• Stayed within my budget and it was clean, beds were comfortable!
• I asked for a room w/view. I was placed behind the backdoor of the restaurant. Deck was nice, but noisy due to restaurant activity in back area.

“I was pleasantly surprised. It is an older hotel, but the rooms were clean and spacious. The interior rooms had wooden decks. The bed was very comfortable as it had a padded covering over the mattress. I would stay there again. ”

• The breakfast was way above average - really cooked to order! Great chef.
• Had trouble with Nintendo that was not resolved.

“Easy to find from interstate. Friendly staff. Wanted to swim, but only outdoor pool (although they offered to remove cover so we could swim). The cook to order breakfast was excellent -- way above average! Nice room -- no kid friendly TV channels available! -- But we'd stay here again!”

• Staff was very friendly and the rooms were large.
• The halls were extremely cold and rooms could have been cleaner.

“This hotel is very convenient to the highway. The staff is extremely friendly. They have a wonderful "free" breakfast and a hotel guest happy hour in the evenings with "free" drinks. We had dinner there and listened to live entertainment. The kids loved it and so did we. The pool was heated outside but was dirty. So was the hot tub. They are currently remodeling, but we did not get a remodeled room, so other rooms might be cleaner. We would stay here again.”

• Bathroom drain part clogged; exhaust fan shot; light did not work.

“Other than some housekeeping & repair (see my #14 reply), this hotel gives good product for reasonable cost. it was built as a Hilton, so quality of facility was good - and still is - even though hotel is getting older. This was my third stay in 18 months.”

• It had no idea, but a nice full sized balcony.

“The hotel was a bit dated, but really liked the balcony. It is rare to be in a hotel that has a full sized balcony. It was a convenient location right off the highway.”

• Awesome free breakfast. Karaoke in the bar.
• Odd odor, strange layout.

“I was very pleased with this hotel. Spacious rooms, friendly staff and best of all a made to order free breakfast. This hotel had a lot of nice amenities; pool, weight room, game room. This hotel goes out of its way to entertain their guests with things like Texas holder nights to karaoke nights. Very kid friendly.”

• The staff and the cleanliness...it was also very easy to find.
• The only smoking room available had 2 dbl beds however I was accommodated with a room with a balcony that I could step outside and smoke.

“Its very comfortable...very clean...the staff is very good...I came in after one of the worst blizzards they had had in years so getting in and out was dicey and the parking lot was horrible to navigate in the ice and snow...it isn't within walking distance to anything but a bar and restaurant that has limited hours...but I would stay there again and I did recommend it to some friends that I know are going to Colorado springs.”

• Updated rooms, free internet, great breakfast and reception at night.
• Layout bad - but that was because it was an older hotel.

“I was very surprised for the price I got the room, how nice it was. It was recently updated. The bed was very comfortable. And there was a manager¿s reception at night with chips, quashes, and frees drinks. The complimentary breakfast was terrific - cooked to order eggs and other things outstanding!”

“Hotel has 200 plus rooms, but only a handful were occupied. Despite this, we were put next to the laundry room and repair shop. The loud noise started at 7 a.m. Room keys would not work. Bathroom floor had pills spilled on it and was filthy.. Sign at desk warned against pets or smoking with heavy fines "because of recent renovations." Our room had not been renovated in at least 5 years... probably 10 years.”

• The staff treated us like we were million-dollar customers at all times.
• The air conditioners worked badly. They would go off and never come back on and the room was hot.

“We LOVED our stay here. It was such a great deal - the complimentary cocktails, the extremely friendly and helpful staff, and the perfect location. Not to mention the made-to-order breakfast - not to have to worry about finding food first thing in the morning and then getting a great meal, not just fruit and bagels, was a definite plus. Of course, there was no indoor pool and no Jacuzzi tubs in the rooms but really, that would have been red rosettes on a cake already laden with creamy chocolate icing. The only complaint we have is that the cooling system either didn't work well, or we just couldn't figure it out. When we thought it was broken, they promptly moved us into another room (free upgrades both times!) where the system acted the same. Didn't matter too much as it was October, but it was still a little uncomfortable to be sweating at night and the air not coming back on automatically. That small discomfort aside, we will definitely stay here in the future and recommend that others do the same. If you expect a clean room, helpful staff, and to be treated well, you will not be disappointed.”

