  • Convenient, good location and comfortable rooms.
  • Expensive restaurant; did not inform there was charge for valet/parking.

“Great hotel, good service, 2 dislikes - breakfast buffet too $$; waiter dropped ticket at table before we started eating (was rude). Valet failed to inform there was a charge for the service - also a charge to park car in hotel parking garage - bill was slipped under door at 3 am morning b4 checkout, was a little shocked - but learned to ask questions from now on.”

  • I liked the location.
  • The room was small and dated.

“The hotel was OK. The bed was comfortable. We were moved 3 times in four nights. I requested a room facing the mountains. The woman checking us in said there was nothing available unless of cancellation.
The next day a young man gave us a room with a view. The A/C was broken so the next evening the engineer had us moved to the 13th floor where the room was smaller but the view was awesome.”

  • My son loss his wallet in the parking garage and the hotel recovered it after we had left to go home. 200 dollars was taken out of his wallet.

“I
would have liked it better if there had been more security in the parking garage. Or possible security cameras.”

  • Location, dining, the staff did what it could to make us comfortable.
  • The room was nice, but it only had one place to sit in the room other than the bed. That chair was
    very small and uncomfortable.

“Nice hotel, nice experience, nice dining, great location. Bed was very comfortable, however room was crowded, very small TV and only one
very small uncomfortable chair to sit in. Also they charged $11.00 a day for parking (this was over the weekend) put the gates were up and parking was free.
Why the charge?”

  • The pillows and mattress were comfortable.
  • I think it needs updating.

“We have stayed at this hotel many times, but now compared to some other hotels in the area I do not believe it is a 3 1/2 star hotel. The bar area is not well staffed and they really need to update.”

  • The swimming pool and exercise room were very nice.
  • Paying $11.00 a night to park was very high.

“The facilities were very nice and the room was clean. I was disappointed that there was not a free continental breakfast. I was also upset to learn that parking would cost an additional $11.00 per night. The hotel was nice to waive this fee for us when we questioned it.”

  • The staff was extremely efficient and provided exceptionally prompt services.
  • Our original room's bathroom had wood shavings in the sink and on the toilet.

“Shortly after we arrived in our room, we advised the front desk that there were wood shavings in our sink and on our toilet. Since this was a surprise getaway for my loving fiance, I was thoroughly impressed by all of the hotel staff's immediate attentiveness, their offers to handle our luggage (including storing it for us after our checkout so that we could enjoy their Sunday brunch) and their restaurant recommendations (and we did enjoy the on site Judge Baldwin for appetizers) that was shown to us during our little romantic getaway!”

  • I purchased a can of coke from the pop machine. It had out dated in 2006.

“The hotel was great. Even though the pop I purchased was severely outdated, the front desk clerk was quick to get it replaced for me. (Having to pay for parking is not optimal when you are staying at a hotel. It should really be included with the room).”

“When checking in they told me they were out of non smoking rooms. I saw a room and it reeked of smoke. They then told me they could upgrade me at no extra cost. The room they gave me was smaller than the first rooms I looked at and had some smell to it of smoke the floors were dirty. Also, there was not a vending machine in the whole hotel that worked. I was disappointed.”

“The lobby and entrance way are grand, when you enter it seems like there is a party atmosphere - live piano player, fire place burning. The staff were extremely friendly and went out of there way to find us the restaurant that would best work (had tons of sample menu's and great recommendation). Once you were up in your room it was quiet and private. We really enjoyed our stay.”

“The beds were great and thats where the greatness ends. They charge you $10/day parking which was not disclosed when I ordered the rooms. The TV did not work properly and the premium HBO channel" did not come in. The walls were paper thin which coupled with its Downtown bar location, makes sleeping at a decent hour impossible due to the intoxicated patrons. Here is my major problem.”

  • Extra unseen charge for parking and room was not soundproof.

“This is not what I expected in a Hilton. It is an older hotel and there was an extra 9 dollar charge per day for parking which was very hard to get to since it was an underground parking deck. The room was not soundproof and we had to call the front desk to report disturbance in the room next door. The room was clean though the hotel is old and needs updated. Below my expectation for this type of hotel.”

  • An oddity of the place: The elevator always stops at the lobby, even if going from parking basement to high floors.

  • Luxurious.
  • The parking situation is impossible.

“Overlooks renewed downtown Colorado Springs. Close to restaurants, galleries and shops. Excellent decor, rooms were beautiful. The staff, unfortunately, were extremely unhelpful. They acted as if they worked in a motel on the road. I think they need a good staff meeting. I was very, very disappointed in the lack of attention from desk, concierge (I did not even see one) and bell people. The bar help was pleasant enough, but not into customer service. They treated me like "one of them," which is something I detest when I'm spending money at an establishment. I'm not one of them. Me, customer; them, service people. They just do not know that, I guess. Like I said, they need a good service staff meeting. Moreover, regardless of my leaving daily tips for the housekeeping staff, the mirrors and tabletops were not touched. That was not acceptable.”
