“The hotel was extremely comfortable and staff was very accommodating. The rooms are large and bathrooms are so nice and spacious loved the separate tub and glass enclosed shower. The gardens are beautiful. The hotel is lovely, it's ambiance and cleanliness will assure, we will be back.” Oct 21, 2009 by

“This resort was wonderful. There is beach access ($10) right across from the resort. Or you can drive about 5-10 south and go to Imperial Beach for free. Great area, love San Diego” Oct 1, 2009 by
Janet from Salt Lake City,UT
“I thought the hotel was great. It was farther away than we had expected, next time I think we'd rent a car rather than use a taxi, the cab fare was pricey.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Marissa from New York,NY
“Our experience at the Loews was shockingly bad. First, we were informed upon check-in that the king room we had requested in advance was not available -- the only bed options were two fulls or a pull out queen size sleeper sofa. Yes, they actually offered us a sleeper sofa as an option! They would cut a suite in half and give us the living room portion. I found this really insulting and took the two double beds -- there went any hope of romance for me and my husband! The customer service only deteriorated from there. Broken safe in the room.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Ashraf from Hb,CA
“Fantastic quiet location, superb views, very relaxing atmosphere, complimentary lemonade in lobby and swimming pool areas lovely gesture, very kids friendly excellent service on private beach and shuttle service.” Aug 15, 2009 by

“We could never afford this resort at the price we received. I thank Loews and priceline for giving us this opportunity.” Aug 4, 2009 by
Peggy from Georgetown,TX
“Hotel that is beautiful and elegant but also kid and pet friendly!!” Jun 22, 2009 by
Karen from Littleton,CO
“Remodeling was occuring and the hotel was not full. The grounds are beautiful the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was older and not yet remodeled but clean and very nice. We had a wonderful stay.” Jun 19, 2009 by
Debbie from Glendale,AZ
“The rooms are large and with private sitting balconies. The bathroom is design with a modern spa like feeling. This is definitely a dog friendly resort. Guest walk around sporting their pooches everywhere. If you are afraid of man's best friend this not the place to be.” Jun 11, 2009 by
Ned from Palo Alto,CA
“Lovely rooms, some construction going on, nice setting, although a little inconveneient.” May 28, 2009 by
Jo from Beaumont,CA
“The walls here were very thin, and I could hear kids running up and down the hallways on the floor above us. Also, the housekeepers talked loudly the whole time they cleaned the room next to us and we could hear almost every word. Was good for our purposes, as we left early in the morning but I would have been extremely upset if I had wanted to sleep in or relax. Also, didn't bother with the hotel buffet. The service was poor and the food wasn't that good. You could do just as well at Denny's for cheaper.” May 1, 2009 by
Ron from San Diego,CA
“This resort is at a beautiful location on Coronado Island. It is far enough away from the crowds, but closed enough to downtown Coronado to visit.” Apr 28, 2009 by
Dwayne from San Clemente,CA
“No restaurants were open on the entire property as it seemed that we were the only guests who were not part of the kosher group that was having a function. We could not order room service or even eat at the bar.” Apr 27, 2009 by
Lisa from Hopkinton,MA
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was beautiful, on the water and away from crowds.” Apr 8, 2009 by
Amy from Moraga,CA
“Beautiful property at the end of Coronado Island. Soothing, clean guest rooms, terrific bathrooms, 3 pools. A great, family and pet-friendly resort.” Apr 2, 2009 by
Tracy from Plainville,CT
“Overall it was nice for the brief stay but the food service was very slow and the room veiws were awkward and nothing special.” Mar 25, 2009 by
RBC from San Diego,CA
“Excellent hotel with a beautiful view and location. Amazing room and bathroom. Pet friendly. Did not enjoy $22 charge for parking, $10 charge for microwave or $25 charge for pets.” Mar 25, 2009 by
Dave from Chandler,AZ
“The parking situation was a disaster. They had an event the weekend we were there. We had to move our car three times during the night because we were forced to park in a tow away zone. Mar 23, 2009 by
Basem from Flint,MI “Very nice. I would bring my family again for more extended period of time.” Feb 26, 2009 by
Bob from Carmwl,CA
“This very upscale but unpretensious resort is on the beautiful Silver Strand Beach on the south end of the magnificent Coronado Island. Fantastic views of the Bay and downtown San Diego looking through the grand Bay Bridge. Relaxing and rRomantic within a short stroll to the Pacific Ocean.” Jan 6, 2009 by
Charles from Granada Hills,CA
“The staff was helpful, courteous, and efficient. The location is close to the marina, beach, and Coronado business district. A bike and jogging path has ocean views on both sides.” Dec 27, 2008 by
Greg from Glendale,CA
“Private, isolated hotel near Coronado. Clean, quiet rooms that are a little outdated. Superb staff and service.” Oct 30, 2008 by

