• I loved the hot tubs, which I tend to use more than pools.
• Noisy hallways one night. You can hear the room doors slamming.

• It was clean.
• First room was a unacceptable.They moved us to another.

• I like the continental breakfast. It is nice to be able to grab something light and go.
• Didn't get beds made or fresh towels. Had to ask for them.

“Overall good stay. Our beds were not made the first night we stayed and we did not receive fresh towels for the next morning. We had to call and ask for them. There also was no coffee pot in the room. We had the makings for coffee, just no pot. Location was okay and the breakfast didn't have a huge selection but it was enough to satisfy one until lunch.”

• The staff was wonderful!
• It was a little difficult to get into the hotel the way the roads were designed. Not the hotels fault but signs would help.

“The staff made our experience great! From giving directions to borrowing tape to help pack our suitcases the employees went out of their way. Thanks!”

• Very close to the airport, and great room.
• No gym, but there is a public gym 3 blocks away for $3.

“I was pleasantly surprised! Clean, plenty of size, free wireless, a kitchenette and the location was great with no airport noise (but relatively close). I'll definitely make this my regular stay when in Anchorage.”

• Parking, quiet room.
• It kind of had a musty smell.

“For what it was it was sufficient for the one night, the breakfast bar was great, the laundry room door was open the whole time, they didn't tell me there was a hot tub staff was very polite.”

• The front desk staff was very friendly, and the room was clean.
• The bed was full size rather than queen-size, which we hoped for.

“The hotel is in a convenient location. Office staff is friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, though the bed was small (full size rather than queen) and there was bedding available for the in-room hide-a-bed, but only after requesting it by calling the front desk. Still, I would highly recommend this hotel as well worth the reasonable price.”

• My husband though the room was too stark, but what does he know.

“It is a good hotel in which to stay if you are meeting people or leaving from the airport. The location is good for getting to the airport. It was very clean and for the most part quiet.”

• I liked being so close to the airport.

“The hotel smelled like cigarettes throughout. The hotel charged my visa and then asked my son for his visa for any additional charges that may come up. No additional charges were billed to the room, but the hotel once again charged the room to my son's card after it was paid for on my card. Some other people that were parked in the hotel parking lot and staying at the same hotel had their vehicles broken into and several items stolen from their vehicle.”

• Staff was great to work with. Hotel was well lighted and clean. Good continental breakfast provided.
• Dining area was situated across lobby which contributed to congestion at the check in counter.

“Appearance was modern and well maintained. Parking was somewhat crowded but readily available. Continental breakfast was very good. This hotel provides a good value for your money.”

• The location to the airport.
• The front desk clerk checking in was more concerned about her personal cell phone call than providing information.

“This hotel was nice because of its location to the airport and its shuttle. The rooms were a good size and clean. My one complaint the hotel staff horrible.”

• Toilet was absolutely disgusting, poorly cleaned for past several users.

“This is in no way a 2 star hotel when you compare it with a Hampton inn or Fairfield. Bathroom was disgusting and toilet was obviously not cleaned at all, covered with hair and piss. Ridiculous, I would not stay there!”

• The egress is not good because you have to take back roads to get to town.

• Location is ok, non smoking room was not, you could smell the smoke.

• The rooms were very comfortable, nice hotel, free Internet access.
• Strong smell of smoke In hallways.

“We liked this hotel and would stay again. The desk people (one at check In and another at check out) were not really friendly, but the room was very nice. We missed the extras In the bathrooms like hair dryer. The bed was comfortable as well.”

• The rooms were decorated nicely and were spacious.
• No blow dryer, no microwave, scant shampoo, soap.

“One of the beds had several hairs (pubic) in the sheets. It's hard to say how it happened, perhaps someone used the bed, and then made it, and housekeeping didn't think it had been used. Either way, it was an inconvenience to discover at bedtime. This same thing happened at another hotel the next night in Anchorage (the Comfort Inn) Perhaps the hotels need to put signs in the rooms to their guests asking them to strip their sheets before checkout to insure the sheets are changed.”

• Nice hotel for the price I paid.
• Nothing, wish I got there sooner to try out amenities.

“I always base my decision as to where to stay in anchorage by price. If I do not get my price we do not stay overnight. We will drive the three hours home. The room was nice. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke but that was the only bad among many good.”

“You have been warned- do not stay at the Microtel in Eagle River! The owner- he just doesn't care! Corporate doesn't care either! No A/C, not even a fan, filthy & stained carpets, stained sheets! Never again will we stay at a Microtel!”

• It was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable, the room was also larger than I expected.
• They did a poor job with the continental breakfast, it was very minimal and the only thing I though was a let down at this hotel.

“This hotel was very clean and conveniently located near the airport. The room was larger than I expected and the furnishing where clean, the bed was very comfortable with nice linens and the hall ways were wide, which added to the hotels feel and appearance of spaciousness. The staff was friendly, the workout area looked well maintained, and a computer was available for travelers to use. The continental breakfast offered a poor selection of items, which would have been greatly improved with the addition of some fruit and yogurt. I would recommend this hotel to my friends more for business travel then a romantic get away. Overall, I was satisfied with this hotel and would say that it met and exceeded my expectations. On a scale of one to 10 I give it a 7+.”

• It had couch, 2 chairs and a table, fridge and micro.
• No iron or board in the room or a hair dryer.

“It was roomy and comfortable but I feel with more then one story there should have been an elevator since the room we were given was a handicapped accessible room it would be hard with someone with disabilities.”

• The room was clean, and quiet, plus the bed was very comfortable.
• We were assigned to a smoking room.

“We had stayed at Microtel before and had pleasant, helpful staff, this time I think the young woman maybe was tired and not helpful. The beds at this hotel are the most comfortable ones compared to many other hotels that are an important item.”

• Clean, nice, good continental breakfast, friendly staff.
• They did not replenish my coffee, creamer, sugar, shampoo and lotion.

“This is a nice hotel with a friendly and professional staff. They are clean and tidy and humbly apologized for not replenishing the items used. The location is not very good for shopping around town, but very close to the airport and easy access to the airport as well. Continental breakfast starts at 6 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. for late risers. ”

“Its clean, but to many people in the hotel that like to party all night hard to get to from downtown parking is free but the hotel lets people park their cars while out of town so parking is hard to find on the lot, and there is no other place to park in the area its kind of out of the way for me to stay on a business trip. front desk person seems to be to busy on the comp all the time.”
