“The hotel's exterior is beautiful. The location is in close proximity to the beach. However, any points of enjoyment were negated by the bed bugs found in the hotel room. I had a bad allergic reaction. I didn't place a formal complaint with the hotel as I did not diagnose the influx of bug bites as bed bug bites until approx. 1 week after my trip. Would not recommend this hotel if you don't like itching bug bites.”

• Close to beach.
• Bathroom could be cleaner.

“The hotel was located just off highway 41 in Bonita Springs. A refreshing change to stay in non chain establishment. The foyer was impressive as you entered. A well furnished breakfast area, with a covered outdoor, fan ventilated large patio. A good pool with plenty of loungers and towels available. Management offered us a change of room, as bathroom could have been cleaner. Chose to let housekeeping address this. Free internet available.”

• Lobby, breakfast, pool area and outside ambiance.
• All three clerks were not very friendly, room was outdated.

“We enjoyed the hotel. It was unique and had a very nice ambiance in the lobby, bar and outside. However, the stay was disappointing because we had booked a superior room with a lakeside view. When we arrived we were given a deluxe room that faced the parking lot. When I questioned this, I was told that all of the superior rooms were taken. I did not have time to change hotels, as we were only there for the night.”

• Clean, quiet, nice outdoor bar/grill.

“Stayed one night after arriving at Ft. Myers airport in the early evening. It's right off Rte 41, a little hard to find due to small sign but GPS helped. Clean modern hotel with a great outdoor grill on a large pond. We watched shore birds and a gator swimming while we were eating -like a mini wildlife refuge. We would definitely stay there again.”

• Conveniently occasion to downtown Ft. Meyers, Ft. Myers Beach, Tampa, Naples & airport.
• Small tiny little insects in hotel, but assume it is just part of being in Florida.

“Very nice hotel and I would go back again without hesitation. Centrally located so I could go wherever I wanted as Ft. Myers Beach, downtown Ft. Meyers, Naples, Tampa and the airport was 20 minutes away and easy to get to. A Wal-Mart 10 minutes away and lots of restaurants along the main road. There is the Lakeside Bar & Grille at the hotel which was next to the pool but not connected. It was a nice place to hang out at and the bar tenders were great. They were friendly, sociable and made a nice strong drink! They have a workout room, although it was small ( a hotel room converted to gym) but it did have a full bathroom to shower after the workout. The shower head was missing (caused the water to hit your skin with a sting) so it wasn't the most relaxing shower after working out. But nobody else was using the room at the same time as me so it was fine. I would definately recommend this hotel and I am possibly looking to another trip back there in the next few months but I will bring my 4 year old with me this time. They have a separate kids pool (just shallow - no slides or anything else) and a hot tub!”

• The cleanliness of the room and hotel proximity to dining.
• The lobby area smelled of tobacco smoke due to employees smoking inside.

“The hotel is situated between Ft. Myers and Naples, making local business easily accessible. The rooms have large bathrooms with shower and tub. There is not a better choice in the area at this price point.”

• The hotel was within a natural setting with trees/water and also close to shopping and dining options.
• No fitness room.

“Our stay at this hotel was a pleasant one. The setting was definitely a plus with a large pond outback and lush greenery surrounding the facility unlike a hotel off the main road. I did wish they had a fitness room on-site.”

• The bathroom had a tub, sink area, and a large tiled shower.

“We just returned from a trip to the ft Myers area and stayed one night at the Trianon Bonita Bay. We had a conference at the Sanibel Harbor Resort but arrived one day early and chose the Bonita Bay area for the evening. Although the room was nothing fancy, we found it to be clean and comfortable. The foyer area and location are wonderful. The bathroom had a tub, sink area, and a large tiled shower. The water pressure was great. The bed was a king and was very comfortable. We had a nice view of the lake and of the lake house grill which is on site. We enjoyed a drink in the lobby bar before going to bed and chatted with the bartender. He gave us some advice about the area which later proved to be helpful. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The next morning we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in the lobby which had the usual cereal, pastries, bagels and fruit. We later dined beside the lake at the lakeside grill and found the food to be good. My DH had a burger and I had fish and chips which were both good. We would stay at this hotel again if we found a good price as we did this time.”

