“The lobby was very nice looking; I was looking forward to seeing the room. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the condition of the room; it was old and dingy feeling. There were wall tiles missing from the shower. My stay was short, fortunately.” Oct 10, 2007 by
Clarence from Cullen, VA
“After going to two other rooms that reeked of smoke, we finally were given a decent room. When we asked about a room in the north tower we were told it would be an extra 35$ a night, which we didn't do. The parking lot was very dark at night and was not lit very well and our room had little bugs running around. We told the management and were offered another room, but we figured we had better leave well enough alone. All in all, it was an ok room.” Oct 10, 2007 by
Dave from New Berlin, WI
“Lobby / grounds are nice. Good location. Rooms were very basic and need to be updated. The age of the rooms make them seem semi dirty. Small TV.” Oct 9, 2007 by
David from Lynn Haven, FL
“Hotel in process of renovating. They are in process of spray painting the hotel and overspray got on my car. Waiting on Hotel to contact me to get fixes.” Oct 8, 2007 by
Debra from Summerfield, FL
“I would not stay at this hotel again. For a resort it really missed the mark.” Oct 1, 2007 by
Stewart from Miami, FL
“The rooms with mold, elevator not working, the stairs were painted and the masking tape were never taken out, the safety rail outside the room rusted and almost falling, cant lean on it or u will fall 2 story down to the parking lot, part of the roof outside the room falling. Smelly rooms. Toilet not working properly. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed! And they charge me a 7 dollars resort fee on checkout. Is not about the 7 dollars but how can they called that a resort! Its a shame.” Sep 22, 2007 by
Cesar A. from Phoenix, AZ
“The hotel was not a problem at all. Although the distance to the convention I was attending In Disney world was not significant It made It Impossible to be driving back and forth from the hotel to the different events I had to attend, I got a room at the hotel hosting the convention and could not cancel the pre-paid stay at the metropolitan.” Sep 22, 2007 by
John from Gainesville, FL
“Very nice for the price.” Sep 19, 2007 by
Donna P. from Ocala, FL
“If you can stay in the new building, you'll have a very nice room. The rooms are in need of repair (our toilet seat was broken), there's a musty odor, and the room was dirty. I couldn't and wouldn't spend the night in those rooms. I would rate them a 1 star at best. The common areas seemed fine.” Sep 18, 2007 by
Rick from Okeechobee, FL
“I stayed at this hotel when it was the Radisson Barceló; I feel the rooms are in poor shape.” Sep 18, 2007 by
Letitia from Jenkinsville, SC
“I wouldn't ever want to stay there again. The rooms were nasty and filthy. It was a complete dump! I absolutely hated this hotel! I also didn't like paying the additional fee for this resort!” Sep 12, 2007 by
Paula from Goodyear, AZ
“The resort was nice and the staff was friendly. I would consider going back to the resort if I plan on making future trips to Orlando.” Sep 10, 2007 by
Dinesh from Memphis, TN
“Orlando metropolitan hotel has two buildings. New and old. When I requested for a nicer room they put me in their new building for extra money.” Sep 9, 2007 by
Tiffany from Tampa, FL
“The hotel was recently purchased and is under new ownership. I stayed there when it was still the Barceló. They are working towards improving the facility and it appears that one day it will be very nice but I would not recommend staying there while it is undergoing renovations.” Sep 9, 2007 by
Sharon from Miami, FL
“Would not return.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Christopher from Green Cove Springs, FL
“We arrived at the hotel at 10pm with our two young children sleeping. We were immediately impressed by the old school 'Days Inn style' balconies of the hotel. Even more impressive was the plastic bags that lined the balcony in what seemed to be an attempt at refurbishing the place. My wife and I locate a parking spot about 100 yards from the building. The next noticeable fallacy of the hotel was the various puddles of standing water which were unavoidable if you wanted to get to your destination. We found the elevator on the side of building closest to our 4th floor room. We were kindly informed by some other guest that the elevator was not working properly. Already fatigued and desperate not to wake our children, we trekked through the puddles to the other side of the hotel, and distrustfully use the 2nd elevator to finally arrive at our room. To make a long story shorter: 1) the pillows were old, flat and had yellow stains on them; 2) Busted chest of drawers; 3) I had to use my big toe to hold the drain down while talking a shower to prevent the water from filling the tub; 4) The air conditioner blew directly at the bed and froze the closest person to it, me! I had to take two chairs and some towels to block the air. One conciliation about our stay; we were reassured the next morning that the elevator pulley system was not faulty the night before we left by a 6 year old girl coming from the pool. She knew exactly where to kick the elevator door to make it close properly.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Nilesh from Pleasant Hill, CA
“Overall a good experience and will surely return for the same price.” Sep 7, 2007 by