“Nice get away.” Oct 22, 2008 by

“We really enjoy coming to this hotel because of its location and the rooms are also really nice with great views. The kids love the pool area and ordering the kid's meals there. They also like to play in the sand and lay on the kid's lounges. They are also very generous when celebrating special occasions and always gives you something special. They also give the kid's toys when they arrive which the kids really like.” Oct 9, 2008 by
Jenni
“Overall great experience, however, we had two situations where the service fell down. We didn't have a hair dryer and it took 3 phone calls and finally a visit to the front desk to get one. The following morning, we went to the front desk and asked for creamer and they said they couldn't give it to us, they would sent it up. We never got it. It is a beautiful hotel, the beds and bedding was absolutely fabulous. The view from our room was great. Loved having a balcony to drink our morning coffee. Loved the robes. I would definitely stay again.

“Great hotel with plenty of amenities - access to the beach, great pools, food and more.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Barbara from Silvis, IL
“There are lots of fun activities for all ages. If you are inclined to lounge, you can do that too, on your balcony watching sailboats on the bay while sipping a glass of wine. The rooms are spacious and it's possible to spread out and watch TV or read. The friendly staff want you to enjoy!” Sep 8, 2008 by
Lisa from Smithfield, VA
“This was our first time at this hotel and we were delighted with the ambience and service. We ordered room service and ate on our patio this first night - we enjoyed it so much, we did the same thing for breakfast - a first for us. Really a great experience and we want to go again.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Kevin from Altadena, CA