“Very clean, nice lobby. Great bar by pool and lake. Very nice for romantic or business traveler, I do not recommend for families with young kids. Free breakfast limited selections. Over 50 restaurants within 2 miles. Beautiful barefoot beach close by.”

• All the staff were most helpful, pleasant, and one man at the front desk even went out of his way to provide video and wires for the DVD we purchased.
• There was no DVD/CD player in the room! Also, a room safe and bar fridge would have been appreciated.

“Very well situated, excellent appearance as you approach the hotel as well as the front lobby. Breakfasts provided were excellent as well. So Nice to have coffee, cereal, juices, and other food all available on real china! No plastic or Styrofoam stuff here! We really enjoyed our stay.”

“I have allergies, so the musty room was not good for me. I had a very restless sleep and suffered for a few days with a stuffed up head. Otherwise, the room was lovely and clean. The outside cabana restaurant overlooked a pond and offered yummy sandwiches. The complimentary breakfast was "light".”

• Great location, comfortable beds, good selection at continental breakfast, comfortable relaxed dining area.
• I don't have anything bad to report on this hotel stay.

“Great location next to an up scaled shopping area with restaurants. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. Bathroom and shower were large. Beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. Attractive up scaled lobby. Nice landscaping surrounding the hotel. Did not go in the pool but it looked very nice. The breakfast had a good selection for a continental breakfast and the dining room was very comfortable and attractive. There was also seating outside that looked very inviting.”

• I enjoyed the elegant style of the entire hotel.
• A few ants in the bathroom.

“This is an elegant European style hotel with class, charm and a staff to match. Rooms are spacious with extra large bathrooms with lots of extras. The staffs are expert in meeting needs and making one's stay comfortable. The hotel is located adjacent to one of the most beautiful up-scale shopping and dining areas anywhere. This hotel provides a marvelously restful stay!”

• Check-in and check-out was very smooth and it is easy to get to from I-75.
• The bed was uncomfortable, the room was trashy, and the remote didn't work.

“This was the best hotel in the best location. We wanted to go to Ft. Myers for a Birthday vacation, but everything was too expensive or booked. This hotel was located 20 minutes from Ft. Myers and was better than any hotel I've stayed in. Quiet and peaceful, elegant and relaxing, it was perfect for our mini getaway. Hotel staff was friendly, the continental breakfast in the morning was wonderful, and the hotel was located next to some fabulous upscale gift shops and restaurants. Also we were only 3 miles from Coconut Point which offers amazing shopping and a great movie theater. Plus, you were only about a 10 minute drive to the beach with the nicest public parking and beaches I've seen. Overall this place was great and the price was even better. I want to go back and soon!”

• Bugs around the pool and lake house bar and grill.

“The Trianon is quite and small enough to be personal yet keeps the luxury resort feel. The worst things I can say is that the oak in the elevator needs treated and polished. If the breakfast had scrambled eggs it would have been perfect. The dining area was beautiful. We loved the back guest areas. They could add a walkway on the east side for morning walks and quite moments. Reading a book on a path bench would be wonderful. I watched my son in the pool while enjoying my morning juice and paper.”

“After being at the hotel a month before and loving it, we came again with friends, and they loved it, too. Wonderful complementary continental breakfast. Amenities that would have been expected at a much higher rated hotel. Convenient to both Naples & fort Meyers. Loved it!”

• Quaint, European style hotel, large lovely rooms with balcony.
• Nothing, I would stay there again.

“The hotel was lovely. It had a marble bathroom with a large tub and plenty of mirrors and counter space. All the rooms had a little balcony. Ours overlooked a lagoon and the pool. There was a little restaurant with open air seating and music. The grounds were beautiful with flowers everywhere. There were many nice shops next to the hotel and also other restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

“Upon arrival we noticed the beautiful lobby and friendly desk clerk. The rooms were clean with a lovely view of the grounds. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub after our long flight. Location was great. We were able to find lots of great dinning choices and things to do with our twin girls (16) not easy to please. We would definitely stay there again next time we are in Fort Myers.”

