• A little further off highway than we realized.

• Courtyard by Marriott is an attractive alternative to paying for 4 star hotels.
• There is nothing I did not like about this hotel

“Exceeded my expectations for a 2.5 star hotel. The hotel had free internet, free parking and $10 breakfast (hot/cold buffet and an egg/waffle station).”

• Great breakfast buffet, nice adjoining rooms.
• Should've had a refrigerator and air conditioner cover fell off and scared the heck out of us!

“Exiting the hotel was extremely inconvenient! Had to drive all the way around the U of DE campus to get out. Staff was friendly. Hotel was very clean. We tried to conserve water but the housekeeper removed our towels (that were hanging to dry) daily.”

• Spacious, well appointed room, very helpful and friendly staff, lobby area was very relaxing.
• The laboratory/sink area was to small with no room for personal items.

“This is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms, lobby area and patio with very nice. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Plan to stay there again when I return to the area.”

• The staff was excellent, from the desk clerk to the housekeeping staff.
• I can't think of anything.

“Easy to get to from the freeway, but hard to get from there to other places because of one-way streets. Definitely worth the hassle, though. I've never met a more friendly or helpful desk staff.”

• The prices at the snack store were extremely high.

“Great hotel, a bit out of the center of Newark. Only complaint was the prices of the snacks at the little snack area. A Capri Sun juice, which come in a box of 10 for $2 at the store, cost $3 for one pouch! Other than that, I would certainly stay again.”

• Very friendly staff, cute displays, gym, big room.
• Noisy refrigerator, awkward location of microwave.

“This hotel is on the University of Delaware campus and has lots of extra touches that make your stay very pleasant. The staff is young and friendly and eager to provide assistance. The lobby is warm and inviting with magazines, a fireplace, coffee bar and comfy seating. My room was large and well-kept. I will use this hotel again and try the Marriott chain more often.”

• The room was very clean, they also had a local shuttle service.
• Some of the hotel staff was not very helpful and the restaurant was pretty terrible.

“Very clean, comfortable and safe hotel to stay in on business or if you need to get to University of Delaware. However, complaints or questions I had were sometimes answered quickly and politely and occasionally rudely with a hang-up. The hotel restaurant although a great perk, ended up being very sub-par. The pasta I ordered had approximately a bottle of olive oil in it and the other dishes were similarly greasy.”

“The hotel was extremely clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very large as was my bathroom. The beds were also large and very comfortable. In ten years of travel throughout the eastern part of the United States, this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The value was incredible.”

• I can say it was one of the best travel experiences we have had in regard to lodging.
• I have no negative comments.

“We are seniors and travel medium distances several times annually. This was one of the best experiences for my wife and me. Everything we needed was provided. Pool, dining, excellent rooms, great bathing room and Ares. It was great. Friendly staff ready if necessary to go the extra mile to assist.”

“For the price this is a fabulous hotel. I really enjoy staying here. My daughter got sick that evening and the hotel staff brought me up some medication in the middle of the night. Great job.”

• Very thin walls - could hear people talking in the hall and the elevator.

“Great hotel - very spacious rooms. My only negative feedback is that the walls are super thin. I could hear every word people said in the hall and I was near the elevator so I heard that as well. Location is great - seemed to be a lot of young kids and teenagers at the hotel.”

• No internet in the room, although it will be changed from December.

• Front desk staff was excellent.

“My plane from Seattle to Philadelphia was three hours late so I didn't get to the hotel until 10:30pm. All regular rooms were taken so they gave me a handicapped suite "hospital type" shower which doesn't really work for a bath girl. Not really the fault of the hotel. Everything else was perfect.”

• Very clean and new, staff was very helpful. Pool and spa. Convenient to university and town.
• Did not have room service for meals. On both occasions, the restaurant took an hour to prepare a hamburger or club sandwich.

“I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations We had a king size bed, and the hotel and the room were very clean. I was surprised to see a pool and spa and the workout machines were very up to date and clean. The restaurant was downstairs but there was no room service. It took a long time to get the food at the restaurant (1 hour for a sandwich or burger), but it was very well prepared food.”

• Dirty linens in the sofa bed.

“There were a few glitches during our stay (initially the front desk could not find a room for us, and there were dirty sheets bunched up in the sleep sofa), but the hotel staff strived to make things right. The hot breakfast buffet, though not included in the price of the room, was a definite plus. We also enjoyed using the fitness room, indoor pool, and spa ' all of which appeared to be clean and well-maintained. Because of the excellent service, we would stay here again despite some minor problems.”
