neighbors were doing - even when they were going to the bathroom. That is not upscale. I've had better stays at a motel 6. The only thing this place had going for it was a friendly staff. Be aware, that there is no hope for a good night's sleep here. With the airport across the street, and rooms that have walls of paper, you will hear every sound conceivable (and some not conceivable sounds as well).” Jul 14, 2008 by
Christine from El Centro, CA
“I was not happy. The noise and banging from the remodeling was bad. I thought that here I could get some much needed sleep as I am a professional. The noise went on and on, the elevator was not working when I got there, the ATM machine did not work. I am very unhappy. Plus no newspapers available on the week-end.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Deborah from San Bernardino, CA
“It was over booked and said there was nothing that they could do about it.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Karla from San Diego, CA
“I went with 3 other girlfriends, we're 18 and felt out of place. It was more for business people, since it was so close to the airport.” Jun 1, 2008 by
Doey from Yucaipa, CA
“Very friendly staff, easy check in. Clean room. Comfortable bed. It didn't smell like cig smoke. When taking a shower the water would sometimes get very hot. The hotel is near some night club and we could kind of hear music but not to bad. It is near the airport, so heard some planes but nothing bad, did not bother me at all. The air cond. was a bit loud at first but we figured out to keep it on all the time set on a certain temp and it didn't come on as much. This hotel is totally a non smoking hotel! I hate asking for a non smoking room and it smells like smoke. Not this one! All in all. I would stay there again.” May 28, 2008 by
Jessica from Henderson, NV
“We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel. It was not as close to the beach as we hoped for but it was only about a 5 to 10 min drive to the beach. We got the good room for a night for Memorial weekend so that was a great price considering it was a holiday weekend. We would stay at this hotel again.” May 25, 2008 by
Chris from Pasadena, CA
“The AC didn't work well in the first room and it was during the last heat wave. The hotel was nice enough to check it and when it wasn't an easy fix.” May 22, 2008 by
Des from Corona, CA
“The room was very plain. Nothing was hung on the walls, the coffee table was tiny and very low to the ground. I asked for a hotel in Newport Beach but it ended up being across the street from the Santa Ana airport! This area in my opinion is not my idea of staying down near the beach! Perhaps they could categorized it as being in the SNA airport vicinity instead of as in "Newport Beach".” May 20, 2008 by
Lynn L. from Menlo Park, AR
“Not as I expected. For a 3 star hotel in Newport Beach, I would expect a lot more. Surprisingly, the food in the restaurant was quite good.” May 12, 2008 by
Mark from Phoenix, AZ
“This hotel is a bait and switch. It is in an Irvine Central Orange County location and uses a Newport Beach address to set the trap. I got this hotel on the last time I stayed in this market.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Jen from Shakopee, MN
“Although the location lacked nearby restaurants, the coast is a short 10 minute or so drive. Convenient if you plan to spend time outside of the immediate area!” Feb 19, 2008 by
David from San Dimas, CA
“This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in some bad hotels. The staff had no idea were their hotel was located and got us lost getting there. Once there I met another staff member (not the one that got us lost) and he had filthy hands and dirt under his finger nails as he was handing me a pen to sign in with. The bath room grout was dirty and the shower had such a slow drain I had water up to my ankles the whole time. The room was extremely cramped and they had no business calling this a luxury hotel. It was a horrible experience and ruined a wonderful night.” Aug 13, 2007 by
Lavonne from Bakersfield, CA
“The room was way too expensive for the size. The staff was extremely helpful though. Nice hotel. I've stayed there before, and will again, although not ever - I wish I had checked the visual of the room - in that side of the building. The remodeling done was good, but 2 beds that size in the small room made it crowded and difficult to walk through. Downgrade it. It's definitely not a 3 star. The bar was excellent for the appetizers to munch on. Breakfast was delicious. Wine selection could be better for the price. Location was ok to get to Fashion Island, but I still think over-priced compared to what I've spent for the Marriott Suites on Bay view. No comparison actually for the accommodations.” Feb 12, 2007 by

“O.k. Overall.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 27, 2006 by

“At first appearance, this hotel seems to be exceptional, the common areas are well maintained and beautiful. The bedroom leaves much to be desired. The bed was hard as a rock, the wall paper near the headboard was cut off the wall and the back of the bathroom door had paint smeared on it. The fixtures in the bathroom were old and in disrepair and you could not shut the door to the toilet/ shower area unless you were standing in the bathtub. Overall, the room was like a one star motel with a 4 star hotel price.” Sep 24, 2006 by
Mike from Victoria, BC CA
