• The beds were so comfy and the parking was free!
• The shower curtain rings were bad.

“The beach is a short walk from the hotel which is great. If you are looking for nightlife this is not the place to go. However, if you are looking for a relaxing getaway this is the place. The rooms were very large and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful and parking was FREE! We had a great trip.”

• Manager was a very nice person and very accommodating. Breakfast and facilities were comfortable and clean. Nice exercise room.
• Whirlpool bath was part of room with no privacy.

“We had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. Manager is a very nice gentleman and committed to meeting you every need. Breakfast buffet is nicely done. All things considered we would recommend this hotel to others and would also stay again.”

• This hotel was off the main drive so it gave you a better sense of security.
• There was no cover for the bed - just the sheet and the top comforter.

“It was a nice stay with in ground outside pool and side entrances for convenience.”

• Convenient location.
• The breakfast was a bit frantic. All microwavable products.

“Hard to find towels at pool, needed to get from reception. Workout facilities dated and limited. Good for a quick stay with your family. Pool had mega amounts of chlorine in it. It was an okay hotel, not luxury, but practical.”

• The hotel room decor could be updated.

“The hotel was a great location for beach access and the breakfast was great and enjoyed by the children. The hotel decor could be updated as well as some minor repairs could be done to the rooms.”

• Quiet, big, clean room with large bath area, soft beds, included a microwave and frig.
• Bathroom needed an exhaust fan.

“We were very happy with the overall location and quality of the hotel. Right in the middle of Rehoboth and Ocean city. Quiet and family oriented. Bethany Beach, Holiday Inn Express, is a great place to bring the family for a vacation. Thank you.”

• Outside private shower & changing area by pool, security, quite, clean, great pillows.
• Cheese omelet was over cooked, no balcony.

“This was a wonderful 1st beach vacation for our family, very friendly front desk staff, liked the fact that there were other families there. Not a "party" place-very relaxing & clean.”

• Close to boardwalk.
• Broken exhaust fan in bathroom, broken microwave, breakfast not good.

“The lobby of this hotel is nice. Once we got to our room we found that the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and the microwave was broken. We found ants in the room. Upon notifying the manager about the exhaust fan not working he tried to tell me that it is a very quiet fan and it does work. This is unbelievable because the mirror was steamed up so much that you could tell the fan was not working properly - if not at all. Then the manager told me I must be taking very hot showers. I really don't like it when the mangers make up excuses and try to blame the customer when something is not working. By the way it was 90 degrees outside so I was not taking a very hot shower as he tried to tell me. I told him about the microwave not working and because I did not tell me before we left he could not adjust my bill. We checked in, in the evening and left in the morning. As for the ants I didn't even bother to tell him about them because by now I knew that it would do not good. I at least figured they would adjust my bill for the non working exhaust fan but since I was told by the manager it was working fine he would not adjust my bill.”

• There was no place to sit down to enjoy our breakfast and we had to take it to our room.

• The free breakfast had real food, eggs, biscuits and gravy, etc.
• We had a room that joined another room-it was a bit noisy and didn't feel as private.

• Very clean & comfortable & easy to find.
• Stayed 2 nights & room did not get cleaned, no new clean towels, no tissues.

“Room spacious, clean. Staff friendly. Next day room nor Jacuzzi were cleaned. Towels weren't replaced, trash wasn't removed. Told they were Short staffed. Staff apologized, but gave me clean towels (they didn't remove wet ones), I emptied trash (left in hall, never picked up) I had to replace empty box of tissues in bathroom.”

• Clean, well maintained, friendly & helpful staff, close to beach access.
• The outdoor pool was not open, seasonal main.

“The public areas of the hotel were clean and well maintained, as were the guest rooms. Only a few minor housekeeping errors kept me from rating it higher (as a onetime Hyatt housekeeping manager, I tend to hold all to the standards learned there). Everything worked in the room, the bed was comfortable, and all surfaces looked clean and well dusted. It would have been nice to use the pool, but it was undergoing maintenance. An outdoor pool, quite understandable, but a swim would have topped off the days nicely.”

• The breakfast room was too crowded although service was good.

• Elevators slow. Musty smell in room.

“Great hotel, friendly staff, convenient to beach and boardwalk. Clean rooms but a bit musty. Couldn't open windows and elevators were very slow. Overall, a great place to stay.”

• I liked the fact that everyone was friendly and helpful.
• The continental breakfast should stay open until at least 10:30 and there wasn't an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

• Staff was friendly and accommodating, rooms were large and clean.
• The only disappointment was that the pool did not include a baby pool, but this really wasn't a big deal.

“I'd definitely recommend this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms were larger than average, and were very clean. The hotel was nicely decorated. The location was roughly a block and a half from the beach, within easy walking distance. When we go back to Bethany beach, I will most likely stay at this holiday inn express again. Happy traveling!”

• The pool was nice.
• The room smelled like an ashtray, the staff were surly and unhelpful.

“We had a lousy experience there. We were told when calling the hotel that it's "first come, first serve" when attempting to reserve a non-smoking room. When we arrived, the desk staff said that they had no non-smoking rooms available and we should have reserved one ahead!! The room we got on the first floor smelled like an ashtray. It was so unpleasant we decided to leave a day early only to be told by front desk staff that we'd be charged $50.00 additional. And that's on top of the overpriced room charge we paid for this fleabag!!! The manager later said this was not so, but did not offer us another room. We feel we were treated like 2nd class citizens merely for not paying full price. We won't be returning, obviously.”

• The proximity to the beach and attractions plus the breakfast buffet.
• Smoking room, we are non smokers. Amazing how much you notice the smell of smoke.

“The Holiday Inn Bethany Beach, DE is a clean, modern, no frills hotel just yards from the Atlantic Ocean. The staff is friendly and check-in was quick and easy. The breakfast buffet (muffins, donuts, fruit, cereal, coffee,juice,etc)was well done and was a great way to begin the day. The pool was clean and well staffed.”
