“The hotel was a little worn but seems typical of the level of hotel in Tahoe. Overall room was clean and area was very quiet. Very close to the casinos and main part of South Shore.”

• Next to the beach.
• Bad curtains, no air circulation.

“This hotel would be a great destination for college students on a budget who don't have very discerning tastes. The pool was infested with floating dead insects. The room we were in had no air circulation and the curtains did not block out the light.”

• It was larger than I thought it would be. Kitchen included.
• A bit run down, not as elegant as the website pictures.

“Traveled alone and only to sleep. Was pleasantly surprised by the rather larger, studio apartment layout of the room. Room was tidy but in need of some upgrades. Patio door was open when I checked in. Specs of what appeared to be blood splatter was on magazines and wall, dirty shoeprint on carpet by patio door, spiders on ceiling (I have arachnophobia). No lie, room was a little creepy and hard for me to fall asleep after seeing this but made it through the night. I don't think I would go there again, not by myself at least.”

• Proximity to the Lake and it's views.
• Slightly run down/outdated.

“Clean but outdated. Needs some repairs/improvements. The staff was very friendly. I loved the view I had of Lake Tahoe. I would recommend the hotel to friends if they were able to get a lakeview room.”

• Clean.
• Shabby furnishings, tears and cut in sofa, stained bedspread, disintegrating lampshade, broken fan handle, existing balcony blockaded.

“Our room was definitely 1 star, clean but shabby. The furnishings were worn and deteriorating, the staff pleasant, the continental breakfast generous but in a tiny stuffy room. The view was from the balcony which was barricaded-either unsafe or under construction. They shouldn't have sold the room to anyone.”

• Location! Just across a small road to the beach.
• pool towels were thin and the size of a dish towel

“This hotel has some rooms that look right out on the beach and the sunset (but not all rooms). The kitchens in the rooms with kitchens are adequately supplied. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When we ran the jets in the hotel's hot tub the air got strong with chemicals, but without the jets it was fine. They should spend the extra money for good pool towels! Continental breakfast is typical bad pastries, defrosted bread and instant oatmeal. We prepared our own.”

• It was close to the Beach.
• Terrible customer service - no towels one day.

“Negatives: The hotel looks and feels like it is 30 - 40 years old. The room balconies on the 3rd floors, could not be accessed as they have been condemned by the local building inspectors. Also, the building exterior and especially room interiors are very well worn, with no air conditioning, inadequate parking, no micro-wave nor refrigerator in the rooms. Also, the intranet was out about 90% of the time, so we were forced to travel to Starbucks for access. Additionally, the level of cigarette smoke in the lobby at all times was so heavy, it was difficult to breath. After arriving back from the beach, we found that there were no fresh towels placed in our room, and had to wait until the next day at 10 am for new towels. Also the fee breakfast is pretty minimal, and on our first day, there were no Coffee cups, so we just went out to a local restaurant for breakfast. Positive: The Motel is across from a private beach, and our room offered good views of Lake Tahoe. I would not stay here again, and would recommend that travelers look for another hotel at the same price range.”

• The location being right at the lake.
• The rooms were very modest and the bed was not the most comfortable.

“We were pleased the front desk gave us a lake view room. Although the room itself was modest the view of the lake from the balcony was 5-star. All the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. We will return if we can be assured of another lakefront view.”

• The view was all they had to offer.
• Everything was falling apart and not well kept. Dirty!

“The shower head was broken, they never came to fix it. Pictures were taken off the walls and you could see the brown outline of where it had been. The room was dirty, dingy and smelled. The, continental
breakfast consisted of mini bagels that had turned into croûtons.
No juice. No milk for the bran flakes that was offered.”

• We had the most wonderful view of Lake Tahoe right from our room. The lake was clear and beautiful.

“Right on the State line of Cal.Nev. great waterfront views. I highly recommend for family or romantic getaway.”

• The view was lovely.
• Lobby smelled like smoke, room was not very clean (needed vacuuming).

“Although the view and location were excellent, paint was peeling in the bathroom and colors of the walls were unappealing. Room was not very clean (needed vacuuming and scrubbing); also there were very wet magazines on the table (looked like someone had spilled and no one noticed to throw away magazines) or up-to-date (furniture was very old).”

• A little noisy from above & old towels & amenities Noisy pipes!

“Lived up to expectations. Could use some updating particularly in heating & plumbing systems. The staff was friendly & the rooms have nice views & are spacious.”

• It was right on the lake and had a private beach.
• Old. Dirty. Though the windows could open, they were bolted shut. No air conditioning.

“This is a smaller hotel-only 3 storey. Although the room had a balcony, it was closed off and the slider door bolted shut. There was a secondary window with no screen on it so it too was bolted shut. There was no air-conditioning in the rooms. We were provided with two floor fans, but only one worked. The staff was cordial but not overly friendly and seemed to be put out when you asked them a question. On the upside, the hotel is right on the lake and only 5 miles from the Tahoe strip.”

• This hotel was in a great location, right next to the lake. Good quality for the price.
• The hotel room was old and a little outdated, but clean.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone who isn't looking for something really nice. The hotel is right on the lake and visitors get a private beach pass. The room had a nice patio and was big. The service was very good. However, though the room was clean it was kind of old and outdated. The free continental breakfast wasn't good, so eat somewhere else. Overall, we had a nice stay. We were only passing through, so it was perfect for us.”

• Good location near beach, lake and casinos.

“Staff very unhelpful. Asked 2 rooms with king size beds with lake view, but 2 rooms were only available with queen beds with no lake view. Continental breakfast awful. One room had a blocked toilet that was not usable and was not fixed during the stay. Only good thing about this hotel was the location. Will not stay there again and will not recommend to others.”

“I loved the location the People were friendly the rooms were VERY dated. Paint pealing off wall by windows uncomfortable beds. It was a good sized room with Kitchen and dining area. But just needs a little updating.”

• Rooms were not well insulated from adjacent rooms.

“The location could not be beat for S. Lake Tahoe area. We enjoyed the pool and the beach and the view from our room. Free parking and continental breakfast were appreciated. A small negative: It took 4 requests before the staff brought up a much needed roll away bed. Though I must admit, this bed was comfortable.”

“You can't beat the location of this hotel or the view from the spacious balcony. However, this is a older hotel that seriously needs renovation. With all that said; we would stay there again.”

“My friend and I just visited this place over the fourth of July weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were given a great room with a balcony and a view overlooking Lake Tahoe. The room was clean and comfortable with a dining area, kitchen and a seating area.”

• It was in a beautiful location!
• The hotel was older and a little run down.

“This hotel in set in the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Our patio was literally across from the lake. Our patio over looked the lake and it was breath taking to sit with our coffee and take it all in. I would have liked a newer hotel but this was perfect for the 2 days!”

• Located 10 paces from Lake Tahoe.
• The breakfast could be bigger (skiing burns calories!)

“Easy to find when you have realized the slight difference between the main strip and the lake road. Typical 'boxy' buildings and rooms, but they fit the purpose and would make for an ideal destination during the summer months because they have balconies and are located by the lake.”

• It was very convenient and clean and inexpensive for our ski trip with 3 teenagers.
• The section we were in was a little far away from the amenities such as the spa.

“The main part of the hotel is lovely and very near the beach during summer. We were in an annex that was older but fine for our skiing group.”
