• They upgraded us to a suite at no charge and let us check in early.
• Wish there was a restaurant and bar.

• Walking distance to shops.
• Carpets were wet from shampooing.

• The staff was very friendly and accommodating on every issue.
• This place was a dive, a dump, a roach bed.

“Elevator license was expired in 2007! Old, musty, room had roaches under the coach bed, carpet was worn/dirty, breakfast was below par, room was worn/damaged, no Pay TV, sheets were old and beat up, the sofa bed was so bad my children could not sleep - springs were coming out of the mattress. We were given and rollout for the next night and it was not much better. Blankets were worn. Alcohol was displayed in vending machines at the foot of the elevator. People were allowed to talk on cell phones in the pool and also had their coolers with glass bottles in the pool. Rooms walls were paper thin and guests were drunk and noisy. We could hear roaches in the middle of night and evidence of them was all over the room - particularly in the sofa and under chairs. Dead roaches that were not even vacuumed up. Furniture had cigarette burns (non smoking room) and stains. No one wanted to sit on the couch. There is absolutely no excuse for the condition of our room - there were people everywhere and the hotel needs to spend some of that income on cleaning and refurbishing. Country Inn will be hearing from me about it. We had this same experience at the Emily Morgan 3 years ago in San Antonio. This place is a dive - I was so embarrassed to take my family all the way to Florida to land here! We couldn't wait to leave.”

• The hotel is convenient to shopping, dining and the beach.
• The staff was very unfriendly, internet worked only part of the time.

“The only good thing about this hotel was the location. We were close to the beach and dining/shopping. The staff was very unfriendly, very short with us. We tried on two occasions to ask directions and the girls working the front desk simply did not have time to bother with us - one time the gal was on a personal phone call. The internet service only worked part of the time. I called to the front desk to see if there was a problem, she told me she would check it out and call me right back. I never did get a call back. I went down to the front desk to check on it. When I asked the front desk about it they said there was nothing they could do. They had no idea what was wrong and that is just how it was. They did not offer to check into it further. The hot tub was disgustingly filthy. Overall this hotel was definitely not worth the money.”

• Location.
• The room was dusty, stained carpet, not really clean.

• Very close to a lot of places, nice warm pool!
• Breakfast closed at 9:30 am (they lock the doors).

“Country Inn and Suites Destin was a really great hotel for the money. They had a wonderful breakfast with a waffle maker. The hotel was very kid-friendly. The outside pool was heated. They even had a VCR machine in the room (I would have liked to have known that prior to my stay -- I would have brought some tapes for the kids). This was at a great location for the public beach, grocery stores, dining and shopping. I really enjoyed my stay!”

“While the common areas of the Country Inn deserved 2 1/2 stars, the rooms barely deserved 1 star. The beds were terribly uncomfortable (it felt like you were sleeping on bare springs), the linens were old, soiled, and threadbare, the carpet and furniture stained and dirty. I had to request a linen change and the bathroom be re-cleaned. They need to put a little more effort into the rooms rather than a fireplace in the lobby. The continental breakfast was above average.”

“We were VERY pleased with our hotel. We had a king sized bed with TV. in separate bedroom. The second room had TV., pull out couch, chair, table and chairs with microwave, refrigerator, sink and all the usual amenities. The continental breakfast was excellent. Cookies and coffee were available at all times in the lobby. We loved it for the price.”