“A beautiful resort hotel right on the San Diego bay. Fabulous views of the city, while still feeling away from all of the traffic of a big city. Would absolutely stay there again.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Cheryl from Arroyo Grande, CA
“The weather was perfect. The hotel really catered to our young children. The pool area was spacious and accommodated a large crowd without being over crowded. We loved the beach being so close to the hotel. We really missed having a fridge in our room, with having young children this is a necessity. Our overall experience was great.” Aug 29, 2008 by
John from Columbia, MD
“A really nice hotel dumped on to a really poor location. There were no nice views, and nothing within walking distance. I would never stay here again.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Eric from Brighton, CO
“I've been visiting San Diego several times a year for the past 14 years, as my children and their mother live there. This was my first stay on Coronado as I usually stay in Mission Valley. The hotel was great, with a friendly staff, beautiful lobby, great bar in the lobby, and a fantastic restaurant called Mistral on premise. We had steak as a main course, which was very good. However, the best part of the meal was an artichoke heart appetizer, you must have it! The only complaint I had was that there were numerous small children running, screaming, and causing havoc, in the halls and in the pools. Had I been there with small children it wouldn't have been an issue. However, I was there with my new girlfriend and I had other things in mind.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Jamie from Granada Hills, CA
“The hotel exceeded our expectations. We felt secluded and in a resort like hotel. The room had a partial view of the bay. However it also had a part view of the parking structure. The poolside was excellent in the fact that they had an adult pool only yet the service wasn't impeccable when they charge for the extra accommodations such as snow cones, popsicles, and other perks that the 4 Seasons give you at their poolside. Would've made a difference. Overall, it was a great stay and the staff was friendly and accommodating. It was worth staying at the Loews and I would go back there.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Aleksandra from Huntington Beach, CA
“The hotel should not be four star rating. They charge premium prices for the breakfast buffet but they do not have the place where people can sit and eat it! Thank you!” Aug 18, 2008 by
Kathryn from Rancho Palos Verdes, CA
“Loews Coronado is a beautiful facility. It is located 3-4 miles away from downtown Coronado, on a strip of land that has a marina on the hotel side, the highway down the middle, and a beach on the other side. We used the hotel restaurant only for breakfast. Its service was unusual: a great breakfast buffet for $15, but a terribly slow line to be seated every day, while 10-12 tables sat empty.” Aug 10, 2008 by
Danielle from Castaic, CA
“The hotel is clean and in a nice getaway location. Gift shop and restaurateur personnel are very friendly. Restaurants and room service food were good. The bad was there was a not sop small brush fire underneath the foliage below our room. After no one showed up the neighbor called 911, who said they knew nothing of the fire form hotel staff. This brush fire was very smoky and set off the fire alarms for the entire building, waking my children and other guests children. Smoke filled several rooms and when many several guests with medical conditions, asthma for example asked if we could relocate, we were told that the, hotel Emergency Response Staff would be able to put down any fire that occurred. One man was coughing so much that other guests had to call a doctor because the desk staff said, we do not have a doctor but I can give you a list of numbers. Someone needs to tell this hotel that upscale includes meeting the needs of the guests, especially in an Emergency.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Donna from Scottsdale, AZ
“Overall the hotel was very nice, clean and nicely appointed rooms. The exception was the person I called prior to arrival to request 2 double beds as I am traveling with children. I was told they didn't have any.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Ron from Coto De Caza, CA
“Good hotel, plenty of activities, child friendly.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Richard from Alameda, CA
“We were hoping for an early check in since our flight arrived early. But with turnover and cleaning it did not occur. In fact we checked into our first room 45 minutes after the established check in time. We would have appreciated a better read on the situation since we were traveling with an infant. During this time we did have access to the hotel's facilities though. Overall, the hotel experience was outstanding - very accommodating and service oriented.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Yvonne from Tucson, AZ
“I highly recommend this resort for families. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially when I needed to change rooms due to the wrong number of beds.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Halla from Tucson, AZ
“Great and relaxing.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Kelly from Lancaster, MA
“Loved the property with the location was a little more convenient.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Jennifer from Henderson, NV
“We loved the hotel. We had a problem with the people above us who just happened to be two young girls partying and would walk non stop from 10-1 am back and dancing prior to going out for the night. We called the front desk, security and finally my husband handled it. On the second night of this occurring the security took care of it immediately. At check out my third night the hotel manager apologized and took steps to appease us. We loved the hotel and will be returning in October again.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Kelly from Escondido, CA
“Nice place - pretty far out there on the Silver Strand. People were friendly and helpful. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Including my own - sheets were high thread count too!” Jun 16, 2008 by
Marianne from Chula Vista, CA
“The overall setting for this get - away was the perfect choice for our 33 anniversery, the only damper on the whole experience was the overpriced poorly seasoned food at the Mistrel, the other restaurant cafe downstairs off the lobby was both tasty and priced correctly. I would and plan to visit this hotel again I truly felt like we rested and got a much needed break from our daily grind.” Jun 16, 2008 by
David from Denver, CO
“Beautiful beach location, far enough from the hustle of the city but not too far. Great for the 40+ traveler that wants a quiet escape either alone or with a loved one. Plenty of activities from bicycle rentals to Gondola rides. Wonderful dining options. Highly recommend it.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Lovie from Greenville, SC
“All inclusive resort type atmoshphere, access to kayaks and boats, and the beach. Large rooms with views of the bay. Friendly staff and atmosphere. This was a family friendly type of hotel.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Jared from St. George, UT
“The hotel was great. Bed was comfortable. Only drawback is that it is 15 min away from main part of Coronado. You want a car if you are doing anything outside the hotel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
