• Very clean remodeled rooms, comfortable bed.
• Treadmill broken, breakfast area too crowded with people.

“Very clean, newly remodeled room with comfortable bed. Nice pool with ping pong table and shaded porch. Fitness room, machine was broken. The breakfast area was very crowded, people waiting in line for food.”

• Great pool, completely renovated facilities, beautiful rooms, close to Sanibel Island.
• Crowded breakfast area.

“Hotel facilities looked brand new and modern, great salt-water pool and spa, spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms. Located very close to Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, but a little out of the way of Downtown Fort Myers. We had to drive a bit to find places to eat.”

• The staff was awesome! The pool was gorgeous and the breakfast was super!
• I liked everything about this hotel. My stay was excellent.

“The hotel staff went out of their way from the moment of our arrival to ensure that we had everything we needed. It was our first time in Ft. Myers and they gave us helpful information about what was going on and how to get there. Everyone was so friendly. The hotel was neat, well-decorated and well maintained. I can't say enough about the excellent way we were treated at this hotel. I've traveled a lot and this hotel stands out as one of the better values and travel experiences I've had. I'll definitely use them again and recommend them.”

• In a room with a king size bed they put in a couch where other bed might be so it seems like more than just a bedroom.
• No complaints.

“This hotel is very user friendly, the staff is quite responsive to requests. They had put us in a room on the outside of the hotel and I requested a court yard room which they did automatically not making me feel like I was asking for a special favor. The interior decoration of the hotel rooms makes you feel good. It is bright, well decorated and clean. Their continental breakfast is excellent including plenty of fresh fruits and baked goods.”

• There wasn't enough food at the breakfast and they allowed smoking by the pool.

• Very pretty on the outside, nice sized pool and sunbathing area, very nice continental breakfast, pretty comfortable room, good location.
• Security lock on door had been broken and not fixed.

“We were very impressed with this hotel. We were able to park near our door, the room was pretty and very comfortable. The pool was quite large with a nice hot tub and sunbathing area. The complimentary continental breakfast was very generous with plenty of seating available. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• Room was not cleaned daily very well.

“Good choice. Only complaint was that the room was not cleaned completely each day. Example was the coffee maker was not emptied and restocked.”

• Everything you would expect and more! We'd stay again!
• There wasn't anything we didn't like, all was wonderful.

“We stay at hotels 10 months out of 12. We have done this for 20 plus years and have seen the very best and unfortunately the worst hotels. This La Quinta was the nicest 2 star hotel we have ever stayed at. It should have been rated 2 1/2 stars! The rooms, lobby, pool area and breakfast, lounge, screened in porch, etc. Were all wonderful. Service was top rate. We hope to stay again in the future. Great location.”

• Room was neat and clean and was reasonably decorated.
• Pillows were too hard.

“Some what off the main track, but worth the extra miles to get there. Staff was very friendly, pool and hot tub were very nice. Hotel is located near a beach if you have the time to take advantage of this. Not very close to restaurants, or other attractions.”

“Overall, this was the best 2 to 2.5 star hotel I have ever stayed at. The location is convenient to Sanibel and Captiva. The room was remodeled, new, fresh, and clean. The free breakfast buffet was good and more than adequate. The pool and hot tub were clean and attractive.”

“Location is very convenient to Sanibel Island without paying the exorbitant prices on the island. Undergoing a renovation. All new furniture in rooms and common areas. Excellent, large swimming pool. Good, complimentary breakfast.”

• Beautifully renovated hotel in excellent Ft. Meyers location close to harbor and islands and shopping.
• We were directed to a very high priced restaurant by the desk clerk when we just wanted a quick dinner.

“One of La Quinta's best hotels in a beautiful Florida location. The breakfast was wonderful, room was decorated in tropical colors, and staff was cheerful and attentive.”

• Very clean, nice pool area, cocktail lounge pool-side which was a surprise.
• Really nothing.

“This hotel is within a mile of the Sanibel island causeway, a short drive to ft Myers beach and there is a small uncrowned public beach within a minute's drive. In short this hotel could be a vacation base it is very near water-based attractions. The entire facility has been renovated recently, is very clean and user-friendly, there is a small lounge with very reasonable prices; you can have drinks at the nicely landscaped pool area. Shopping is minutes away as well. A true bargain even at regular prices. Rooms are both out-facing and courtyard; despite the closeness of the road even the out-facing rooms are surprisingly quiet.”

• Had to get 3 remotes before they gave me one that worked and the key system to get into room was broken and the walls are very thin.

“Hotel is nicely decorated. The walls are very thin though and we could hear the entire conversation of the people in the room next to ours. The staff is friendly and helpful.”

• The wireless internet did not work in my room, it did work in the hotel lobby.

“It was what I wanted for the price, except for the non internet in my room. I needed the internet for personal and work related business and since the internet was not working in my room I was unable to complete it then I had to wait till the next hotel I stayed in. There is no reason internet should just "stop working" and if this is the case something should be done about it.”