• Had a problem with large groups and their noise. Staff did come quickly to stop the noise.

“I felt very comfortable at this hotel. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. As a woman alone I was a little concerned about entering the hotel after dark. My room and entry door were located around to the back side. I think the parking lot should have more lights installed. I had to be out after dark for business reasons. Came in alone.”

“This hotel is not deserving of a 3 star rating. The rooms were dated, had worn carpeting, bathroom was not real clean (bath tub mold) and the TV was not good. The beds were double sized, not queen.”

“We reserved 2 king/non smoking rooms. They had one but not two. My wife and I had to sleep in a room with a pull out sofa in order to have a nonsmoking room. My wife gets migraine in a smoking room. ”

• The hot tub was lake warm.

• Beautiful rooms, convenient location, good breakfast included with room.
• The only down side was none of the staff gives decent road directions.

“After traveling 4,000 miles with two children, we were relieved to find a reasonably priced hotel with a breakfast that had some nutritional value. The rooms were beautiful, much nicer than we expected for the price we paid. There is a nice well maintained swimming area with hot tub. The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They even provide free laundry soap at the front desk. Very nice.”

• Thin walls and noisy neighbors, double beds are too small. Queens would be nice.

“The Silver wood is a decent hotel. I went there for 2 nights with my wife and three kids (age 6,6,8). It would have been nice to have queen size beds. The kids were cramped in the double. There is a free reception with snacks and drinks each evening. Also a free breakfast with made to order eggs. Not bad, but very chaotic as the line is in a cramped area not specifically designed for this purpose. Overall a good place for those traveling with kids if you won't be spending a lot of time at the hotel. There is a pool, but nothing fancy about it. Other than that, kids would get bored fast.”

“Apparently when this hotel was first built, it was a Hilton. The rooms were built with the quality you would expect from a Hilton. Hilton sold it and it has been in various hands since. The Hotel is showing its age, but still reflects the quality of its initial construction. I would go back.”

• Shower curtain had a sour smell, grout missing from tiles, flimsy pillows.

“The carpet was old and dingy and the bathroom was smelly and poorly maintained. The pillows were very thin. Vending machines are scarce and hard to find. The upside to the hotel is its staff and quiet location.”

• Clean and large rooms, comfortable beds.
• Extremely noisey, dirty bathroom floors, older hotel.

“Walls were paper thin , same as you'd get in a motel. You could hear everything that not only went on in the next room but the hallway as well. Dirty floors in bathroom which indicates they weren't cleaned at all. Large rooms were a bonus but we didn't like that there were sliding doors opening to the outside, leaving us the feeling of insecurity. Internet not free. ”

• Nice size room.
• Maid service inconsistent. 9am one morning 2pm the next then 11 the next. Only had room made up three times in 7 days.

“The motel was not the same caliber at Hilton and others it was suppose to be. While the room was large and spacious and well appointed the physical appearance was old and worn. The carpet was loose and dingy looking.There was no set clean up schedule. The maid would come way too early some mornings. Because they couldn't speak english and didn't understand me my room didn't get service on those days.”

• This was a very run-down hotel for the level.

“The rooms and property were run down. The staff was fine to me but several people around me were having problems with getting the correct keys that worked. I witnessed the staff being very rude to each other and even a customer. The outdoor areas (hot tub) were not in good condition.”

“ They had an outdoor pool that was closed. Also the hot tub was outside and required running through the cold to get indoors. My granddaughter was very disappointed not to get to swim. They said if we had paid more for our room we could have had the free Breakfast. Beds were very hard.”

“This hotel is suffering from a lot of neglect. It will take a major refurbishing. It needs paint. There was broken glass in the parking lot for our entire stay. The carpet in the rooms and hallways needs to be replaced desperately. The staff was pleasant and the free internet was helpful.”

“The room was clean and adequate. The hot tub was broken the entire weekend. There were stains on the hall carpets and the wallpaper was peeling. I was told you get free breakfast Very quiet, but mostly because there were very few guests.”
