“I have stayed in over 200 (yes two hundred hotels and motels and inns) in my life, This was by far the worst of the worst. Had I known that, of course I would not have stayed there getting in at such a late hour. The place reeked of smoke, the carpet is too old. The bathroom (if you call it that was filthy) I complained and and was upgraded from a dog house to a dog kennel. The staff was awful and if this is what this so called hotel has to offer its guest then please save my soul for I will never be back.” Mar 12, 2009 by
RG from Deer Park, TX
“Room was tidy, but carpets were filthy. My daughter wet her bed and they didn't even change the sheets, they just made up the bed. We had to walk down the inside hallway to get to our car and saw 2 of the rooms labeled non-smoking. You could smell the smoke coming from inside the room as people were actively smoking inside.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Tim from Kemmerer, WY
“The room itself was very nice in size and was clean. The pool and hot tub area was dirty and old needs to be redone.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Wanda from San Manuel, AZ
“At first glance, this hotel looks like a skid row dump. The front desk person did not greet us and was unfriendly. We did not had the king bed room. When we checked out, however, the day clerk was apologetic.” Jul 11, 2008 by
Rich from Miles City, MT
“Hotel seems to be run on a shoe string. Maintenance is done only when they have to.” Jul 7, 2008 by
Chee S. from Singapore GB
“This hotel is good for budget travelers.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Don from Helena, MT
“The hotel has seen better days. It was not very clean, had small rooms and seemed to have a marginal clientele.” Feb 29, 2008 by
Betsy from Idaho Falls, ID
“While the room was fairly nice and clean, the fitness room was a joke, the public facilities were worn down and old.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Alicia from Orem, UT
“When checking in, I was pleased with the friendliness of the manager. However, once we got to our "non-smoking" room, the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke, as did the room slightly. Only one out of 3 lights in the room worked and there was soap and shampoo left in the shower. However, it did come with free internet and cable TV, which provided our entertainment. The bed was somewhat comfortable, and provided 4 pillows. It also allowed us to regulate the heat. If the lights were fixed and the shower cleaned better, it would have been a 6 out of 10 experience instead of a 4 out of ten.” Oct 20, 2007 by
Kim from Island Park, ID
“I felt the room was very dive and I would not stay again.” Aug 30, 2007 by
Nate from Sandy, UT
“Fairly clean rooms, however more attention to the bathrooms. The bed was great to sleep in and the room was clean. However, the bed was up on a nicely carpeted stand, but the planks of wood stuck out 3-4 inches. It just seemed a little unprofessional. I know this is only a one star hotel, but this was a little strange.” Jul 30, 2007 by
Kim from Apache Junction, AZ
“Lobby looks like a nice motel. Outside entry doors are not secure. Hallways were littered. Rowdy local bar next to motel. Due to bar patrons, parking space was unavailable by our first room. Our first room was disgusting. Carpet was sticky, I had to wear my shoes, comforter had blood stains on it (which I have pictures) the balcony door which faced the bar did not lock! Loud music from bar, people running around outside. When I called the front desk and they couldn't fix the door, they asked if I wanted another room. I said yes. The clerk left, then ten minutes later the front desk called to ask if I was still changing rooms. We were informed that we then had to go back to the front desk and turn in our keys before we could have our upgraded room. This room had a king size bed with only a shower. The comforter and sheets were clean. The chairs in this room were filthy (which I have pictures). I do have to say that I was at least able to walk on the carpet without my shoes. Had it not been 12:30am, we would have gone to another motel. Although, we were upgraded, the clerk who waited on us was not very friendly. Given the amenities that they listed and the price I paid, I expected a better situation. I would not recommend this hotel and would warning any female traveling alone not to even consider staying there. Pay the extra twenty dollars and stay somewhere else.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Eom from Los Angeles, CA
“So .” Jul 6, 2007 by
Todd from Billings, MT
“Overall it was very dirty, hallways, pool area, and parking lot. The hot tub didn't work properly and when we complained, the clerk said she would contact the maintenance man. We had serious doubts that there really was a maintenance man. The hot tub and pool were both dirty.” Jun 29, 2007 by
Richard from Miles City, MT
