“This is more like a two star hotel. Rooms older and and just reasonably clean. Pipes vibrated and made strange noises.”

• The food was not good and poorly prepared.

“It's an old hotel that was recently renovated. The rooms are larger than newer hotels but they are not kept as clean as they should considering the star rating. The bathrooms are very small and there is no vanity space. On the positive side, the mattresses are comfortable.”

• Very poor upkeep, paint peeling, and bad passageways.

“Although a four star upscale hotel, the room and general appearance left a lot to be desired. The walls, doors, trim and hallways were all in disrepair and in need of painting. The passageways to and from the parking area are poorly designed and you feel like you are being guided into an underground cave adventure instead of a four star lobby. It is obvious this hotel is on a survival budget and is just waiting to make their money during Bike Week at Daytona Beach. The hotel may look like a 4 star to intoxicated bikers but when they sober up in the morning it is just an overpriced 2 star which happens to be on the ocean.”

• Good price.

“Three nights four days was enough. The staff were friendly and for the age of the hotel it was accommodating. There was a strong odor of mold in s are the lobby and common areas and the elevators did not work properly. The parking garage is not a welcoming place for fine automobiles. Rooms are clean however the bathrooms need maintenance. Coffee would be a nice touch in the rooms for breakfast.”

• Too much smoking on the premises at the pool.

“Very good, but too much smoking, did not get an ocean view only if we had paid more money; too loud on the street side with all of the traffic on Atlantic ave. Also, our bathroom door would not close properly and the sink drain stoppper did not work for contac lenses.”

• The bed was very comfortable.
• The garage parking lot and it's entrance was old and dated.

“Looks great on the outside and there are sections of the lobby that are very pretty. The garage entrance was less than impressive. The bed was very comfortable but the bath was small with no counter.”

• Lobby was impressive at checkin, very elegant and upscale.
• Pool tile was very oily and dirty from sediment in the pool. If you leaned against the tile it soiled your bathing suit.

“This was a very well kept , well-designed resort. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I loved the huge 52 in flat screen TV and granite counter tops. The pool area was very large with a great view of the ocean. The snack bar was well covered so you could eat and there was a television. There were covered cabannas by the pool so if someone wanted to be out of the sun or they had a baby they were taken care of.”

• This is the 2nd nicest hotel on the beach in Daytona.
• It is really individual condos, the staff could not help with an absurd problem.

“The hotel rooms are individually condos. For some reason, my room, which faced the lights of the strip/main drag, had room darkening shades that did not cover the whole window! It left about 3 feet exposed to the glare of the street. They have had complaints about this in the room before but cannot fix it because the room owner does not want to spend the money. Absolutely absurd, never heard of a situation like this.”

“Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Had a lot of amenities and the location was great but had the appearance of an older hotel that was remodeled 10 or so years ago. The room was adequate but the sliding door did not close totally, air conditioning unit looked unsafe with electrical cords showing. Only 1 elevator worked on busy Sat. Took 45 minutes to get elevator to room. I got the impression that it breaks down often. Staff was exceptional and appreciative of quests. Very, very helpful and courteous.”

• Great ocean view.
• No vale parking. We had go to 3 location to find a parking spot.

“The hotel lobby was elegantly decorated. The room was furnished with attractive dark color wood. Unfortunately, the furniture was dusty and the bathroom sink leaked water into the hallway. The parking situation was the worst I had ever experienced, we had to drive to 3 different location to park because they permitted a wedding party to park at their main parking building.”

“The staff was friendly and professional. The resort was beautiful. Room service was prompt. We had a great time there & would return again. Parking did seem to be an issue though. Once you did get a spot you were afraid to leave it.”

• Very convenient to shops and restaurants.
• Took 2 phone calls to get glass picked up off our side walk.

“Very nice for family travelers. The room included a convection oven, kitchen sink and refrigerator. Snack bar was reasonably priced and the location was great. Indoor parking with entrances directly into the hotel.”

“The hotel has a great pool area and easy access ot the beach. The fitness center is okay at best, but other then that and the noise level, I was very pleased with the hotel. Staff is excellent and the facility was very nice. Parking on site too.”

“We stayed in the 14th floor and water was leaking in from the roof. The carpet smelled already really moldy. We were glad when we left the hotel.”

