• I enjoyed the hot breakfast.

“I have stayed in this Holiday Inn Express on many occasions. When I arrived at the hotel, I asked for a room with 2 beds as it is uncomfortable for me to sleep with anyone else in the bed. I was informed by the clerk that the standard room, which was a king. He was quite rude about it as well.”

• The bed is so comfortable I slept nearly the entire time and I haven't slept in weeks!
• One staff member was a bit bossy with another right in front of me.

• Everything was as it should be and very nice. Breakfast included hot eggs, sausage, biscuits and meat gravy! Many hotels only offer carbs, donuts, etc.
• Liked everything.

• Enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well as breakfast.
• I was very late arriving and had a smoking room which was very hard on my allergies.

“The room was clean but did smell smoky. The pool area was clean and comfortable to use. The breakfast buffet was generous and the staff kept it well supplied.”

• Banging sound from outside window at 5 am - 8 am.

“The room was clean and nicely furnished. Even though we were on the 5th floor, the noises from outside made it very difficult to sleep. The breakfast was very good with many selections.”

• The ceilings in the bathroom were really dirty and disgusting.

“This room was very appropriate for all types of travelers. My wife and I used the room for a one night retreat and it suited our needs perfectly. The large TV and apartment fridge more than met our expectations. Breakfast was fantastic.”

• The pool was really warm just like a bathtub.
• There was a small amount of updating/fix ups that could be done.

“The pool was the best that I think I have ever experienced; we got there late, so did not get into it but went to view it and while I was there I put my feet in on the top step didn't have the time in the morning either. They also had toys there for kids to play with while in the pool very nice!”

• They have refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms.
• No restaurant.

“This is the 3rd hotel we have stayed at in the Coralville area. The other 2 were 3 stars and this hotel beat them by far. The parking is free. They have a managers reception Monday-Thursday. Hot fresh cookies every night and breakfast buffet every morning. The staff was very friendly and rooms were very nice.”

• There was a cigarette odor that entered the room overnight, most likely from the bathroom vent.

“It was better than I expected for a 2-star hotel. I would recommend to anyone who needs to stay in this area, whether for business or leisure. The continental breakfast was excellent. Slight cigarette odor came in during the night, apparently from bathroom vent. That was the only negative.”

“Certain floors were under construction but the entire hotel was filthy. Chairs and carpet were badly soiled in our room. We asked to be moved and were "upgraded" to a room that was equally filthy.”

“The hotel is near many good eating establishments, an excellent shopping mall and is very easy to get to off a main highway. The rooms are very clean and a complimentary breakfast is provided with many choices. All in all, a very good value for the money.”

• I loved getting the room for the low rate, and when I got there, it was clean, attractive, and conveniently located.
• No complaints. My son wished there was some form of meat at the continental breakfast.

“The hotel was easy to locate and in an area within close proximity to a large mall, which added to the convenience and safety aspects. It was very clean and well kept, with many nice amenities, including a refrigerator in each room, something not always found in a 2-star rated hotel/motel. A hot breakfast was complimentary. Top Value!”

“What a great hotel! Very spacious, comfortable room and quality bed linens. The room had a microwave and refrigerator, and the hotel had laundry facilities. Excellent free breakfast. Nice pool and whirlpool, and they even had pool toys. We are still talking about how great this hotel was, and how much we enjoyed staying there!”

• There was not a single thing that I didn't like!

“I have never been so pleased with every aspect of my hotel stay before. The quality of all aspects of my room was more like that of a 3 star hotel - yet the hotel had the features of a 2 or 2 1/2 star hotel: free breakfast, free wireless internet, etc. The holiday inn express is the best of both worlds for a great price!”

• It was underrated, great decoration, very crisp and new, comfortable, affordable, easy to find and easy to get to room. Great stay.

“This hotel is comfortable, convenient and underrated at only 2 stars. It has high end amenities like wireless internet, quality soaps and other toiletries products and great staff. Decoration is fresh and new, hotel is efficiently designed and there were no long or complicated walks to our room. Parking is efficient and easy and it was a great stay.”

• Non-smoking rooms need to have a better barrier from smoking rooms.

• No shampoo or cleanser in room though signs said was free.

“I was pleasantly surprised at how big and nice the room was. The front desk staff seemed unhelpful to the angry traveler in front of me. There was no shampoo or cleanser in my room although the hotel signs bragged about how good it was. All in good a very good value.”
