• Best breakfast at a hotel!
• Pull-out sleeper was uncomfortable.

“Since it was a little off the path from I-5, I wasn't sure what to expect, although the pictures on the Website looked promising. I was pleasantly surprised as the hotel was very nice, the staff quite friendly, and there was coffee and tea available even though we arrived a little before midnight. The room was very spacious with everything a business traveler would want. The bed was large and looked inviting but was a bit hard and the pull-out sleeper was completely uncomfortable - better to put the couch cushions on the floor and sleep on them.”

• I wasn't impressed with the pool and no hot tub.

• Great free breakfast, free snack to go, very nice rooms.

“This hotel has everything I needed on my business trip. The free breakfasts save me both time and money. The free and healthy snack to go saved me when I wasn't able to stop for lunch. Decent restaurants walking distance away made dinner at the end of a long work day easy.”

• Nearly new, extremely spacious suite, made for unexpectedly comfortable stay.
• Spartan outfitted kitchen if you expect to do any cooking.

“From check in, to check out, we were surprised and delighted with this facility. We experienced very nice and accommodating staff. Easy to park, rooms (all suites) were quite new, clean and nice albeit not luxurious. Even though we needed to leave on a Sunday at 6:30 am, before the complimentary breakfast service began, we were each given a small carry bag with a can of juice, apple and cereal bar to go. We will seek out Staybridge Suites again because of this experience.”

• I loved the free breakfast buffet and the free laundry facilities!

“We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this hotel. We had a free breakfast buffet every morning and free laundry facility! With small kids this was great and I was very thrilled that I could catch up on laundry on my trip! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!”

• Parking was close by but the door to the outside
  and
  would not work with my electronic key so I had to walk around to gain entrance.

“Impressive hotel. Conveniently located for my purposes. However unless you need to do business in the immediate area the traffic to downtown or the beach can be challenging.”

• The breakfast buffet was great; the facilities in back were beautiful.
• The mattress was hard and neither of us slept soundly.

“Overall, a great hotel, with delicious breakfast bar, an unwind tennis/basketball/pool area in the back (with BBQs), and friendly staff. It as also quiet - very nice.”

• Excellent free breakfast buffet.
• Bed is okay.

“This is one of the best 3 star hotel out there. Free breakfast buffet with real breakfast food i.e. sausages, scramble eggs, fruits, waffles, gourment coffee, soda, etc. It also stays opens late (10:30am) on the weekend so that you can sleep in a little bit. Small but nice pool. Also, has a small basketball/tennis court. Room also has kitchenette (real nice). One more thing - free laundry.”

• Very roomy. Hot breakfast included. Great wheelchair accessibility.
• Pull out couch was not very comfortable.

“This was a 2 room suite with kitchen. We asked for wheelchair assessable room and it came with a huge bathroom with a roll in shower. A full hot breakfast was free which was great. The hotel was very clean.”

• The room needed thicker drapes to block the lights from the street and gas station that the window faced.

“Pleasant staff clean rooms, breakfast was nice, I would have like to have the sundown reception every night. We stayed on the weekend and it was only available one night of our stay.”

• Over flowing garbage cans both outdoors and in the lobby.

“I was amazed that breakfast on Thanksgiving morning was everything I associate with Staybridge - eggs, waffles, etc. Both Friday and Saturday were another story. No waffles on Friday morning although the menu in each room specifically said waffles were available. Saturday morning breakfast started at 7:30. At 7:45 there was no hot water for tea, no cold water, no decaffeinated coffee. Obviously no waffles but I did hear someone comment that the pancakes were hard enough to be used as Frisbees. Staffing and attention to guests was best on the day when I would have thought it would have been wanting. On Friday evening we noticed all the garbage cans outside the hotel were over-flowing. In the lobby/dining room the situation was the same. Someone had actually taken an overflowing bag out of the garbage can and it just sat there. When I went to breakfast Saturday at 7:45 it was still there. Not a pretty sight or smell. One of the nice things about the Staybridge Inns is the 24 hour access to tea and coffee in the lobby. Friday evening everything was empty. I know I could have made coffee in the room but it is really nice to just make one cup of coffee or one cup of tea and not have to throw the rest of it out. I spoke with a regular guest in the elevator and he told me he is a frequent guest brought there by business with QualComm. He also told me the hotel caters to their business guests so we might find things sparse when the business guests typically check out. How true those words were. The hotel itself is in a great location. The room was great and housekeeping did their job from day one and that never faltered. I have stayed at Staybridge Inns before so I have those stays to compare this one to. This was a disappointment. I would use Staybridge again but would probably not go back to this one because of the garbage situation.”

