• Close to Santa Monica Pier, shopping, etc.
• Noisy room next to an elevator - no free Wi-Fi in hotel.

“Decent, corporate style hotel, good location, the room I had was noisy because it was next to an elevator. Parking is expensive and there aren't many cheaper options close by. Wi-Fi was free in the lobby, but $11 a day in the room.”

• Rooms carpet too old. AC was very noisy and did not work properly, parking charges $30 a night.you can park on the street, but they dont tell you that.

“At the time of parking they told us there are no self parking available, and have no close by street parking. They wanted to charge $30 a night for parking. I did not believe their words and found parking right next street. The person front office girl was not friendly. Hardly even smiled. The hotel lobby is attractive. But the carpet in rooms and hallway very old. Very narrow stuffy hallways. Overall is was okay. But will probably not go back there again.”

• Well appointed lobby and bar area, gave the hotel a higher class level.
• Too far from the center of the town.

“Although the hotel was a 20 minute walk out of town it was just a five minutes walk from the beach. The lobby and bar area were well decorated and maintained, and although we didn't use the upstairs restaurant it looked well the visit and the menu was great for a hotel of this nature, the guests pool was also a nice area.”

• Everything, they even had a dish of fruit with a knife for us when we returned. And we enjoyed having 2 beautiful wine glasses and orchids in our room.
• Having to pay $27 for parking.

“A very chic but friendly hotel, with a beautiful, inviting and comfortable lobby. The veranda in our room was huge, too bad it was on a busy street.”

“Our stay was only one night and we did not take advantage of the pool or restaurants. The room was quite small as compared to other hotels but was clean. The area seemed safe.”

• The inside decor was nice and the pool area was nice.
• The location was little shady, you had to pay 30 a night for valet.

“This was the worst hotel I have stayed at in a long time. Room was dirty (stained carpet, trash under desk), halls and elevator smelled bad. I had dinner at the hotel and ordered a Turkey wrap. I assumed there was supposed to actually be Turkey in the wrap but could not find it. If you like lettuce, order the Turkey wrap!”

• The stylish decor.
• It was super dark. The bathroom light wouldn't turn off. Location.

“The parking was expensive at $30.80 which is odd for it being off the beaten path and across a high school. The bathroom light wouldn't turn off and we told staff but the next night still didn't fix it. It affected my sleep. The shuttle to the promenade was nice. The lobby was super dark.”

• The style and decoration. The outside patio.
• The room was tiny and the window was blocked by a wall outside.

“My boyfriend and I arrived and were told that self parking was full and we had to valet park. The cost of valet parking was $28.00 per day! Room was tiny, with 2 people you barely had enough room to walk around in it. The view from the window was terrible. There was a wall that basically covered 70% of the window. It was clean and cute though. For one night it was ok. When we checked in we were told that the bar closes at 1:00 pm. The bar staff was super friendly. My friends and I returned from the night at town for a nightcap to the bar at 1:00 am and stayed until 2:00 am. The bartender was great and not once told us we had to leave. We also were the only people in the bar. The hotel staff was overall very friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great experience.”

“Arrived late to a welcoming staff and help with bags. Very nice lobby, low lighting, cosmo decor, nice lobby bar serves food until midnight. Rooms were nice and comfortable.”

• Staff. Helped us book and plan our whole weekend. Friendly.
• Location is nice but a tad off the main beat. Nice for quiet travelers.

“Great hotel. Great fitness room. Very nice lobby. Great concierge staff. Location is not ideal for people who want to enjoy the nightlife but its perfect for people who want to enjoy a great view (ocean view rooms) and have a quiet time.”

• The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. Rooms are clean!
• Not enough Self Parking and Valet Parking is way too expensive, there's alot of free street parking nearby

“If your room is near the elevator its much easier because the rooms at the end of the wing are a far walk. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby is fantastic, only if the lobby lighting wasn't as dim.”

• Room was spacious and attractive!
• The room didn't get a lot of sunlight, it was kind of dark to me and I could hear a lot of traffic noise from my room.

“Overall the hotel was very attractive inside and out. The view from my room was beautiful. I was able to see the beach and nearby cities from the 7th floor. It's located near the beach and shopping plaza. It was a nice experience.”

• Lobby decor was terrific and walking distance from ocean and 3rd St Promenade.
• Can't say one bad thing. Ok, the parking is expensive.