“Hotel basically OK. Liked the courtyard.” Jun 19, 2007 by
Chris from Burley, ID
“I could have got this same room for less if I had called the hotel directly. This hotel will not be recommended by me or my family.” Apr 24, 2007 by
Brent from Moscow, ID
“This evidently was once a "classy" place, adjacent to a golf course. It is still kept clean, but is otherwise declining to decrepitude.” Jan 2, 2007 by
Kenneth D. from Eagle Mountain, UT
“I didn't get to stay there. I called the hotel as stated on your confirmation to see if I could get a double bed and non smoking. I told them (I have done this many times) that I was to call directly for special request. Needless to say, I never went, I cancelled the trip and did something else. I would never recommend this hotel if they treat customers that way. I have done many hotels with you and have been fine. This hotel is not one that likes you. I lost the money, but I guess I saved gas and food expenses.” Oct 2, 2006 by
Sandi from East Carondlete, IL
“This hotel is kind of out of the way. The staff was friendly & helpful, but hotel needs updated. Must take steps, as all rooms are either up or down steps. Not too easy to get luggage to room.” Sep 19, 2006 by
Naomi from Melba, ID
“Great place, friendly employees, wonderful breakfast.” Sep 6, 2006 by
Kara from Springville, UT
“This was the worst motel we have ever stayed in. We were given a key to our room and it was already occupied. The rooms smelled of smoke. It was run down and dirty.” Sep 4, 2006 by
Mary from Boise, ID
“Services were very good and the room above satisfactory. The continental breakfast was worth waking up to and the workers were very friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.” Aug 24, 2006 by
Korey from Lewiston, UT
“The courtyard of the hotel was nice, but the place was quite noisy and seemed to be more of a hangout for young adults than a place to take children. The staff was very friendly and courteous.” Aug 15, 2006 by
Kenneth from Dingle, ID
“The room we had was large enough for a family of six. we were close to the areas we needed to be at or visit.” Jul 30, 2006 by
Larry from Boise, ID
“N/A” Jul 26, 2006 by
Marty from Wendell, ID
“The room was very clean and offered more to the occupant than I expected. I think the star rating is set too low for this Motel, it should be higher. Great place to stay and I plan to return.” Jul 25, 2006 by
Rob C. from Ogden, UT
“Pine crest Inn is well located just off the Yellowstone Hwy. It is an older property with serious need for room updates, but the friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms and low price make it an ideal one night stop en route to or from the parks. It is also less than an 2 hour drive over Teuton Pass to Jackson where a hotel like this would cost 3 or 4 times as much. Rooms have a microwave oven and small refrigerator.” Jul 6, 2006 by
Billie from Winnemucca, NV
“We booked 2 hotel rooms. We showed up after 5pm and was told that the rooms were still being cleaned and we would not be allowed to check in for another hour (at least). After we finally checked in, unloaded the car, we were able to get into the room (after 6pm). But soon found out that if we left, we would be unable to get back in because the keys weren't working. The maintenance man came but could not fix it. They had to call a second man to come fix it. We didn't want to have to reload the luggage into the car, could not leave our luggage in the room with the door having to stay open, and were told it wouldn't take long. We waited over 2 hours for it to get fixed. We asked for another room, we were denied. They told us they were booked, however, not everyone had checked in so we should have been given a room and when the key was fixed they could move one of the later arrivals to that room. The hotel did not seem very sanitary either and the air conditioner didn't work. I have never been so unsatisfied with a hotel, however, because of this experience.” Jul 6, 2006 by
Alan from South Jordan, UT
“The facilities wasn't in top condition. It also appeared that some of the helper's families was using the pool and hot tub.” Jun 24, 2006 by
Linda from Derby, KS
“Attractive, comfortable room, and lots of extras - a central courtyard with pool, whirlpool, and exercise equipment. Continental breakfast was nice. We felt we got a very good value for the money.” Jun 23, 2006 by
Nader from Ogden, UT
“Pleasant and clean ¿ amenities could be better.” Jun 19, 2006 by
Callie from Homedale, ID
“Very nice looking room, however, the carpeted floor was very dirty (walking barefoot across floor left feet black and "filmy"). Also heavy perfumed room was difficult to take.” Jun 18, 2006 by
Janette from Highland, UT