• My whole kitchen is with me.
• TV is in an awkward position. Need more towels & shampoo.

“It is very nice and convenience. All the shopping center is near by. You have the choice of dine out or cook your own meal in your suite. We really like the kitchen because we have two young children.”

• A little late in cleaning the room.

“Wonderful experience. Having a full breakfast available in the morning was very helpful and the on-site laundry facilities were an unexpected benefit. Full kitchen and in-room snacks were so thoughtful to the needs of a traveler. Location was very good and convenient to eateries and freeways.”

• Staff was very friendly.
• I nearly got someone else's charge applied to mine because desk was not paying attention.

“This hotel is very clean and quiet and the staff at the front desk are helpful and friendly. There are a good number of amenities for the price. It is not near any San Diego attractions, though. I returned after I checked out to retrieve an item I'd left behind, and was asked if a receipt/signature for someone else's charge (paper clipped to my receipt) was mine. It was a very obviously different signature, and am concerned that my credit card will be charged due to this oversight/mistake...”

• Rusty at the front desk was outstanding!
• Manager Wes was horribly rude; furniture in poor condition.

“Very uneven stay at the Stay bridge Suites in Sorrento Mesa. Staff was either incredibly kind and helpful (Rusty, breakfast staff) or horribly rude (Julie, manager Wes). The rooms are nice and well-appointed but the furniture was so uncomfortable as to be non-functional. Unacceptable for a 2.5* business/family hotel. The sofa was missing springs such that sitting on it made you fall all the way to the floor (no exaggeration). Love the breakfast buffet, pool, free parking, kitchen w/full refrigerator.”

“I called the hotel and they said it was a king bed with pull out sofa. That would have meet our needs. We ended up with a queen and a pull out sofa. They could upgrade us for additional money even though they said it was suppose to be a king bed. Overall the hotel was great and I would stay there again.”

• I always like a hotel that serves breakfast.
• The pool was noisy because of all the kids jumping and splashing.

“We enjoyed our stay at the hotel because it was clean, safe, and served breakfast. The location was ideal for our particular needs and very close to shopping and the freeways. There were lots of families with children which made the pool a bit noisy, but our room was nice and quiet.”

• A relative bargain in the San Diego area.
• A little distant from most tourist attractions.

“This was my second stay at this hotel and I can truthfully say that it is a pleasure to stay here. The convenience of an included hot breakfast is a rare treat in most hotels today. The free and fast Internet access makes it a plus for both business and pleasure travelers. For those who don't mind cooking, there is a microwave and large (for a hotel) refrigerator included in the room. Very nice indeed!”

• Walls too thin, could hear a spoon clinking in a bowl next door.

“The hotel is made with families in mind, kids were everywhere amping noise. The complimentary breakfast was being eaten up as soon as the serving plates were filled, and over half of the serving plates were not re-filled at all.”

• Beautiful new hotel with free buffet breakfast, next to a strip mall with a food court not to far from freeways.
• They gave us a smoking room and it stunk.

“This is a nice hotel, it is quiet and the had a full kitchen. The pool looked nice and they even have a basketball court. They cater to the corporations that are located a few miles away so most of their customers are professionals. The bed was comfortable and it had a pull out for the kids. The only negative was being stuck with a smoking room.”

“The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and cheery. My only concern was that they conducted housekeeping extremely early, especially for a weekend. I often hadn't even gotten my breakfast or shower and the maid was entering the room. Further, they gave me the room must subjected to noise from both the hotel lobby and the parking lot.”