“We had a marvelous time, checked in at 3am and someone was there to help us. Lobby and amenities were beautiful. They had a crib waiting in our room. Excellent experience!”

“Too much money for the quality room. Watch out regarding the parking situation. There is free self-parking, but the valets will tell you. There is only valet parking at $28/day.”

• Walking distance to the beach.
• Cramped room. Virtually no self-parking.

“We stayed at the Double Tree on our previous trip and had a much better experience there. After two nights in a cramped room at the Sheraton, we were notified that there would be a loud party in the penthouse above us for the third and final night of our stay. We were forced to choose between changing rooms for our last night or dealing with the party noise. We could not accept the noise, so we changed rooms. It would have been much better to have been given a room away from the party from the start instead of having to repack everything to change rooms on the busiest day of our trip.”

• Good security, responsive to requests for assistance or information, prompt valet service.
• Could hear people talking in next room.

“This hotel was comfortable, clean, and stylish. They provided ample towels by the pool and the exercise room was one of the best I've seen in a hotel in terms of space and selection of equipment. They supplied lots of towels and water. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. There are a few self park spaces; otherwise the fee for parking at the hotel adds another $30 a night or so. Public transportation is readily available and the hotel is within walking distance of many Santa Monica venues.”

• The hotel concierge was fabulous! She booked a great steak restaurant on a busy weekend on the spot.
• Check in desk clerk was unfriendly, borderline rude. Garden view room was actually a view of the arts next to doors pool.

“The room was not a part of the main hotel, rather down a narrow hallway with multiple turns. The main hotel was very nice, including the bar, restaurant, pool and main entrance. Would stay again, but would request a room in the main hotel. Hotel staff was extremely helpful.”

• The bed was beautiful and comfortable. The pool was private and beautiful.
• The price for over night parking was way too high.

“Rooms are way too small. Our balcony was a joke, basically one person can only stand out there and our view was an apartment building that was way to close. People could totally look into our room so we had to keep curtain closed at all times and so that made for super dark. Not impressed at all.”

• Smoking in pool area; in general, staff were poorly trained and inefficient.

“Good: location, appearance of room/facilities. Bad: Smoking in pool area (terrible. especially since this is a close/tight area. and where breakfast is eaten as well!), scented candles in lobby were unbearable (unscented please. The days of needing to mask foul odors are long over with today's cleaning advances), no bathroom fan, one bartender was not familiar with proper composition of mixed drinks, no free internet in room, staff were inefficient and not tuned to basic service principles, rooms facing Pico Street are very loud at most hours (with the sliding glass door open. it's fine when shut).”

• Fairly close to the beaches and Downtown Santa Monica.
• Room was only 1 of a few with obstructed view and no balcony.

“Hotel is nice with a decent small pool and an exercise room that we used a couple times. Decent equipment for a hotel gym. We were a bit disappointed with our room in that it was one of a few with obstructed view (diagonal pillar through the window) and did not have a balcony like most of the rooms had. Room was clean and staff were helpful. Pretty short walk (5 blocks) to the beach and not much further to get to Downtown SM.”

“Exceeded my expectations. The room was beautiful and clean without smelling like chemicals. The sliding door opened for fresh air. The beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom tile was a bit worn, but clean. The front desk staff was friendly. The parking attendants were fast, friendly and efficient, 5 stars. Will stay there again!”

“I have stayed in many a hotel in my day. This Hotel has a very "Chic Boutique" vibe going on. The staff was so amazing and accommodating. The rooms were clean and modern. The gym was well appointed, the pool area very relaxing, and it was in a good location to navigate to other areas in southern, CA. I would love to stay there again, and would totally recommend this Great Hotel to Family & Friends.”

• Irene the concierge is the best.
• The room was awful. The bed, the view, everything!

“I will start on a positive note. Irene at the concierge desk is wonderful. Could not have asked for more. However, the room was awful. It was a handicapped room, with a very uncomfortable bed, and no room to move around. More room in the bathroom then the bedroom. It smelled of mold, and I believe this may have led to my present Illness. I will see what the doctor says later. I have stayed here several times, and never saw a room quite like this. The view also faced an apartment building where you could see everything they were doing in their apartments. I am glad I did not have any children with me. My employees however, received a much nicer room. Go figure, and they are not ill.”
