• Its proximity to Sanibel Island.
• The fact that they allow pets.

“We had some minor complaints: When we went to bed the first night, we discovered the fitted sheet on the bed was torn (shredded) in one spot. Also did not have a TV remote. We called the front desk and they promptly brought us new sheets and a remote. The only other complaint was that the tissue box was empty and they didn't replace it. Overall the hotel was great.”

“Clean on the outside. Room had bad odor-mildew smell and toilet did not flush. Got room spray, helped for a few minutes, but room stank all day and night. Would not recommend this motel to anyone.”

• The rooms were as nice as our 4 star hotel we stayed in the night before.
• Breakfast ended at 9am.

“I was pleasantly surprised how clean and new the hotel was. The beds were very comfy, best night sleep I had. Bathroom is new and modern. Poll area was well maintain and the pool is very large. Good access to highways and close to the beach area.”

• Pool was beautiful, the price we paid per night was excellent.
• We were given 4 bath towels and 1 wash cloth for both of us.

“Nice location. Clean and neat. Staff was friendly. Located close to beach and shopping. An excellent reasonably priced restaurant was within walking distance if you dared. The pool was absolutely big and clean. Pool area and flore could have been better kept, but overall, yes, I would stay there again.”

• Hotel was quiet, very clean, and accommodating.

“I would stay at this hotel again. It was very convenient to the beaches, shops, and restaurants. Check in/out was fast and friendly. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable to sleep on. The only thing that the hotel needs to change is the tacky plastic chair in the corner they put in the room to use. Pool/spa area was clean.”

• Completely remodeled.
• Out of the way location.

“The room was clean and updated and appeared very nice, but it had an overwhelming smell of mildew. The office was told and they did spray and offered to move us to another room.”

• In our room, no TV control remote, never we couldn't find a towel pool.

“The staff never told us the breakfast time. We couldn't had a breakfast, on Monday labor day, the breakfast was until 9 am, was terrible. A group of person made a barbecue at pool all 3 days. That was terrible, I love the pets.”

• The key cards kept deactivating and that became a hassel.

• Its clean with a refrigerator and a microwave, its close to all the beaches, and free breakfast & parking.
• The full size beds are too small, need queen size beds.

“This hotel is close to the Fort-Myers Beaches, Sanibel/Captive Island. Its clean, update and has a refrigerator/microwave in the room. You get free breakfast and parking. The staff is friendly. I would defiantly stay at any La Quinta Inn Hotel if they all offer the same services as this one.”

• Everything was new. The room was big, clean and attractive.
• Continental breakfast was good, but limited. Fresh fruit and a greater variety of pastries would have been great.

“This place was a great place to stop and sleep at on our way to Sanibel. My daughter who is 9 thought the room was great because it was so big. My son who is 12, thought the table tennis was a great feature. My husband commented that the hotel was very nice.”

• Newly renovated rooms. Clean and sleek.
• Smoky rooms, college partiers everywhere, leak under sink and noisy refrigerator.

“If our personal room had been better, I would highly recommend this newly renovated La Quinta. The furniture is very nice. But, the sink in the bathroom leaked and the fridge made squeaky noises. They did have an evaluation sheet there, so I noted the problems. There were also lots of partiers there. But, it was cute and could be fun if a little better care were taken.”

• Good price and good location to Ft Myers Beach and Sanibel/Captiva.
• Breakfast is offered but they again ran out of yoghurt, fruit, bagels, toast.

“If this La Quinta wants to be a 10 (their slogan) then they really need to concentrate on their breakfast. This was the second visit within two months, and again by 09:00/09.15 am there is no more yoghurt, muffins or fruit (breakfast is until 10:00 am). Nobody tends to the breakfast room although it is packed with (hungry) guests. They take the coffee pots away a little before 10:00 am, but it really does not matter since the pots are empty 20 minutes earlier, anyway. They should just not offer the breakfast and perhaps offer discount coupons for the restaurant next door. Rooms are nice, staff is friendly, location is good (near Ft. Myers Beach and Sanibel/Captiva) but nothing within walking-distance. Very reasonable price. Nice pool, hot tub and gym.”

• Pool and Ping-pong area are child-friendly, clean, and inviting!
• Breakfast arrangement-crowded, ran out of food, not enough appliances (toasters, micros, waffle makers) to share. Rudeness in the morning!

“We enjoy it here immensely! Staff is awesome, room is acceptable, and pool is just gorgeous! A great place for families, because beach and shopping are easily accessible.”

• Front desk lady helped trying to get us into a different room and apologized for the inconvenience on our stay.
• Dirty, no towels, pool not clean.

“This was a nice remodeled hotel. The pool had poop in the pool. I asked for towels and I never received towels. When I checked in they put me in a room that was already occupied and I had went back to customer service to get me another room.”