• Large Bathroom, quality bedding, great warm pool, large TV.
• 1 employee ran the front desk, bartended, took calls and did house keeping.

“Beautiful Hotel, not enough employees to tend to guests needs. Remodeling crew was working all Sunday through the evening. The crew was drinking beer and playing loud music in the parking lot. The room and pool made up for the lack of management. Laundry facility was dirty and out of Soap in vending.”

• Nice big pool and spa, newly renovated rooms.
• We had no towels in room and were not able to get any until next day after 4:00 hotel booked out.

“Hotel was a nice looking hotel for the star rating, close to the beaches, but. hotel was booked and they couldnt keep up with the capacity not enough employees for the size of the hotel, first of all ,the room had no towels in the room when we arrived, then when we went swimming there were no towels in the pool area, when I asked for towels she said she was out of towels and we would have to check back in the morning we went swimming anyway and dripped dry then slept with chlorine smell, I tried to get towels in the morning at 10:00 and they gave us 1 hand towel said that was all they could spare for now. I asked if there was anything else so we could at least take a shower, they gave us 2 more hand towels, we bought our own towels later. Also way too busy in the breakfast area. Messy and out of everything because no one was there to clean up. Housekeeping didnt come until 4:30 after we got back from the beach and we were told that she couldnt come back she would be going home.”

“I would stay here again. The location was great, close to beaches at Ft Myers, Sanibel, and Captive. The staff was anxious to help in any way and friendly. The continental breakfast was more than donuts and coffee (which I hate). Instead, there was real food. Only one complaint. I ran out of hot water in my shower.”

“The location is great if you want the option to visit either Sanibel or fort Myers beach without actually staying on those islands. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished, but this did not interfere with my enjoyment of the facility. The hotel should be much nicer when the work is finished.”

“Was not told hotel was under construction! Price on side of hotel was cheaper than what I paid. We called around and found another hotel not under construction and checked out of the La Quinta 2 hours after we checked in. Big waste of money.”

• The pool area and staff at front desk were very friendly.
• Loud partying in parking lot, drunken people. Maids did not make room if we weren't out by 9am. There was a spot of blood on my bed covers.

“This hotel tries hard and could be a very nice hotel. They need some upgrading of their rooms. Comforters and curtains, dressers and tables are very antiquated. My comforter had a spot of blood on it. The pool area is lovely but there are so many unscrupulous people hanging around that we didn't want to be outside. People were hanging out by their cars, by the trash can driving back and forth through the parking lot and obviously intoxicated. It was not safe. The maids would not make the room if we were not out by about 9am. They would hang towels on the door and that was it. Front desk was very friendly and helpful but they can only do so much. Management needs to get it together at this hotel. It is in a luxury area and near a beautiful outlet mall. It could be so much better.”

• Hotel was in a great area. Very close to beaches. Very happy with this hotel.
• Musty smell when we arrived in our room. But that was fixed with some room spray..

“We enjoyed our stay from the moment we entered the lobby. Everyone was so nice. The pool was great and we even enjoyed some ping pong after the all you can eat fish fry they had Friday night. We needed more pillows and towels and they brought them in a timely manner. The hotel is very convenient to Sanibel beaches. We were very happy with the best western.”

• Pool and hot tub were nice, restaurant or lounge people very friendly, front desk great, room was fine.
• I would like high speed Internet in each room had to rent a special room for it at higher cost.

“Overall hotel was nice, clean and employees all were very friendly. Pool was nice and offered drinks or snacks served to you. Location was ok depending on what you wanted. Not a lot of shopping, but close to Sanibel/Captiva. Lots of road construction going on, but it's all over Florida! Would recommend to friends.”

• Wi-fi only in lobby area and no desk or table to work on.

“This was a fun hotel. Gratuity charges of $11.60 on a less than $30 food charge and $11.78 on a less than $25 food and beverage charge. After calling attention to this and after a manager retrieving and finding the original slips the desk clerk removed the charges because no one from "management" was available. The process took half an hour at checkout and was a slight problem as we were trying to catch a plane. ”

• Room was clean and recently refurbished.
• Distance from elevator and stairs to some rooms could be too far.

“The hotel is in a great location for the islands and for South Fort Myers. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishing of all rooms and the finished product was quite comfortable. I had one meal at the on site restaurant Rio's which was well prepared and tasty. ”

• LOCATION ! ATMOSPHERE ! Minutes from both Sanibel and Fort Myer beaches. Huge pool ! Great Bartenders !
• last trip we had to request room trays be removed from outside walk way.

“Overall I absolutely love this hotel. It used to be the Radisson Inn Sanibel Gateway, but it is still the same hotel. I recommend this place to everyone who goes. My whole family has stayed here. It is close to the beaches,shopping . The pool area is secluded from the street and the hotel has a nice mediterranean feel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hope this helps you decide !”
