• The staff was excellent, making this a great stay!
• Though the bathroom was fancy, the faucet was awkward.

“Conveniently located in the Dupont Circle area, close to transportation, fine dining, shopping, and meeting areas, this hidden beauty is worth the repeat stay. Though the rooms are "boutique" sized, they are very accessible and tastefully decorated. The staff is what puts this place over the top, treating each guest royally!”

• Rooms are rather small, although well appointed and clean!

• Wonderful staff. Comfortable room. Reasonably good health facilities. Good location.
• Printer was not working during my entire stay. Housekeeping typically did not clean the room until 4 p.m.

“Overall, I had an excellent experience. My two complaints had to do with the printer in the business center and housekeeping. The staff was very gracious about printing documents for me but over the course of 5 days, the printer should have been working. In as much as I was mostly not in the room. I couldn't understand why housekeeping took so long to clean the room. However, all staff members were polite and helpful.”

• The room was too small. Just enough room to walk around the bed.

“The Palomar is in a wonderful location near Dupont circle. There are many great restaurants and points of interest in the area. The metro is only a couple of blocks away. The hotel is gorgeous, our room was immaculate and the free wine in the lobby at five was a bonus. We had a great stay.”

• The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.
• There was a dog barking in the room across from us.

“My only real critics were the barking of a dog in the room across from ours. The staff was courteous. The neighborhood is nice and convenient to the museums. On Sunday morning we went to an out door greenmarket around the corner. I bought some beautiful produce.”

• Large sophisticated room with very comfortable bed, very clean.
• Rather too stark reception areas. Trying too hard to be hip.

“Upscale, well located, comfortable hotel with nice amenities like coffee tea in the am in lobby, wine in late afternoon (free). Staff was very courteous. Rooms are large and well appointed, with comfortable beds and great linens, bath more than adequate. Well designed and sophisticated atmosphere.”

• The overall design in everything, the friendly staff and the spacious room.
• The work out room appeared modest.

“The hotel was very convenient for us as we were visiting our daughter living a block away. In a very nice neighborhood, the hotel provided clean, elegant rooms, a restaurant that wasn't pricey, a wonderful happy hour with endless wine and finger food and a very friendly staff of well trained people.”

• Courtesy happy hour from 5 6pm, courtesy coffee station in am.
• Commented that we were "lucky" to have a room for the low rate we got on!

“A little confusion upon check in because we asked for two beds in room and they didn't have it available. They wanted to charge us an upgrade fee or extra for a roll away bed. However, they did not charge us extra and even gave us a larger room. The place was very "hip" and friendly. It was great to see the pets (dogs) coming and going.”

• The maid was nice.
• The room smelled like an animal had wet the carpet; the dog blanket was full of animal hairs. The tea service always ran out of hot water early.

• Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The rooms were modern, comfortable and clean!
• I honestly can't think of one thing that didn't meet or exceed my expectations.

“I can't say enough about this hotel. The room we stayed in was so comfortable. Everything about the hotel was comfortable and inviting from the moment we drove up to the hotel. The bed, the pillows, the hotel staff, the wine tasting hour, the pool, etc. It was all so relaxing. It was a great place to come back to at night after a long day of exploring all the many sights in Washington DC. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone!”

“I stayed at this hotel last year--night and day difference this year. Many things inoperative in my room--no morning paper and if you didn't make it downstairs by 9:00a.m. No Coffee. Huge difference in overall quality and guest services.”

• Loved the free WIFE access and the modern, hip vibe of the hotel.
• Basic rooms are very small.

“Very upscale feel with a modern, urban, hip vibe. Free happy hour, very nice room amenities (including free WIFI). Basic rooms are small in size and there is no shop in hotel for snacks or sundries. Overall, though, great hotel and different from your normal higher-end chain.”

“This hotel is outstanding and conveniently located near Dupont Circle near the metro. It attracts an artsy client, but my wife and 2 yr old had a great time and visit. I would love to stay here again.”

• Housekeeping knocking on the door numerous times before our 12/noon checkout time.

“Received an excellent price. Metro stop is only 1 block away. Our room was huge with a nice business desk/work area, very comfortable queen bed, pillows, and linens. Thoroughly enjoyed this high-end, modern, and boutique style hotel.”

• The bed and bedding were up to par.
• Tiny room, awkward bathroom, unfriendly staff, evening wine reception ends early and after work, no movie channels, etc.

“The staff seem unhappy and therefore are unfriendly. Poor service. Poor atmosphere. The room could not have been smaller. I would not stay there again.”

“An art deco atmosphere and friendly service greets you upon arriving at the hotel. The bed is plush and the room has superior linens and towels. A robe is hung in the closet to be used during your stay. The free internet access is very nice as well. However, the room is cramped and without a full length mirror.”

“Great hotel with a great staff. Service and amenities were above the norm. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to D.C. that would like to be in a great neighborhood with quick access to public transportation and looking to get a nice feel of the locals. The evening wine and morning coffee are great ways of starting and ending a perfect day or evening in D.C. I will be back to enjoy this hotel again.”

• The lobby has the coolest music playing! World/jazz/fusion.
• The rooms were gorgeous, but a little small.

“We loved this hotel and would recommend it highly for people on a lover's holiday or on business (I wouldn't want to waste this cool experience worrying about children). The rooms are small but chic, modern, and tastefully decorated. Free wine (high quality) reception in the evening as well as free coffee and tea in the morning.”

• Honest tea in the mini-bar; good internet; good desk chair.
• Inadequate elevators, one of which squeaked; put me on a smoking floor.

“This is really a blend of a 3- and a 4-star hotel. It used to be a Ramada, and they've done a great job of classing it up... But it still has just three tiny, creaky elevators, no grand lobby area, etc. Many nice touches as a top-notch boutique hotel. Except for the elevator (and windows that don¿t open), you'll be very happy here.”

• Very comfortable rooms and bed. Nice decorated with wild animal theme.
• Not having coffee in the room. I did not enjoy having to dress and go to the lobby for morning coffee.

• The service was great, specially the concierge.
• There was a major street construction in front of the hotel.

“My wife arrived at the Hotel before check-in time so the bedroom was not ready. When I arrived she was in a good mood because the people from the hotel talked to her and suggested her to see some places near the hotel while she waited for the room. The bedroom was great with a comfortable bed. We dine everyday in places suggested by the concierge and they were all great. The hotel is 2 blocks away from the metro station which was very convenient. We also used their gym which is small but enough for a good exercise. We felt very safe walking around at night and we loved the complimentary wine at 5pm.”

• Can't think of anything!

“This hotel certainly met our expectations of a 4 star hotel. Its location was central to our weekend plans. Their happy hour and morning coffee arrangement were welcome and enjoyed. Our unique robes in our rooms were a fun addition to the decor. We will stay here again and certainly recommend this hotel. Thanks.”

• The entire room was incredibly comfortable and beautiful.
• Absolutely nothing, we intend to return to this hotel.

“The hotel was more than we had hoped for, very comfortable and indeed, a beautiful hotel and the location could not be beat, we ate at restaurants in the neighbor that were cultural to the area and not food chains, the entire experience was exceptional.”
