• The parklike setting.
• Coffee tray covered with dust, spider in coffee cup.

“My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at this beautiful hotel, especially for the price we paid. The room was large, huge king bed, and the park like setting with a nice pool was all one could hope for. Will come back here for sure!”

• The hotel staff was exceptional. They tried there best to accommodate our requests.

“The hotel is located in a great area of Bakersfield. Restaurants and stores our conveniently nearby. The grounds are scenic and beautifully kept. The swimming pool closes at 11pm allowing for a late night dip to unwind. The hotel has a resort feel, we were tempted to stay another night...I never saw Bakersfield as a vacation destination until I stayed at Sheraton, the service and stay was a real delight!”

• Location.
• Hotel room smelled like smoke. The bathroom was dirty.

“They gave me previously smoked in room although I requested non smoking but they would not change to a different room. The bath tub was not very clean, it had mold in the corners of the tub.”

• The grounds very nice.
• Little dirty in some areas.

“The hotel was nice. The two small children above me ran all night until about 1 am, then they got up at 7 am and left. But then our room was next to a meeting home which was another nightmare. If you don't need sleep, then this place is for you. Bathroom a little dirty & carpet.”

• Clean, efficient, & comfortable place to stay.

“The room is rather spacious, with a nice flat panel TV. It's clean, & spacious with simple modern decor. The bed was very comfortable. Generally, it's rather quiet, although on one occasion, I was disturbed by loud conversation outside my room. And when laying down on the bed, with my head next to the wall, I can hear the faint alarm clock, & phone rings, as phone conversation from the adjacent room.”

• Easy access to the Freeway and the nicest place in town.
• The staff at the restaurant in the morning, bad service.

“Everything was great except for the lack of service in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast. There was no one there to serve us for a half hour. However our dinner was really great and the service was perfect!”

• No continental breakfast.

“It was a very nice hotel and was one I would stay in again. It was clean, had free parking, had free Wi-Fi (a must now a days), and was great. I was slightly disappointed that it didn't have a free continental breakfast, but I knew that going in, so it is nothing to blame the hotel on. Otherwise, for everything that this hotel was and had, it was great.”

• Not new but excellent value, very good shape, good management.
• Nothing.

“This is an older premise but remodeled completely (not only the bathrooms) in 2006. Great pool and hot tub. For it was an advantage that the hotel was not at freeway exit but in quiet place! Would go back immediately!”

• The room furnishings were amazing. Lobby, pool, decor all first rate.
• Separate buildings. Need to walk outside to get to main lobby.

• I like the location of the hotel. It was clean and the decor was modern/the room was bigger than usual.
• Front desk staff seemed a little slow.

• Nice clean hotel with everything you need for travel or business.
• No elevators to second floor.

“Great for travelers stopping on there way to other destinations. Beautiful rooms with great TV, microwave and refrigerator. Comfortable beds and coffee maker. They even have complimentary bottled water. I used express check out on the TV and off I went.”

• Cheap, very poor quality for the price, ugly decor, cheap towels, shabby bathroom.

• The individual thermostats in the room. I controlled the temperature.
• Ice machine did not work, drink machine did not work, walls too thin, noisy neighbor.

“Although the staff was friendly and tried to help, I have trouble from the start, the did not try to accommodate me or sympathize my situation. I would not stay at that hotel again.”

• Pool water was murky. Beds not to comfortable.

“The location was great! The lobby was beautiful. The grounds fantastic as well as the pool area. The pool water needed attending. Don't stay on the bottom level. At 5 am we could hear everyone in the room above us for 2 hours. The beds can use some updating as well as new decor in the rooms. Other than that they were clean and somewhat comfortable. I would stay there again if they made some changes.”

• The bed was comfortable.
• The bathroom was so dirty that I didn't want to use the shower. You could stick to the dirt on the light switch.

• Rooms are spacious and outstanding.
• Unheated pool.

“We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Sequoia National Monument, and were very pleased. The large room with refrigerator was perfect. Good workout facility. 2 complaints. The pool was freezing cold at the end of May, and thus unusable. And the music from a Saturday wedding reception was really loud until after midnight.”

“I had higher expectation for this hotel, but got a little disappointed. The name Sheraton adds class, perhaps the name, By Sheraton, indicates a noche lower.”

• Rooms have been renovated with a very modern style, wide screen LCD TVs. Very nice pool area.
• Staff could be a little more friendly, but there was a wedding there, so they were very busy.