• The room was absolutely spotless, it is the cleanest hotel I ever stayed in.
• I cant think of anything I didnt like.

“I felt the Hotel was perfect for what I wanted it for, I live locally and just wanted to get away for the weekend and enjoy some of the things on the beach. As it turned out my girlfriend and I spent most of the day Saturday at the hotel pool, which wasnt even crowded, The girl at the front desk and in the lounge were very nice and accommodating. I had a very nice stay.”

• The staff was incredibly friendly and professional.
• Pool towels were not regularly stocked, but when notified staff replaced immediately.

“What a pleasant surprise this stay was. The hotel was newly renovated, and it was neat and clean. The size of the room was great for the value, especially since my brother and I are well over six feet each. The continental breakfast was pretty good; the food was fresh and the waffle station was awesome. The staff was the most pleasant surprise about the stay. They were informative, friendly and went out of their way to help you. My next visit to Ft. Myers I will definitely stay at the LaQuinta Inn.”

“The location is great, as it's convenient to Sanibel and far cheaper than Sanibel accommodations. Front desk staff was great. The pool was great. The buffet and buffet staff was less than desirable. We would have probably really liked this hotel if we had asked for a room that wasn't right next to the pool. It was fine during the week, but got very noisy and busy during the weekend. All in all, a great value and a nice enough hotel.”

“Not the Hilton, but this hotel is clean and conveniently located between Ft. Meyers Beach and Sanibel Island. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is great. Non-smoking really is non-smoking. We saw a lot of families taking advantage of the pool and hot tub, but we were so busy, we missed out! No computer, but wireless. God Bless!”

• I liked the newly renovated rooms and towels/linens. Free breakfast was good.
• Could use some fresh fruit or jams/jelly in the breakfast buffet. Nothing w/in walking distance.

“The extended full breakfasts for beachgoers were nice. Rooms were smartly decorated with spacious baths. Comfortable king bed. Microwave and fridge. Proximity to Sanibel Island can't be beat (other than being ON it)! Grocery store and outlet mall super close. Large heated pool and Jacuzzi in Courtyard setting.”

• The breakfast exceeded expectations.
• The internet was not working in the rooms and it made it difficult to conduct needed business.

“Overall the hotel was not too bad. The staff was not the friendliest. The hotel did not regularly replace needed amenity items such as shampoo and toilet paper. They also did not have hypo-allergenic pillows available. They only had feather pillows. This was a business trip, but I was also traveling with family.”

• The hotel was very nice and clean.
• The cleaning ladies entered our room before check out, she threw away our food that was in our refrigerator.

“The hotel itself was very nice but I did not like when the cleaning lady entered our room before check out and threw out food that we had bought and stored in the fridge. We felt as though the desk clerk was brushing us off and we also witnessed another cleaning lady taking alcohol from another room and putting it in her own car. This put a damper on our stay but other than that everything else was nice.”

• The Continental breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day.
• The shower stalls were very awkward, narrow and no place to secure the soap or shampoo bottles.

“The La Quinta Hotel and Inn has a wonderful scenic poolside area and we were fortunate that our room overlooked this area. The complimentary breakfast included country gravy with biscuits, fresh muffins and pastries and the ability to make your own waffles, fruits, cereals and hard boiled eggs. A wonderful way to start the day. The rooms were pleasantly decorated and the bathroom had plenty of counter space to dry out seashells. It was nice that there was a coffee maker in the room but coffee was always available in the hotel lobby. The location is great since it is about 3 miles from the Sanibel Island bridge and about 7-8 miles from Ft. Myers Beach. There is a beach just about a mile down from the hotel. It is very shallow with plenty of oyster shells but with a spectacular view of sunsets over the Sanibel Island Bridge. We had a very nice stay!”

• 3-15-08 given a handicap room, which was not handicap friendly.

“The hotel was very nice, good pool area, and fine, courteous personnel. The rooms were clean, but needed better chairs for relaxing. The vending areas could be improved for after-hours snacking.”

• Fun, modern new decor, excellent location for visiting Sanibel without paying for Sanibel.
• Dog or animal smell on couch!

“The hotel is decorated in a modern, fun decor. There is a bar in the lobby and a nice pool outside. There are outside hallways. Our first room smelled terrible. Upon "sniffing," we determined that the couch had a foul odor! Someone's pet had probably slept there! We asked for a different room and were satisfied with the second room. They suggested not getting a first floor room, as people with pets usually request those. The breakfast was average for this type of hotel.”

“Hotel facilities looked brand new and modern, great salt-water pool and spa, spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms. Located very close to Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach, but a little out of the way of Downtown Fort Myers. We had to drive a bit to find places to eat.”