“We will never do business with you again! Your website rated it as a 2 star, I would call it a 1 based on a 5 star rating system. It was filthy dirty, esp. the floor. I did not dare let my 11 month old crawl on the floor. We tried to contact your customer service department but were told sorry. Where a company depends on customer satisfaction and repeat customers you sure do fail. We will never use you again and we will tell all our family, friends, and associates how deceiving you are not and are not willing to listen to your consumer. You need to re-evaluate your business because its terrible.” Jun 18, 2006 by
S from Lehi, UT
“Not at all a good experience. ” Jun 12, 2006 by
John from Park City, UT
“You should change this hotel from the 2 star you claim it to be to a one star, so people know what they are agreeing to stay in.” May 29, 2006 by
Mel from Glendora, CA
“For the price, very good motel. is getting old but appears it is being upgraded. it was very close to our families home which made it very easy to move about. close to "old town" Idaho Falls but a few minutes to "new" shopping district. very nice people. continental breakfast was offered and a very good diner was near buy. next to golf course which many people there was for that purpose. overall good place but is not a hotel. pool, hot tub, sauna, and small exercise room was available but needed updating.” May 24, 2006 by
Gale from Laurel, MT
“Good value for the price, staff is very friendly and graciously allowed a move when we smelled smoke in our non-smoking room. This is not the Taj Mahal, but beds are comfortable and clean rooms are all you need for a short stay.” May 23, 2006 by
Chris from Ankeny, IA
“Everything was good and spacious and even seemed clean EXCEPT the floors. As we walked either barefoot or in stocking feet, we quickly realized the floor was filthy. Our feet and socks were literally BLACK. Each night we each threw away our socks. I strongly suggest that they have the carpets shampooed!!! They are awful. 2 nights x 16 pair of socks!!! They were that bad that we knew they would not be salvageable even after washing! PLEASE suggest that they clean the carpets immediately!! Other than that, the accommodations were great.” May 21, 2006 by
Evan from Denver, CO
“It was run down, dirty, the air conditioning did not work I was afraid to walk on the floor without shoes on. When the girl at the front desk saw how shocked I was she put me in the best room she had. She was the only bright spot in my stay. Even the better room was the worst room I have ever rented! The biggest joke is your website said the median price for a 2 star in Idaho Falls was $85.00. This was an awful experience.” May 16, 2006 by
Chad J. from Afton, WY
“Hotel was older but rooms were remodeled and in OK shape. Only problem was that I paid 40 plus 10 in fees. This is not the type of hotel I would normally stay at so this was frustrating.” May 15, 2006 by
Joe D. from Blackfoot, ID
“Good location close to golf course. Has a secluded courtyard. Free breakfast is cereal, Danish and bagels. No interior access to office, must go outside through parking lot or courtyard. Could be difficult for older people in cold months. Very average motel.” May 10, 2006 by
Colleen from Herriman, UT
“The front desk workers were very helpful and friendly. They informed us that the hotel has undergone 2 ownership changes in the last month and were in the process of change. They also said that the hotel would be getting a complete remodel and better features and amenities will be added. When the remodel is complete I am sure the hotel will be of better quality. Our stay was fine for one night, but not what we expected from a "two star" hotel.” May 6, 2006 by
Arlene from New Plymouth, ID
“Nice, clean hotel, the price is right, family friendly. We have stayed here several times.” May 3, 2006 by
Chad from Winston Salem, NC
“The hotel is very old. The biggest problem is that the carpet is very old and smells like mildew. Not only that, but the carpet was absolutely filthy. Our feet became black after walking around in our room. We informed the staff, but they didn't do anything. The walls are thin. Be prepared to hear your neighbors. Also, we needed a crib. The crib was not very clean and also smelled like mildew. The only positive thing about the stay was that they provided a very simple continental breakfast (oatmeal, bread, Danishes, etc.)” Apr 26, 2006 by
Darlne from Afton, WY
“We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back in the future.” Apr 25, 2006 by
Judith from Rupert, ID
“Cleanliness is so important to most travelers and Pinecrest was not in the least clean. ” Apr 18, 2006 by
Susan from Helena, MT
“The hotel is located a little out of the way, but Idaho Falls is not that large of a town. It is an older property that has been remodeled.” Apr 12, 2006 by
Matthew from Thaynw, WY
“Great for the price and it met our expectations.” Apr 8, 2006 by
Brady from Driggs, ID
“Good economy hotel if you have more money to spend stay at one of the hotels on the river.” Mar 15, 2006 by
Pam from Nampa, ID
“It was an older hotel, but it was ok. We heard the guy next to us talking all night long.”