“Great hotel. Even though it was 9 years old, it looked like it was just built yesterday. Location was super, half way between Ft. Myers and Naples. Close to restaurants, shopping, and Sanibel island. All at a price that was great. I would give this hotel my highest recommendation by saying I will go back.”

• Beautiful Hotel, friendly staff, good outdoor setting.
• I thought the hotel was on the beach, but it is actually off a small bay/channel.

“The hotel was excellent, the staff was great. The bar/grill looked excellent but we only had a single drink there, the view was nice. Would have loved to spend more time here. Only complaint is the location isn't closer to Naples. And it is considered in Naples Vicinity.”

“Nice hotel, convenient location. Though little dated, still nice. More a 2.5 star instead of 3. Only issue was when going to check out early next AM, no staff at desk, only note stating where 1 staff member may be found, though having not used these locations during stay, I had no idea where to find them.”

• The rooms were large, very clean, and had a very comfortable bed & nice view.
• The front desk lady was a little snippy because we tried to check in before check-in time.

“Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only about 10 minutes from the beach, very good restaurants & shops closely. Live entertainment at the tike bar on the weekend. Very nice stay. We had a large group of 16 with 10 teenagers & everyone enjoyed it.”

• I really enjoyed the location and artistic feel of the hotel environment.
• It could be a really great hotel, one I would revisit, if and only if they did the major repairs needed.

• Beautiful grounds and convenient location, although hard to see from the road.
• I did not like the continental breakfast, definitely not three stars.

“Hotel has gorgeous landscaping, handsome building, not large but attractive room, good bed and great, spacious bathroom. However, the continental breakfast was disappointing; it was more like motel grade, definitely not a three star there. The staff was friendly and helpful.”

• Rude staff, dirty facilities. Mold in rooms.

“I was expecting a fun getaway for my family and me. Instead I got a noisy location, an extremely rude staff. And most importantly some of the dirtiest rooms I have ever come across in a hotel. There was mold and mildew in the bathroom tub and sink! Only upside is the view. Steer clear of rude front desk and bartenders. This place thinks they're the Ritz, but they are more on par with motel 6.”

• Outside surroundings very nice. Close to shopping. Room was clean and spacious. Very pleased overall with stay.
• Unlike other reviews that we had read about the beds we found that we didn't particularly care for that type. Would rather not have form fitting foam.

“This was an unexpected gem in south Florida. The hotel had beautiful grounds and other surroundings. Very convenient to lots of things. The service and room were also very nice. It was very much worth the price we paid for it.”

• Location, ambiance, staff, price.
• New staff in the poolside restaurant need extensive customer service training.

“I have stayed at the Trianon several times in the past two years. It has always been pleasurable. Professional, but very friendly staff at both the front desk and in the bar. The new poolside restaurant staff needs serious customer service training. I waited over 15 minutes to be waited on and finally left. I also observed a group of 9 older women (ages 70-90) being made to move tables themselves to accommodate their group. All the while a waitress was sitting on a bar stool reading a magazine. Definitely not in keeping with the image I have of the overall hotel experience.”

• The concierge was not very friendly.

• Beautiful hotel and room, very spacious and nicely appointed.
• Rude bartender at Pool Bar, said they were closing and did not.

“It's too bad that we had a bad experience at the Pool Bar, we just wanted a drink and to sit outside after arriving their at 9pm, we were told that the bar was closing, but we could go into the Lobby Bar, and we did. When we returned to our room an hour later, we looked out our window and the pool bar was still open!”

• Rude/indifferent front desk staff, internet didn't work.

“Facilities were above average and nicely appointed. Rate was very good. Front desk staff indifferent to wireless internet problems and rude upon arrival. No information in room re: TV, breakfast, local info. Poolside outdoor restaurant staff inconsistent, long wait for overpriced food (they will be losing their miller high life privileges with $9.95 hamburger and $4.95 fries!).”

• The hotel staff was a bit stand-offish towards us; hotel was close to a noisy major road.

“The hotel was fabulous except for the hotel staff being stand-offish and the hotel being close to highway 41 where there was loud traffic all hours of the day. The pool was warm and well kept, the grounds surrounding the hotel were beautiful and the complimentary continental break fast fulfilling.”
