  • Front area was very nice and welcoming.
  • No sauna and a bit outdated.

  • Very nice common areas.
  • Wireless internet was inadequate.

“Very close to the highways accessible to nearby areas. The actual area surrounding the hotel was not the best, but felt safe. The hotel has clearly been remodeled and looked very nice in all the common areas. The rooms were standard but unspectacular. The biggest complaint is the (free) wireless internet that often went down during our visit resulting in great difficulty getting things done.”

  • Nice atmosphere, Friendly, clean.

“Four stars is a great hotel, when I travel to CT, this is where I always stay, with my spouse and children, we enjoy the fitness center and the pool, I also love that there are many stores and restaurants, and movie theaters in the same vicinity as the hotel, everyone is friendly and helpful.”

  • It was clean, had a bar and restaurant and comfortable bed.
  • The room was small and the bathroom was very small.

“I was only at the hotel for (1) evening so it would be hard for me to honestly judge this hotel, however, let me just tell you what I did notice, the elevator took forever. Since I was only on the 1st floor I took the stairs most of the time but I have a bad hip so if I had to go any further I wouldn't have been able to. The hallways smelled of chlorine because of the pool door being open. As I said above the room was small but it was attractive the bathroom however was very small. They better fix that elevator though that's terrible.”

  • The room was wonderfully large.
  • Dirty room floor/all athletic facilities were closed.

“I book a hotel based on the availability of athletic facilities. After 5 hours in a car I find it relaxing to work out. Both the swimming pool and the work out room were closed to guests when I was there! Also, someone forgot to vacuum the floors which were stained as well. I expect more in a 3 star hotel.”

  • Little far from Yale.

“It was freezing cold; major pipe burst in the lobby, so this event probably skewed my experience. Hotel staff was not friendly at all.”

  • we had a very bad experience.
  • Almost everything.

“We went with a 3.5 star hotel because we had a large party in town to attend a wedding. we needed to be able to entertain small children for long stretches in case of rain and it rained! The indoor pool one of the main reasons we picked the hotel was for the indoor pool. It was almost never open to us closed for hotel events, used as a buffet area. On the last night of our visit the hotel put a rap group in the room adjoining the one housing my grandchildren and daughter, they began smoking strange things, yelling and generally causing a loud ruckus. The hotel staff moved my daughter as to not disturb this famous band. They promised to call me to straighten out the problem, but as of yet two days later they have not responded to us in any way. The level of cleanliness was not good. You could not get coffee in the hotel until after 7 on a business day. I could go on but my fingers are getting tired.”

“It needs a face lift both inside and out. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom had black mildew. Both the rooms and the lobby had a very strong smell of air freshener which implied that they were hiding something.”

  • The bed was the best I have ever slept on. Hated to leave.
  • Room service breakfast was a bit expensive for what was served.

“Like I stated the bed was the best I have slept in. Hated to leave it. I would like to see promotions that would allow for a full breakfast for two in the room for a much lesser price. It would allow customers to feel more at home. I know this won't happen just would like to see it. I mean a lot of places in the central us serve a " Continental Breakfast" that is far superior to you room service for nothing.”

  • Comfortable bed.
  • Poor Satellite TV.

  • Comfortable beds, good sized room, overall pleasant experience.
  • Pool was sparse and scary looking, who would swim there? One elevator was broken, too.

“A bit out of the way, it felt like a business hotel that didn't have a lot of business, who travels to Cheshire, CT for business anyways. Despite being a little sub par for an executive meeting feel, it was great for travelers like us who wanted an "upscale" alternative to the roadside motels prevalent in the area. I mean, I like my room door not to open up into the street.”

  • It's near highway access and there are many stores nearby. Bed, pillows and comforter were great.
  • Carpeting on floor in hallway was stained; business room with computer access had a terrible odor. Noisy neighbors.

“If you are looking for an easily accessible place (near route 84 and Wilbur Cross Parkway) that is centrally located, this hotel in Meriden, Ct. is fine. Shopping and restaurants all close by.”
