• Just one word - Exceptional.
• Just one word - nothing.

“Incredibly beautiful property and location, all upscale everything. Activity area (pool, etc.) was significant in size and perfect for families or for simple lounging. Food service was a bit spendy, but well prepared. Service was exceptional. An excellent choice for anyone traveling to the Tucson, AZ area.”

“Beautiful! A high end resort with beautiful panorama views. The observation deck was an incredible view of the City of Tucson. We explored and found an 80 foot waterfall only yards away from the main grounds. Impeccable grounds and exquisite decor. I loved our stay here and will be going back again!”

• Spacious rooms, friendly staff, comfortable beds!
• $9 parking fee when lot was 75% empty, seemed like utility doors were slamming all night.

“Overall, this resort hotel was more than satisfactory. It's a bit of a maze to figure out at first, and I would therefore not recommend to someone who has difficulty walking, but that also provided privacy and exercise, so we actually liked it.”

• Unable to use coffee maker in room.

“Enjoyed the view and beds were very comfortable but I was not able to get the coffee maker to work for the 2 days I stayed there. Housekeeping came by to early to clean the room.”

• The shower door allowed water to leak out during use.

“Although the hotel's location was further than we expected, it was an excellent presentation in terms of staff friendliness and overall hotel comfort and cleanliness. By far one of best hotels/resorts we have ever experienced and will definitely consider another stay in the future.”

• Beautiful view of city lights.

“The room was amazing, the view was breathtaking of the city and the mountains. The bathroom had a huge 2 person tub. The hotel grounds had trails with all the desert landscaping leading you to the waterfall in the back of the resort. The lounge/bar area was great, the food was excellent and the live Jazz singer and piano player were great. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, even when I got sick on my trip, security opened the store at night and delivered some much needed medicine to our room.”

• The location and scenery is fantastic!
• Our room had several large bugs!!

“The man that checked us in was quite rude. He was snooty and acted as though I had gotten my room for free and proceeded to say "OH, you go the room through Priceline." This was in a very sarcastic manner. He then charged us for parking and we asked when this came in affect because we stayed in the same hotel through Priceline in March and we did not have to pay for parking. All he said was, "I have been working here 4 years, and we have always charged for parking and I will not go back and not charge you for it!" Our room had several large bugs (mosquitos, large spiders, etc.). I am glad we didn't take our daughter with us as this is kind of dangerous....”

• Large meeting or lounge areas in lobby.
• Extra charges for just about everything.

“Very nice grounds. Surprised there was no refrigerator in room. Shower glass is modern meaning it only covers half the enclosure. Easy to get floor wet with this modern arrangement. I checked with management, it really is supposed to be only one Paine of glass, not two.”

• The bath tub was large enough to fit 2 people comfortably.
• They didn't spend enough time cleaning the tub from the previous guest, which was a little disturbing.

• Hotel staff was very very helpful and polite, and the room was perfect for our celebrating our 1st Anniversary.
• I think the food is somewhat pricey, especially breakfast.

“Beautiful hotel nestled into the hillside of the mountains. Day hike straight from the room. Luxurious rooms and awesome bathrooms, very friendly helpful staff. First class experience, look to stay here every time I return to Tucson.”

• Setting was gorgeous, accommodations were luxurious, and staff was unfailingly helpful.
• Absolutely nothing.

“This hotel is slightly off the beaten track but the setting breathtaking. The rooms were luxurious, the amenities were innumerable and all of the highest quality (pool, spa, fitness center, tennis, etc.), and the service without fault. There is even a beautiful exercise trail with fitness stations. And arrival gifts for the kids. They have thought of everything! We only wished our stay could have been longer!”

“This was one of the best stays for my husband and me. I didn't want to leave and one night was not enough. The walkway to the waterfall was awesome. The nighttime atmosphere was very romantic. Room was great with private patio. We definitely want to come back next year for our anniversary.”

• Magnificent food. The best I have ever had in my life.

“Beautifully nestled in the Catalina hills. Encouraged you to walk the area and use the outdoor facilities. Inside was not excessive but perfectly decorated. One felt very comnfortable . The staff could not do enough for you. Wonderful place. A gem.”

• The location and design are beautiful!
• The bed was kind of hard and a little saggy.

“The location and rooms are probably the best in the Tucson area! I called ahead to request specific bedding in the 3 rooms we booked, and they were very friendly and helpful in accommodating us. This resort has the biggest bathtubs I've ever seen! Only minor complaint was that the bed wasn't the most comfortable. We did have a nice stay, all in all though.”

• Tucked away in the Foothill Mountains, the views are breath taking.
• No negative comments.

“The resort is tucked into the mountains. Each room is spacious and comfortable. The oversize tub and TV in the bathrooms was a hit with our daughter. The Sunday Brunch was fantastic.”

• Location. High quality property. Relaxing.
• Room reeked of burned wood from BBQ below. Hard and lumpy bed.

“Wonderful place overall, but I was surprised that the BBQ stench issue was even allowed. Upon walking around, we noticed that the BBQ's were merely pushed in below the building (& our room) without being previously extinguished, and remained there to burn out (still smoldering in the evening).”

“The stay started out nice, but ended up with a scorpion in the bed which stung my husband twice. This is unacceptable for a resort hotel. Even motels don’t have scorpions in the sheets. The incident happened around 6 o’clock in the morning and we left immediately after. The front desk did nothing for us besides call security. Nice anniversary present. Won’t stay here again or recommend to friends.

• A top resort where we had to pay for parking and internet - petty! I would go someplace else because of this. It should be included.

• The setting in Ventana Canyon is spectacular. The location offers a lot of options.
• The food service at the pool area was a little unresponsive.

“The Loews Ventana Canyon offers a wonderful escape in its lush surroundings. Since it is right up in the canyon, the hotel gets more than its share of insects and reptiles. My son had the time of his life collecting critters on the grounds and nearby trails.”

• The location is superb; the setting unbeatable.

“This is a perfect location for business or pleasure. The staff is friendly. The hotel is kid friendly but keep an eye on the kids as there is plenty of cactus around.”

“Ventana Canyon is such a beautiful and relaxing setting, nestled at the base of the Catalina Mountains. The pool area was incredibly clean and so comfortable with no expense spared. Truly, this hotel welcomes you from the instant you drive up and see it.”

• The bed was so comfortable, the tub was huge, and room service food was very good :).
• Our shower had only one door lol. Two of the restraints were closed.

“It was a great weekend get away, we would do it again (but without our 10 month old; it did not feel like a true vacation).”

• The scenery and landscaping were fantastic.
• The pool was very small, and with too many kids.

“This hotel is great for a getaway, and is close to beautiful mountains and hiking trails. It is a fair distance from downtown Tucson, though, so unless you like driving, plan on staying at the resort. There are very nice restaurants and shopping nearby.”

• Food is pricey.

“I've stayed at Ventana Canyon before and have loved it. It is a great property and a treat to have the opportunity to spend time there again. The resort itself is an experience and a destination.”

• The rooms were comfortable and spacious. There was much available to do on the resort grounds.
• They charged $9 per night for parking and the fitness cost $10 per person to use.

• The grounds are beautiful. Surrounded by nature with a path that leads to a romantic waterfall.
• The rooms were a bit rundown and didn't feel clean. The linens and pillows didn't smell fresh.

“The location is in a beautiful, natural desert setting with a walking path that winds it's way to a waterfall. There is a nice lap pool, tennis court, spa/gym and large pool and Jacuzzi for families. The bathrooms are very nice with large garden bathtubs. The bed was comfortable but I was disappointed by the smelly bed linens and pillows. The room just didn't feel or smell clean.”

• Peaceful, luxurious, nice pool and excellent room service.
• No refrigerator in room.

“We stayed at Ventana Canyon Resort for a romantic weekend getaway. It was very nice. The only problem we had was the computers were down when we checked in and so we had to wait about an hour to get into our room. We went and had dinner at the Flying V while we waited so it was no big deal. (The food was delicious). We especially enjoyed the 24 hour room service and 24 hour pool. The staff was extremely pleasant and attentive, we felt very pampered.”

• The expansive grounds were amazingly beautiful!
• Air conditioner in the room was not as powerful as I would have liked.

“The grounds of this resort are just amazing. It's nestled in the foothills overlooking the city, and it fits in with the surrounding area. The spa and health club, while I did not try it, looks to be very comfortable, well-equipped and relaxing. There are even a couple tennis courts for your enjoyment.”
