• Friendly, helpful staff.
• Dust in the heater set off smoke detector.

“The heater in this Florida hotel room had not been used for a while and we set off the smoke detector. This was promptly fixed by the staff and the rest of our stay was comfortable and warm. The staff helped us find a few antique malls and printed maps for us. The breakfast bar was generous and well stocked. Rooms were clean and recently renovated.”

• It smelled good.
• It was located near a prison.

“The hotel was clean, smelled well, as was the room. The hotel restaurant Tuscans I believe was less than stellar. The service was quick but it was hard to get them on the phone to order, and the food wasn't that great. Plus, they are walking distance (right next door) yet they feel the need to charge 18% gratuity for delivery. They do take 10% off for being a hotel guest, though. Otherwise, everything was fine in this hotel. I would stay again.

• Modern renovation, comfortable beds, great breakfast.
• Slow toilet, shower water pressure, dirt in tub.

“This place is great for the business and leisure traveler, with 3 great places to eat in the same parking lot you can't go wrong. Road work at night confused me on where to turn into. Their hot breakfast is A+! Friendly staff didn't make me feel like out of place. Beds were great, 2 types of pillows (soft and firm), free wireless, work desk and updated amenities made me feel at home! A little out of the way but worth it, about 15-30 minutes from malls and Tampa. I would definitely stay here again!”

“Hotel was average and ok for a business traveler. Internet WiFi access was terrible and the worst I have had in any hotel. It did not work in hotel room and only worked occasionally in common areas. Would not stay here again.”

• The staff was very helpful and friendly.
• The hotel construction, the variety of food and the quality was very poor.

“The hotel was not what I expected. The first impression counts and the construction in the lobby really made a bad one. There were no microwaves in the room or the lobby, the "deluxe continental breakfast" was horrible. No variety, food was cold. Couldn't use the bally exercise pass cause it does not offer child care and the hotel did not have an exercise room. This was not worth the price. I wouldn't recommend or stay in this hotel again.”

• They had a decent pool and whirlpool. Continental breakfast was also convenient.
• Hotel staff did not respond appropriately to loud groups of children running around at all hours of the night.

“The hotel was relatively clean, although they were doing some renovations in the lobby. The beds were comfortable, and they have a nice pool and Jacuzzi. However, the hotel staff was not trained well or just didn't care about the experiences of the guests. We stayed there on a weekend with a Gils' softball team, and they were completely out of control- running and yelling down the halls until after midnight. The hotel staff did nothing to stop this behavior and allowed them to stay in the pool after closing, which encouraged the loud behavior to continue. We also asked a hotel staff for directions to Pier 60 (in Clearwater) and she gave us directions to St. Petersburg (the opposite direction). I was very unimpressed with the knowledge and low level of professionalism of most of the hotel staff. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• The room was great. Staff was pleasant.
• The construction in the lobby was unattractive, but it has potential!

“I would give the hotel 2 thumbs up. The staff was very helpful, I left my business card at the front desk for another guest, and the employee made sure the guest received it. I also forgot my cell phone charger in the room on accident, the girl gave me another room key so I could go get it. I was very happy with the hotel overall. The only problem was the road construction that kind of blocked the driveway.”

• Although it was under construction, and breakfast was served in a 10x12 room, my stay was pleasant. The rate was fantastic!
• It was under construction and the noise in the day time was annoying.

“This hotel was well worth the stay for the money and location. The employees were pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable with 70 plus cable channel including premium channels. The complimentary breakfast needs to be worked on, only hard boiled eggs, bagels, cereal, juice, and coffee. Probably due to construction of a new kitchen and bar. I would certainly stay here again.”

“Excellent hotel. Would stay there again. Kids loved the heated pool and we loved the hot tub. Everything was very clean and pleasant and hotel staff could not have been more friendly and helpful! Great location between Tampa and Clearwater beach.”

• Clean, very good location, friendly staff and up to date decor.
• Lots of construction at the main road entrance and a poor shower performance.

“The Holiday Inn Express in Clearwater was located in a very convenient and safe location, close to all varieties of restaurants, downtown Tampa, and Pinellas County. The hotel was very clean with up to date decor. The rooms are smaller, but very comfortable. My biggest complaint was the shower I used did not have enough pressure and the temperature was difficult to control. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was decent with cereal, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, and juice. I would have liked to see scrambled eggs and sausage and/or bacon.”

“Stayed for our anniversary. Couldn't check in until after 8PM. Wanted to go to beach next day close enough to home to arrive fast close enough to beach to get there fast the next day. PERFECT!”

“I traveled to this hotel for business. It was great hotel and very close to where my meetings would be held. Wish the hotel was closer to the beach though. I loved the staff who was very welcoming to me after, a horrible experience at the airport and with a cab driver. They made me feel welcomed and helped in any way possible. I really felt like they cared. The hotel itself was very nice, really made it feel like "Florida." breakfast was great! Coffee and cinnamon rolls made the lobby and breakfast area very welcoming! I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the Clearwater area! I can't say enough about the great staff!”

• The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool - it was warm! The location was also great, very close to the airport.
• The amount of time it took in order for the room to be ready. Also, the staff did not let me know when it was ready and they said they would.

“The hotel was very nice and clean. The pool area was nice, except for the number of cigarette butts around. The room was very nice and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast.”

• Bathroom needs good cleaning/repair & elevator very dirty.

“We picked this motel based on prior reviews. The continental breakfast was great and restaurants were within walking distance. The room in which we stayed was ok but smelled until we opened the windows for a few hours. The bed was very comfortable with nice pillows. The room as quiet except for morning cleaning staff and other customers slamming doors. In the bathroom, the vanity was broken away from the wall and water leaked onto the counter. The tissue would not stay in the correct holder because of the condition of the vanity area. Bathroom could use a good detailed cleaning. We would stay here again but would want to check the room condition before moving in for the night. This motel should change its policy to allow dogs as this room was not any better than those in which we have stayed with our dog.”

• The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever been in!
• The doors close by themselves and are very loud!

“We found everything to be very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the use of the hot tub after a long exhausting day, and made use of the laundry facilities which were very clean. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever been in. The breakfast that was provided was incredible well kept and the eating area very clean and accommodating.”

• Very clean, outdoor pool and hot tub, good breakfast.
• The desk clerk the morning we left was unhelpful.

“In short I would stay there again, the staff the first day was excellent, however cleaning staff trying to open the door at 7:30am was somewhat rude and the desk clerk in the morning was clueless. Again very clean, nice outdoor pool and hot tub, good continental breakfast, it's what I would expect from a holiday inn express.”

• I was shocked to find that the pillows on the beds had varying degrees of firmness to choose from.
• Saw one large stain on the carpet in the hallways.

“The people at the front desk and even the cleaning staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast included warm cinnamon buns and a variety of juices and was replenished frequently. The rooms and communal spaces were all very clean. I was shocked to find that the pillows on the beds had varying degrees of firmness to choose from. ”

• The room I ended up with was excellent in quality and the location of the hotel was wonderful.
• Front Desk clerk Tre was rude and condesending.

“The Hotel itself was great. The inital check in by Tre was a challenge. My confirmation states I would have a room with a refrig and microwave. ”
