“The Holiday Express was a very pleasant experience. The room was very attractive and accommodating. The warm continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise; the best continental breakfast we have ever had. We would definitely return.”

• The room was great, it was clean, it was a perfect location.
• There was nothing I didn't like.

“Freeway close, perfect to go to Arroyo Grand, or to Pismo. Fairly new, very clean, very nice large room, next door was a restaurant for dinner. They even included breakfast buffet.”

• Sink was leaking.

“I overall liked this hotel. The only problem I had was that at checkout the lady at the front counter asked me if I had slept well and I replied yes, then she told me I had gotten a noise complaint about me. I was alone in the room and did nothing so I don't think that was possible. I told her that and she just made a condescending remark and said I don't know. I just didnt appreciate that very much.”

• Late check-in.
• No service for broken toilet, broken curtains, and also A/C did not work.

“Poor service for a broken toilet, drapes were broken off the track and did not close, A/C did not work along with the heater. We called for extra blankets at night and took too long for service. Poor access to the building for example only one door opened for service into the hotel. Asked for non-smoking and dual beds and received smoking room with king bed.”

“The pool and hot tub were not working the entire four days and three nights that we were there. Hotel 2 miles from the beach. nice beds. Free breakfast.”

• Close to the beach, shopping and restaurants.
• The hot water in one sink was only lukewarm, while the other sink had no hot water at all. The pool was closed for repairs at the time of our stay.

• The jacuzzi was luke warm and jets did not work.

• They said it was non smoking & it was not. Our room smelled of smoke, the sink dripped loudly, the bathroom was not clean, their were tiles missing.

• Location turned out to be pretty good.
• Air conditioner leaked.

“Hotel room was big. Bed was nice and comfy. Nice to open up the door to balcony and be able to feel the nice cool breeze. Breakfast was great. Staff was very friendly.”

• Good location close to the freeway.
• My room, though it was nice smelled like smoke.

“Hotel was located close to the freeway which suited me being that I was on business. Close to town where you can get something to eat or have to do some shopping. The room was comfortable and adequate, it was clean. The parking lot is a bit dark at night.”

• A nicely appointed room, a real showerhead & complimentary breakfast.
• The ground level entry door was exit only, we had to go up to the second floor and take the elevator down to enter.

“Our overall experience at this hotel was quite positive. I would recommend it to anyone and would use it again myself.”

“This hotel had an excellent bar/grill next door with live music until 9:30pm. It has easy access to Pismo beach which was a short driving distance. Easy off/on to the freeway. Excellent staff to meet your needs.”

• Convenient to freeway.
• Too close to freeway. Overpriced for what it is.

“You can hear the freeway and the nearby restaurant/bar if you get a room on the north side. If you're just pit-stopping on your way somewhere else, not a bad choice. But better off staying closer to the beach if possible.”

• We liked the pool.
• While we were there, the spa was not working.

“This hotel met most of our needs. Because this hotel does not have elevators and the parking was not all that conducive to the rooms. I would not recommend this to people that have difficulties in getting from one floor to another using steps.”

• It was convenient.
• It was a little run down.

“This hotel was easy to get to and the staff was friendly and helpful but the carpet was wore down and the wallpaper needed to be fixed as it was peeling in some places. It was not as nice as the one I stayed at in Tehachipi.”

“My room was half underground and awkward to access from the parking area, Posted pool hours were poor. Said they close at 9:30, which is the time I get back to my room, also there was no parking when I returned. The restaurant closed at 9:30. I guess they roll up the sidewalks as well.”

• The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly.
• The hotel did not have a gym, was not near the beach and had quite a few loud guests.

“The hotel for the most part was fine, for a quick stop through. My room was clean, nice and kind of big, but part of the room was below ground so it did not allow for the greatest view. My friend that I was traveling with, complained of loud guests in the room next to her in the morning, and some of the towels in her room were frayed. The location is okay, just not a lot to walk to, but it is within driving distance of a great outlet mall and some excellent restaurants.”

• Jacuzzi not hot, no jets, hard to access.

“Very friendly staff upon arrival. Exceptional. Housekeeping staff person did not know where my room #130 was though, causing me to walk around a bit. Another staff person did not know that the ice machine on 2nd floor was out of order, causing me to walk down and then up another flight of stairs (which was really okay- I need the exercise!) But they (housekeeping staff) could have been more well-informed of their workplace. Coffee in the morning (complimentary continental) was very weak, but the continental breakfast offerings were great! Thank you for asking.”

• Every time floor above flushed toilet it sounded like a huge waterfall in our room and woke us up.

• Too expensive for the location - $220 a night for one person.

“The hotel room was nice and spacious, very clean, but for the price the hotel should have been near the ocean or a partial ocean view - its too expensive and for that reason I would not recommend it to anyone.”
