- Magnificent location, historical significance was mind blowing.
- My view was nonexistent.

- An old hotel feeling.

- Room view, also room felt a little cramped, but still nice.

- Artificial chocolate armona in registration area. Many people are allergic. Not good.
“This was a very nice little hotel. Excellent staff. The rooms were a little small and the bathroom sink was very poorly designed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The towels, although absorbent, were entirely too rough. We do not appreciate the extra charges for using their parking lot, or any other hotel's parking facilities.”

- The room took some time to warm up.
“The room was very modern and up to date. Very comfortable. We had to go to a small valet only parking lot (right near the entrance), once we unloaded our luggage, we had to park the car in a separate lot. The staff was very helpful in getting our luggage upstairs & getting us parked quickly.”

“If you are a business traveler in Downtown San Jose, skip the neighboring Fairmont and stay at Hotel Montgomery instead. I've stayed in both in the past few months, and the Montgomery gets my vote hands down.”

- Light rail noise when the window was open.
“This "Boutique" hotel is a first quality property. The downtown location is perfect and the property is very well maintained. The staff is very helpful and always ready to assist a guest. The hotel is only four stories high, so if you need a view, stay elsewhere.”

- This hotel is more equipped for the business traveler than any Marriott.
“From the time you check in to the time you check the customer service is implacable. The hotel industry could learn a lot from their customer service philosophy. Every tech gadget is available in the room. Their honor bar in room snacks selection is up to date and fresh.”

- Party going on in courtyard below room the first night, with band going until after 11pm. Limited room selection. Limited room service and hours.

- Excellent decor, prompt cautious staff, perfect for a business traveler.
- Restaurant food quality was fair, I ordered room service and the quality of food was not good.
“Excellent staff, very comfortable room and perfect for a business traveler, however the food from the hotel restaurant was lacking. The chef makes an effort however the taste needs improvement, harsh flavors that don't blend, crab cake was ok, average, but sauce tasted like it came out of a jar, the tomato soup was too spicy and the tomato base was bland, didn't blend well and the Mac-n-cheese side dish was "strange" cheese was too sharp and not smooth, macaroni was undercooked, hard had potential but needs refinement.”

- Very small room and bed; it was supposed to be queen, but seemed much smaller; smelled of moth balls.

- The staff was very friendly and helpful; the location is within a good morning walking distance from San Jose State University.
- Dribble shower; not the most comfortable mattress, but decent.
“This would be a great hotel for visiting family members of students at the University. Close to campus, etc. We were not connected with the University for our trip, but found it most enjoyable for our morning walk before leaving for the coast.”

- The decor was different and stylish. The bed was AWESOME!
- The towels were hard and the drain in the shower did not work very well.
“We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Montgomery. The hotel was stylish, clean and inviting. It was not your typical hotel room with a flowered bed spread. The hotel combined style w/ comfort. It was a refreshing change of pace as far as hotels go.”

- The staff was very attentive.
- The radio only carried certain stations. I was unable to get nor 88.5 or 91.1 my jazz station.
“This is a sweet little hotel very close to the jazz festival I attended. There were no major streets to cross. The small size was a delight in the crowded jazz festival atmosphere. I had a couple of drinks in the bar, which were lovely. A pomegranate/ginger infused vodka which was a delicious treat. The room had a lovely bathroom with wonderful aveda products: shampoo, lotion, and conditioner. The extra bar had wondrous products besides good fridge fare. They had a lint brush, a flask, several tempting gourmet chocolates, invisible cards, mojito mints and more. How did I escape without purchase? The privacy shade with another full shade was wonderful. The privacy shade allowed light and privacy. Along with heat and air I was delighted to still be able to open the window. It was great.”

- Small hotel, unique in its design and not part of the large chain.
- My room had no view - lower room looking out at concrete walls.
“Very nice hotel, clean with friendly staff. The location can't be beat - in the heart of San Jose.”
