• Although the hallways were standard, the room was very nicely appointed.
• I couldn't figure out how to set the alarm on the clock radio and almost missed my flight.

• The restaurant and pool were nice.
• When we arrived the room they assigned us was not ready and they had to get us another one.

“The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to the airport and highway. It was nice to have the Bennigan's restaurant in the hotel-good happy hour specials!”

• The location was exactly what I needed.
• Not crazy about the handicap shower [only because you wanted me to be critical about something].

• Quiet and warm.
• A little old and worn.

“The bed was comfortable, with excellent linens. It was warm. I did not need to turn the heater on at night, due to good linens and warmth of room. Bathroom was cleaner than most. The location was quiet, although close to airport.”

• Room was contemporary, clean, and had all the necessary amenities.
• It took the heater several minutes to come on and we thought it was broken and had to call the front desk.

“I was impressed with the inviting lobby area, friendly staff, and modern, well decorated facilities. The room was clean, the bed was fabulously comfy and decked out with luxuriant pillows, and the bathroom was sparkling. The hot tub was the perfect temperature, and the pool was crystal clear. We were impressed with the hotel and would stay there again.”

• Shuttle to airport and they watched my vehicle while away.
• They charged my credit card for amenities not used.

“Very convenient for travelers out of Des Moines. I would have paid the same amount for parking that I did to stay overnight in a nice motel and have a breakfast and shuttle in the morning. Very nice, spacious rooms.”

• Decaf coffee only in self serve comp coffee tray.

“Was not expecting much at the best western DSM airport, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Easy access to room via controlled access door from parking lot. Bed was extremely comfy. Good TV entertainment, microwave and fridge in room. Jacuzzi spa was inoperative during my stay. Overall a very pleasant experience.”

• The pool and whirlpool where great. And the cafe next to it.
• The 2 ice machines on the lower level where out of order.

“I was so shocked, first because the room was so nice and big and very clean. And second, we where so close to the pool. I loved it. Will definitely tell our friends. Oh yes and the shuttle from the hotel to airport. Gods send!”

“Wow. Has the best western changed (at least at this airport location)! Clean, attractive, nice staff, within a nano second of the airport and 24 hour service to and from the Des Moines airport. Extremely pleasant staff all around and a nice little breakfast. Perfect.”

• The bed was one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. Very comfortable!
• Tub had some cosmetic damage, but still worked well.

“Excellent for the price. I would stay there again for that price. Breakfast set up was excellent, with good food and selection. Also enjoyed the wireless internet.”

• We needed to convert from a king to 2 queens, no problem, and great staff.
• Front desk person was not a multitask person.

“This was a very nice hotel, the room and beds were very comfortable and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed the pool and exercise room, but time would not allow that. I would stay there again.”

• I don't like the bath room; there is no ventilation which causes smoky steam during shower.

• The room was ready right down to the special way they folded the hand towels, tissue paper, and toilet paper ends.
• They had a very good quiche breakfast.

There was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, alarm clock, iron {and board), hair dryer, and a clothes line in the shower for wet swimsuits. The pool area was well kept and immaculate. The lobby decor was beautiful. I really enjoyed our stay here. Keep it up Best Western.”

• Our room had a strange odor.

“The hotel reception staff is not customer service oriented. The main staff member was on the phone with a customer when we arrived to check in and we had to stand and wait until she finally asked someone else standing in the office to help us. I forgot some shoes in our room. I went back there later in the day and the room had been cleaned, but, the maid did not turn in my shoes. They offered to call me If they were able to find them and I will have to pay the UPS cost to ship them to me. I think they should have been turned in by the maid immediately. Since they weren't, I think the hotel should have offered to send them to me free of charge. They have not called me yet. The hotel also charged my credit card. I don't know why or for what? Upon checking out, I confirmed that there was no additional charge. The bed was very comfortable. The shower / bathroom were nice. Warm water, good water pressure, and nice shower head. The room was clean but, there was a slight, strange odor in the room. The pool & hot tub were nice. The fitness area was fairly small, but, it was nice for a hotel this size. There were approximately 5 pieces of equipment + a weight bench. The close proximity to the airport would be nice for business travelers.”

• It was very nice and convenient as far as best westerns go.
• It was a bit noisy, but it was a Friday night.

“This was the best Best Western hotel I had stayed in, I believe it used to be a Sheraton 4 Points and the quality seemed to be maintained. Convenient location near the airport made the early flight easier. While the desk clerk was a bit surly at first, she was helpful and attentive.”

“The Bennigans hotel was seedy. We got there on a night for Karaoke and it was very hard to listen to even for the few minutes I was there just waiting for my appetizers TO GO. I was not at all impressed with this hotel.”

“When we entered the room, it appeared to be a 5 star hotel. The bedding was very lavish, the beds were excellent and the decor of the room was very nice. This is an excellent hotel to stay at. We were very pleased to have a Benigans restaurant attached to the hotel. Excellent value and an excellent place to stay. Highly recommended.”

“We were very disappointed with this hotel. Our first room was extremely musty smelling. We requested a new room and was given that immediately. The second room. Much more pleasant smelling, however the bathtub really needed to be replaced and we did not know until we showered the next morning that the tub drain was plugged. So when showering you stood in approximately 5-6 inches of water. It was gross. The toilet handle stuck after flushing so the water ran until the handle was jiggled. The continental breakfast was a joke. Donuts, yogurt and coffee. That was it.”
