“Great hotel and May 10, 2009 by
David from Meridian,MS
“I drove 550 miles in one day and was turned away at the desk because they overbooked the hotel. I planned on staying 2 nights and they were only overbooked for Saturday night. My room was paid for in advance with no cancellation allowed the last three days. I was placed in another hotel quoted as 2 blocks away which was exactly 7 miles away, in a direction away from the attractions and located on Martin Luther King Blvd. I was very uncomfortable with the location and walking from the main historic area to the hotel at night was dangerous. Never again.” Apr 27, 2009 by
Diane Starr from Homestead,FL
“The hotel was clean, and the room we had was nice. No mini bar, and if you wanted any snacks you had to shop before you returned to the hotel. The gym was good. I worked out 2 of the 3 nights we were there. The only positive was the gym.” Mar 16, 2009 by
Steven from Jackson,GA
“This hotel is me and my wife's favorite, we choose this every time. Is definitely worth the money to stay here they have valet parking and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is very clean.” Feb 13, 2009 by
Ray from Powder Springs
“Upon arrive, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean but very basic; the room was humid but we thought nothing of it since most hotels only use the fan when the room is unoccupied - we turned on the air - medium then went to bed. The room never cooled, we turned the air on high and it still never cooled and the humidity remained very high (about like it was outside). The TV was out of color and the shower curtain would not stay closed - or open to one side, the rod was bent and the curtain now hangs over the toilet. I felt these might be excusable until I asked about checking out early because we were unable to sleep due to the high humidity and warm temp in the room. The front desk apologized and questioned why I didn't have engineering come fix it last night (I assume she must have felt it wasn't that bad if I didn't complain sooner). I then informed her about the vomit in the elevator when she explained it has been there all night. When I asked her to repeat that, she said well, it's been there for about two hours, we'll have house keeping clean it up when they arrive in about an hour. I don't know about you but I can understand equipment failing but for someone to have an attitude like that” Aug 18, 2008 by
Leigh from Yakima, WA
“Room was very clean. Staff was helpful, providing concierge service in the lobby. Pool and hot tub was fine, clean and under-used. Very relaxing stay, very convenient to everything in the Historical District.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Bill from Stingler, OK
“Good choice for visiting historical district, city market and river street.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Carole from Novi, MI
“Nice sized room, convenient to pool and fitness center front desk staff was nice location was great - just on the fringe of historic district so a little less crowded but right near the restaurants of City Market - concierge was not helpful at all - did not know about a major event going on in town and asked me to get info for her we are not sure because it may be random insects in the area but we believe that there were bed bugs in the room - we did not bring this to the attention of the staff so do not know how they would have handled it.” Mar 23, 2008 by
Melissa from Shillington, PA
“The hotel was in a great place, most of the staff was super helpful and very nice. Great concierge. My biggest complaint is that my price was not honored upon check out and that they more than doubled the regular room cost because it was a holiday. More than doubled the cost!” Jan 31, 2008 by
Scott from Albany, GA
“We enjoyed our stay at the Double Tree in Historic Savannah. The only issues were the shower curtain rod was about to fall off, the bed was too firm for our liking and the room was very small. We had a great view and the hotel great atmosphere. We would recommend this hotel.” Jan 1, 2008 by
Not T. from Sanford, FL
“The concierge was very knowledgeable the location was good the parking for 15 a night was steep the Hyatt was only 12 a night.” Jul 21, 2007 by
Lori
“Overall, the rooms were nice and clean. The staff was helpful overall until there was a problem- the staff had problems coordinating the effort to change our rooms. The restaurant in the hotel is understaffed and the food is mediocre. It took almost 3 hours to dine. There weren't enough waiters/staff to accommodate the needs of the people dining. Even getting a drink refilled took about 20-25 minutes. If you're looking for a hotel suited to business trips, this is it. If you're looking for great ambiance and good food/service, you might try looking at a different hotel.” Jul 13, 2007 by
Tim from Jonesboro, GA
“Probably Will Not Recommend To Anyone.1. On Arrival I Had To Unload My Vehicle.2. Ice Machine On My Floor Inop. The Reaction Of Main Desk Was To Go To Another Floor For Ice.3. Soda Machine Not Taking Bills. Reaction Of The Front Desk Was The Same.4. The One And Only Bright Spot Was John Fitzpatrick Concierge.” Jun 26, 2005 by
Timothy from Cedar Bluff, VA

“The DoubleTree in historic Savannah was first-class all the way. The staff was helpful and accomodating. The $13.00 per night parking fee was not mentioned prior to arrival, but was worth it.Highly recommended.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.May 26, 2005 by

“This hotel was very homey and comfortable. The rooms are pleasant and the beds provide a good night's sleep. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location on the northeast corner of the historic district is convenient. And the chocolate chip cookie you receive on arrival is delicious!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 10, 2005 by

“We liked the fact that it's a smaller hotel (only 6 stories). The room size is more than adequate (2 queen size beds & still room to move around).” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 25, 2005 by

“From the outside the hotel looked rather ordinary but inside it was lovely. Everything seemed new and clean. The room was large and tastefully decorated. The fitness room was a bit disappointing but other than that, we found the hotel conveniently located and well worth the visit.” Feb 24, 2005 by
Susan from Shoreline, WA
“I'd stay there anytime. It was the best place we stayed in during our two week vacation and was sorry we only stayed one night. The beds were incredible and I liked the Neutrogena products. Pretty room.” Feb 8, 2005 by
Angelynn from Brunswick, GA

“Charming, beautifully decorated (for a 3 star) & the staff was extremely accommodating, even though i paid very little for the room & the hotel was pretty full” Jan 27, 2005 by
Hani from Winter Park, FL
“The hotel was well worth the price I paid for it. Also the central location really added to making it a good trip for me.” Jan 21, 2005 by
Cynthia from Columbia, SC
“Though short, I enjoyed my stay at the Doubletree Historic Savannah. It was perfect for my weekend getaway. There was an emergency (fire alarm) at 1:00am, however, the staff was very attentive to all of the guests in making certain everyone was safe and in letting us know what was going on -- this helped to ensure that everyone stayed calm in what could otherwise have been a disaster.” Jan 20, 2005 by
Edouard from Mayfield, KY
“High quality, old time southern hopitality at a more than fair price. A++” Jan 3, 2005 by
William S. from San Rafael “The hotel was great - - the $13 dollar valet parking was a bit pricey, especially when one is pretty much forced to use it due to a lack of street parking.” Dec 1, 2004 by
Lori L. from Miami “This hotel was lovely. Cleanliness, appearance, & location were very satisfactory.” Nov 11, 2004 by
“The hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of historic sights and restaurants. The service was genteel and hospitable and included valet parking. The room was especially spacious and decorated traditionally. Included was wireless internet service.” Oct 4, 2004 by
Kay R. from Alpharetta, GA “There was mandatory valet parking - and upon departure it took 20 minutes to get my car. I requested a wake-up call and didn't get it. I didn't wake up and therefore ran behind schedule. I also didn't get a correct bill.” Sep 21, 2004 by
Jayson I. from Atlanta, GA “They were low on keys so I could only get one. The staff was unfriendly. I have a hard time considering it a '4 star'.” Sep 20, 2004 by
Harris T. from Jacksonville, FL “The only problem with the hotel was the fact the parking was set up to add direct expense. There was no parking anywhere near the hotel, other than its own at $13 per night. Plus the bell carts could only be used by the staff and without a cart, you couldn't get more than an overnight bag out of the valet area. This is the only lacking portion of the stay, as the hotel itself was beautiful and pristine.” Sep 12, 2004 by
Dana H. from Apex “The room was beautiful! The staff was efficient and gracious. It would have been nice to not have to valet park, but it was not a big deal. I wish we could have stayed more than one night. I will definitely stay there whenever I am in Savannah.” Sep 8, 2004 by
Steven T. from Altamonte Springs “The staff were very friendly, even with the traffic from Hurricane Francis. My wife and I left our camcorder and digital camera in our room. We called to see if the housekeeper had found it, she had and turned it in right away. We have spoken to the Management and they are shipping it back to us.”