Rodolfo from Coral Springs, FL
“This is the worst hotel I have stayed in my life.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Felton from Jacksonville, FL
“I was shocked when the manager upgraded our room to a luxury king vs. She was extremely nice, and I was very impressed. I will look forward to staying there again.” Sep 5, 2007 by
Angie from Englewood, FL
“The hotel staff was friendly, however, they were remodeling a couple of doors down and it was noisy. They were also painting the elevators, stairs, and walls. The elevator didn't work half the time. The room was in decent shape just not what we expected.” Aug 31, 2007 by
Greg from Brighton, MI
“They gave me a discounted room for the next night and moved me over to the better rooms (which would be a 3 star) instead of the dingy bug infected old rooms.” Aug 30, 2007 by
Phil from Palmetto, FL
“We enjoyed our stay there and would go back.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Ken from Dunedin, FL
“Had to walk to lobby for internet, 3.00 resort charge on a one star side 35.00 for up grade to 2 1/2 *side.” Aug 25, 2007 by
Amy from Philadelphia, PA
“This hotel is convenient to get to places around. However this hotel does not meet its expectation of a 2.5 star hotel. The room is not very clean. The hallway smells very funny. Neither elevator nor the hallway has air conditioner. Although the hotel is small but the pool is a pleasant place to hang out as a family. Its decent and spacious.” Aug 23, 2007 by
David from Jacksonville, FL
“Bang for the buck you cant beat it. The lobby and employees were fantastic! The room was not as one would think walking into the lobby but they were clean and I slept well so I am pleased.” Aug 22, 2007 by
Pat from Detroit, MI
“Surprisingly good quality rooms despite the negative reviews I had read. One room had to be changed due to unclean bathroom. Fantastic pool area.” Aug 20, 2007 by
Shelby from Ormond Beach, FL
“Dirty, old and rundown, stained carpet, toilet and shower did not work. Hotel charged an additional resort fee upon arrival. I have never stayed in place that was so gross and disgusting. There was crusty stuff and hair on the walls. I refused to shower in the room it was so bad.” Aug 19, 2007 by
Frank from Davie, FL
“I have been in Orlando many times; this is the worst hotel I stayed in. After two days in this hotel, I think it would be lucky for this hotel to make 1-star. The ice machine was out of order on the 5th floor close to my room. The elevator smells, so does the room. No complimentary breakfast. What I hate most is the hidden charge: a few dollars a day that you have to pay in addition.” Aug 17, 2007 by
Angelin from Andover, KS
“The hotel was impressive coming in, but had a lot of staff that didn't speak English which made things very difficult. The hotel buffet food was overcooked the morning we ate there and there wasn't a waffle buffet as they advertised. Room service was great; I never had to ask for towels once. Pool was open really late which was very enjoyable after the Disney parks. Dining and shopping were close by and very convenient to walk to, yet the hotel sits back far enough that it was very quiet. The little gift shop in the hotel had friendly staff and was nice when we needed something and didn't want to go out for it.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Charles from Spring Hill, FL
“Staff was rude. Hotel room was small and only had one child cable channel and about 20 channels all together. The rooms beneath ours were being refurbished and the elevators were nasty dirty.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Judy from Tonawanda, NY
“I had to spend $35 to upgrade my room to the new building with the deluxe rooms. The building my original room that you had booked for me was disgusting. The elevator didn't work properly and my room smelled like urine. I stayed in that room for maybe 5 minutes before going to back to the front desk. The staff member didn't apologize for the condition of the room just told me it will be another $35 to upgrade to a better room. The new building & rooms were very nice. Only recommend the deluxe room to your customers. I wouldn't even pay $1 to stay in those other old rooms. Very disappointed.” Aug 13, 2007 by
Delano from Miami, FL
“Convenient location and ample parking. The amenities were good. There was a $3.50 per diem hotel charge which did nor commensurate with the type of services. These services are standard in other areas.” Aug 12, 2007 by
Heather from Brandon, FL
“Room was old with stains on the carpet and a nasty odor to room with beds that you lay on and feel springs every where. Ask to see 3 other rooms and all of them where the same. Was very unhappy with hotel.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Loriann from Jacksonville, FL
“I stayed at this hotel for two nights and it was excellent. The quality of the room, the price of the room and the friendliness of the staff made this a great experience.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Kenneth from Marco Island, FL