• The hotel was beautiful and elegant yet casual enough to be comfortable.
• I expected the pool to be much cleaner. The water was fairly cloudy.

“The hotel was clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. It is located within walking distance (by beach or street) to shopping, dining, drug stores, just about anything you could need. We stayed with a three year old and had a great time between the pool and the beach. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Our room was ready at 11 AM.
• The hotel was noisy, parking cost extra, the spots were narrow and pool cloudy.

“We were very warmly greeted and given a room on the 14th floor at 11 AM. Since the hotel was not crowded we did not have any problems with the elevators as others had mentioned. The hotel did not seem like a 4 star, amenities were not exciting and we were not even given more shampoo on the second day. The ice machine on our floor did not work and we could hear street noise even though we were on the 14th floor. I think if it was a busy time at Daytona the noise would have been intolerable. Another minus was the AC was very loud and awoke us every time it came on.”

• Good prices at inside bar; live music; comfy bed; easy access to beach and pool.
• Very small bathroom - no vanity space; no comp chairs on beach like most resorts.

“We had a fun time at this hotel - even if for 2 nights. Easy parking, close to everything I wanted to go to. Easy access off and on the beach with outside bar/snacks/music. Nice crowd; nice pool.”

• The rooms were beautifully decorated as was the lobby.
• The bathrooms are incredibly small, with only one towel rack, with 3 people in the room it was hard to manage.

“The hotel is convenient to walking to the shops and the movies. The lobby is nice and we were able to upgrade our room to a studio which gave us more room. The hotel is directly on the beach which was easy to get to from the lovely pool. Even with that we still had a wonderful time at the plaza resort, the rooms were quite and we needed the rest.”

“We loved the Plaza. You just walk right out the door to the beach. Convenient shower to clean off sand. Beach is quiet and not very crowded. On the 1st Saturday in June there were probably about 10 families on the beach.”

• They were very helpful trying to fit our needs being that we were there for our honeymoon; they gave us a free upgrade to oceanfront.
• You have to pay for parking and the housekeeping staff spoke very little English.

“It was a very nice hotel, fairly clean, wonderful view, big widescreen TV and wireless internet made it nice and comfy when we stayed in. We enjoyed our time there.”

• The location was great, and the lobby and pool area were beautiful. Great beach too!

“The room we got wasn't four star quality, because they gave us a smaller corner room. However, it was partial ocean views, the beds were moderately comfortable, and it was clean. The bathroom was small, and no countertop space, and dimly lit. If you are expecting a 4 star its not quite there, but its a nice 3 star. The lobby and pool and restaurants were beautifully decorated. Plenty of pool chairs, a great beach, and really close to main spots.”

• We were located on the 10th floor and it was still loud at night. We could hear the car engines.

“We loved the hotel location and staff. However, we would let them know that although we had an ocean view and were on the 10th floor; it was very loud at night. We could here the car and motorcycle engines from the main road all night. It was hard to fall asleep.”

• Comfortable bed, great mini-kitchen, and prime location on the beach.
• Elevator and shower pipe noises could be heard all day and night.

“The room was comfortable (particularly the bed) and we had an up-to-date mini-bar/kitchen setting that included a nice refrigerator and microwave. Our balcony was small but provided a nice view. There was also an enormous flat screen television. The biggest negative I have about this room was we were located near to the elevator and you could hear it all night long as people rode up and down. Furthermore, I could hear the showers of our neighbors quite clearly as well. I am also not as bothered by external noises as some people, so I would recommend specifying a location if it does bother you.”

• Mediterranean architecture with a beautiful ocean view. Loved the flat screen TV and kitchenette.
• Ice machines and elevators are old; No hot tub.

“The hotel has lovely Mediterranean architecture. Most rooms have a balcony with a beautiful ocean view. Not to mention rooms with a large flat screen TV, kitchenette, and complimentary wireless. We liked the convenient and reasonable self-parking too.”

• Location, hotel was so close to the water. Most room is ocean view.
• Traffic was loud even late at night.

“Hotel was not 4 star to me, but it is clean and charming. It stand very close to the water. View from the room was so beautiful. There are not very many nice up scale hotel in Daytona beach, and this is one of the nicest one, seems like.”