“One side of hotel is nicer than the other. Not enough outlets in the room.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Cary from Denver, CO
“I had to take cabs from the hotel and back which cost nearly $20 a trip. If you rent a car or have transportation this if a good location. Inside is VERY nice.” Sep 17, 2006 by
Dan from Woodinville, WA
“Not a vacation hotel Across the street from the airport On the eastern most fringes of Newport Beach, six miles from the coast The hotel was "fine" for business. I think you should indicate the type of client a hotel caters too, passing though, business, vacation etc. before you take our money. Other than that I recommend your service to my friends and colleagues.” Sep 13, 2006 by
Sally from Phoenix, AZ
“The hotel was very appealing and clean. The did not smell stale, old or like someone had been smoking in it. The area of course was gorgeous. My son and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. He was very pleased and that is what made all the difference. ” Sep 6, 2006 by
Derek from San Diego, CA
“Over all we had a pleasant stay at the Radisson. I gave a low rating for cleanliness because of the bathroom. It wasn't that it was dirty as much as just old looking. The door was the type that slides into the wall. I'm not sure if it was off its track or just warped but we had a hard time opening and closeting it. It also had huge scrap marks in it from repeated use. My only other complaint was the shower. I'm 6 feet tall and the shower head was about 5 feet tall. I had to squat down to wash my hair.” Aug 18, 2006 by
Travis from Emeryville, CA
“The hotel's fine. I was excited to have a 3 star hotel accept my price of $150 especially as 'median price' for the area was much higher. However, when I logged back in and looked for my hotel specifically, I found that I could have booked my room for an advertised price of $130 by AVOIDING the 'money-saving' name your own price method! Chalk it up to negligence on my part, or failing to do the proper research, but I was greatly disappointed by the fact that not only did I NOT save up to 50% off the advertised price, but actually LOST money your price' method. This, plus the fact that at 3 stars this hotel was only marginally better than the last 2 star hotel I stayed at, AND the fact that I was not able to specify the exact location of the hotel all adds up to 'not a very good value.' I won't be using this feature on the site again anytime soon.” Aug 11, 2006 by
Linda from Covina, CA
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the beach area. The hotel is located in very accommodating surroundings. Restaurants, free ways, dancing etc. very OC atmosphere Very pleased with the hotel, excellent.” Aug 9, 2006 by
Andrew from Santa Monica, CA
“Been to, wouldn't go back.” Aug 8, 2006 by
Rebecca from Fresno, CA
“This Hotel, - FOR BEING IN NEWPORT BEACH, was disappointing. It desperately needed updating, and didn't have the "Sleep Number Beds" like we'd expected. When we asked if they did provide those type of beds, they said that is only on their "Club Floor" (for $20.00 extra, per room - it would include free hoer' duerves and drinks, free breakfast, robes, nicer furnishings, etc.). So, we said "Great! Upgrade us." Well, they tried and said they only have King-sized beds on the Club Floor. We were there with our family and it wouldn't have been practical for us to only have one bed in our room. So, for the most part, we were expecting a nicer hotel, especially when it was rated in your ratings as at least a 3-star hotel. There's no way that was a 3-Star Room! Sorry, but we were very disappointed. We do thank-you for asking our opinion, though. We didn't think it mattered what we think.” Aug 1, 2006 by
Belinda from Los Angeles, CA
“Did not meet my expectations of a 3 star hotel. Room was small, restroom was tiny - couldn't close door without getting up from toilet seat. Vanity and sink area was tiny. The mattress was soiled and bled through up onto the sheets. Pool area was inconvenient to get to. Locations were too non-specific. Location was 10 miles from area I desired. I couldn't change my date of arrival. Frustrating!!!” Jul 17, 2006 by
Shannon from Seminole, CA
“The hotel was clean and adequate. The photos of the rooms online were not consistent with the room decor. The free wireless access is a good feature for business travelers, but it wasn't working the first day. The pool area was nice. The accommodations were comfortable but not anything to get excited about. There were no extra special amenities It is a functional hotel but not overly enticing.” Jun 12, 2006 by
Shawn from San Francisco, CA
“Hotel was just OK rather pricey for the facility.” Jun 3, 2006 by
Tracey from San Ramon, CA
“I would not recommend this hotel. It is not renovated, the staff doesn't know anything about the property and the location is terrible for a non-airport traveler.” May 20, 2006 by
Kerry from Whittier, CA
“We spent our anniversary at this hotel, it was great, the room service was great, food was very good! will stay here again soon! Kerry petzoldt & magalys Castillo, soon to be mrs petzoldt. Thank you for asking! this really shows us that you care about your customers! that's a great thing in today's world!” Jan 3, 2006 by
Armando from Pasadena, CA
“I checked out in the middle of the night due to the stench in my room and the party happening next door. Front desk was not willing to help. ” Oct 13, 2005 by
Cecile from Springfield, IL