“The hotel is dirty. The first room I went to the key did not work, so I had to walk to the lobby in the rain for a second key. This second key did not work so I went back to the lobby in the rain to get a new key, but the hotel decided to change me to a new room. I went to the new room and the key did not work. I went back to the lobby again for a new key. This time the hotel sent someone to the room to see if the keys worked, this time the keys worked. This key problem took a little over 1hour to resolve At 11:30 p.m. I returned, from the parks, to the room and let by wife in. I went across the street for food. When I returned the key did not work. I went back to the lobby for a new key. This key did not work, so I had to wake my wife up to open the door. In the morning, the shower head did not work correctly. To call this a 2.5 star resort is a joke.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Phyllis from St Petersburg, FL
“I've stayed at many hotels in the area. It was as good or better than any with the same rating.” Aug 1, 2007 by
Scott from Tipp City, OH
“Hotel was older and in need of some repairs was ok but not what I expected. Charged me an additional 10.50 for a resort fee.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Terry from Huntsville, AL
“The lobby and pool was nice but the room smelled like urine, there was body hair on the bathroom floor, the air was broken and it was over 80 in the room, and to make our night complete there were roaches running across the floor.” Jul 30, 2007 by
Terrie from Green Cove Springs, FL
“This was an ok hotel. When we go to Orlando, we know that we are not going to spend much time in the room, so this was ok.” Jul 28, 2007 by
Dick from Williamsville, NY
“As it shares the driveway with the ymca, it almost seemed to be a part of the YMCA.” Jul 26, 2007 by
Carrie from Jacksonville, FL
“I recently stayed at this hotel. This hotel is by no means a 3 star it is lucky to be 1 star. The carpet in our room was so filthy that my 18 month old child was forced to keep on socks or shoes the entire stay. We started the beginning of the week with towels, hand towels and wash cloths by day 2 we had to call front desk for wash cloths. They decided not to give toilet tissue on a daily basis we had to call the front desk for that as well. The pool was nice but the water was too warm. The pool steps needed to be cleaned to remove the slime. The rooms are no more than a regular low price hotel although the newer side to the hotel is supposes to be nicer you have to pay an additional $35 a night to upgrade. And there is a $3.50 a night resort fee. Once you get to the hotel you must pay that and also put a $25.00 deposit down for incidental charges. If you use cash you get it back at the end of your trip, if you use a debit card it can take up to 30 days to get your $25.00 deposit back so the lady said at check in. I would not choose this hotel as somewhere to stay in the future. In the mornings the carts for the cleaning crew actually sound like the building is falling down as they roll across the concrete outside. Our keycard quit working in the middle of our stay. But so did half our building. The bathtub was nasty if had scum buildup. I recommend anyone looking at this hotel to think about the Redroof inn or days inn first they are cleaner.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Jason from St. Petersburg, FL
“We did not want to stay in the room. It was filthy, old, the beds were literally sagging to the ground, and the door frames in the bathroom were rotting away. This room should be available only at star level 1. It was no where near a 2 and 1/2 star. I could not be more displeased. We would have left and gone home but we were at the theme park all day and didn't get to the room until midnight, and we were just too exhausted.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Victor from Miami, FL
“Worst hotel the I ever stay in my whole life” Jul 23, 2007 by
Michael from Jacksonville, FL
“New name, same place. Not much has changed, except a new "Resort Fee" added to your bill. Still the same hotel as before. Outer walkways could be updated. Nothing special, just a place to lay your head for the night.” Jul 21, 2007 by
Teresa from Wellington, FL
“If we put a do not disturb sign why in the world would the cleaning lady call and wake us up? They also charged a recreation fee and I understood everything was included.” Jul 21, 2007 by
Doug from Vancouver, WA
“I was incredibly disappointed! What a dive. This hotel is very tired. To call this place a resort is to call an AMC Gremlin a luxury sedan.” Jul 21, 2007 by
Larry from Colorado Springs, CO
“We just needed a place to sleep before continuing our trip. The room was comfortable, clean and quite. Perfect for what we needed. Did have a hard time finding the place.” Jul 20, 2007 by
Carrie from Jensen Beach, FL
“Upon arrival at the building the standard rooms were in was disheveled, the lights were falling off the wall. We asked the hotel clerk, if the rooms looked as bad as the outside? She did not answer, but said we could upgrade for an additional 30 dollars. We did, of course. The deluxe rooms were nicely remodeled, with very comfortable beds. We would not stay in the standard rooms at this hotel.” Jul 20, 2007 by
Ronnie from Mobile, AL
“Ok for family on vacation but not for business travelers.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Haydee from New Milford, NJ
“The rooms had water all over the floor, no ice machines worked, hotel was dirty, and we switched rooms after having fight to another dirty smelly room with more water on the floor. Elevators didn't work. Many other hotel guests were very disappointed as well. I would never ever stay there again.” Hotel Representatives:
