• It was quiet.
• The night desk clerk was giving free bottled water. The day desk clerk was rude when asked about water.

“It was okay. I was there because my daughter was ill from chemo therapy and needed to be someplace with Air Conditioning. I was told the rooms had this but our room only had a fan in the unit that worked. It was after 8 pm when we arrived and it was too late to get it fixed. Overall, it was one step above Motel 6.”

“This hotel is tired. It was clean but is need of renovation. The full breakfast was limited. But the staff was very helpful and friendly. Not a high star rating but yet was a somewhat full service hotel. Not what I remembered from staying at Country Inns in the past.”

• The breakfast buffet was very good. The man that was overseeing the food was wonderful.
• I asked for more towels and they told me I had to go to the front desk to get them.

“This is not a 2 1/2 star hotel! The rooms were gross with peeling paint, sticky carpet, scratchy sheets, an air conditioner that was so loud we couldn't use it, and the hotel was located right next to the freeway.”

• The staff was friendly.
• Not enough non-smoking rooms. Small un-firm beds.

“Negatives: This hotel needs a face-lift. The hallway carpets are old and worn. Many hallways reek of smoke. The elevator near our room didn't work. The beds are small and squishy. Our bathroom smelled like fresh paint, but it didn't look like a new bathroom. The television screen was green. Positives: The entrance was not bad, the hotel clerks were nice and our kids had fun at the pool.”

• The free hot breakfast & staff there was great!
• The elevator seemed really old.

“The hotel was comfortable, clean and the room layout was nice. It came with a fridge and microwave oven and I enjoyed the large vanity with mirror outside the bathroom. I would recommend the hotel as a nice place to stay, especially for an extended visit. The free breakfast was very good.”

• The staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful.
• The room was a bit shabbier than I expected.

“The people, as usual, are great, but this Country Inn and Suites is markedly less nice than the one a few miles north, in Ventura. The free wireless is very nice, though a huge plus.”

• Bathrooms wallpaper peeling and smelled like there is mold.

“They honor special requests and will acccomodate you when feasible: non smoking, extra blanket, and quiet room. Very personable as a female solo traveler I fell secure.”

• We were given a smoking room & after much objection, hotel reluctantly gave us another room then they charged for the room erroneously.

“Staff was non responsive to guest needs. kitchen food area was dirty. Staff served burnt popcorn and when I asked if they realized it was burnt, she shrugged her shoulders. We were first given a smoking room and hotel staff at first refused to give us a different room. Hotel had no customer comment or feedback process. Staff was generally non responsive to guest needs.”

“Good location right at a freeway exit. Room has a microwave and refrigerator which is nice addition. Carpeting and bathroom are showing some wear. Hot breakfast and afternoon drinks are better than some other hotels in this class.”

• The staff was lovely, everyone one of them!
• The front doors weren't locked at night, anyone could step in who wasn't a guest. I was concerned for the young women working front desk. Mentioned.

“Staff were all hard working and very helpful. The carpets in hallway very dated and worn. Some of the towels very worn out. The maid was lovely in giving me nicer towels, as I declined room service for privacy and just tipped for extra towels for my stay. The people in breakfast area were just wonderful.”

• Carpet in room was stained with grease in numerous places.

“This is at present primarily a hotel for trade workers on construction projects at the nearby military base. With this clientele typically comes grease stained carpeting, borish behavior, work trucks in the parking area, etc. The non-contractor clientele are usually placed on the third (top) floor but even the carpets in these rooms have grease stains. The hotel is located on the frontage road of an eight lane highway with the attendant noise. Room size and counter space in bathroom is excellent.”

• Could smell the smoke from the smoking allowed rooms.

“It was a very pleasant stay, large room with 2 queen size beds. Heater was noisy, but otherwise it was a very nice stay. I would like to stay there again when we travel down south.”

• When I requested a no smoking room the clerk was very rude over the phone.

“Very poor 3 star property. Surprised it was actually a Country Inn and Suites brand. Property seemed old and needs remodeling to be a 3 star hotel. Not one aspect was a 3 star. There was even someone's old dirty sock in my room. Not sure how the maid missed that one. They had a free "happy hour" that was worthy of a 1 star or 2 star rating at best. Plastic solo cups for the drinks, a couple baskets of pretzels and a veggie tray. If the property was rated a 2 star I would rate it as an average to low 2-star hotel.”

• Old AC unit was noisy, and freeway noise very prominent.

“Check in was simple, hotel was very clean a little worn, plenty of off street parking, hot cooked complimentary breakfast was good, with plenty of condiments. Other than freeway noise I would stay again.”

“Loved the staff, and the lobby and room was very clean. The hotel was easy to find and near shopping, etc. The parking lot was well lit and I felt it was in a safe area. The bathroom needed some touch up work done to it. There were lots of towels and comfortable beds.”

“This Hotel was adequate. The mattress/bedding/towels were not very good - I would expect a little more from a 2 and 1/2 star rating. There was mold in the bathroom and tub.”

• The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked.
• Breakfast was gross. No supplies in my room. Front desk grumpy.

“If you need a place to sleep, only this is your place. The beds were nice. Don't count on the breakfast which was dried up scrambled eggs, hard sausages, cold potatoes, and grumpy service. The do it yourself was inadequate as well. Noisy freeway right next door, so bring earplugs.”

“The location is right off of Hwy 101, which was excellent. However, there are no shops around it. The hotel was very mediocre, the room was smoky and decor cheap and ugly. The crowd there seems to be me either families on their way to Disneyland or senior citizens on a road trip stop.”

“Room large, but a bit used. Worst part of stay was someone attempting to get into our room at 2:30 am. Then our phone rang and by the time I found the phone, the party had hung up. Then someone managed to unlock our door and tried to force it open. I was able to rescuer the door and promptly called the front desk. It turned out that the desk clerk was trying to force the door open, as he didn't think that it was occupied and was trying to place a late night guest. No apologies! He wanted to know our name and why we were in the room. His parting comment was, I guess I'll have to find them another room. When I complained to the front desk the next morning the clerk on duty shrugged off the incident. When I asked for the manager I was told, He's not here. Not a good experience. This hotel has good potential but obviously is poorly managed.”

• Excellent location, room was very spacious and clean. The staff was exceptional especially with the one small complain concerning the A/C. Good breakfast.

“The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I had a complaint about the A/C making noise. The maintenance person was there not more than 10 minutes later. The pool was very clean. The room is spacious and clean. Although the hotel is located near the freeway, the noise was not a problem. The breakfast was excellent. We will make sure to stay here on our next visit.”

“Very nice hotel that exceeded our expectations for a hotel with a 2.5 star rating. Each room had a mini-fridge and a microwave. The bedroom was clean and well furnished, and the hotel was very clean overall. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a full scale restaurant onsite. Instead it is a mini-breakfast area, but at least it served a free HOT breakfast (eggs, sausage, and hash browns) and it had a juice machine, Danishes, and cereals.”

“We were given a smoking room which stunk. The freeway 101 was right outside the window and loud trucks rolling by all through the night sounded like they were coming through our room.”
