• The location was convenient
• I didn't like the set up of bathroom; sink outside bathroom

“I called hotel and was told we would have a room with 2 double beds. When we arrived, we were told we had a room with 1 double bed and no rooms were available with 2 double beds. After much discussion, we were given a room with a king bed and sofa bed.”

• The hotel was in a very convenient location.
• The rooms I was given were terrible.

“This hotel is convenient to Oakland and Berkeley. I had reserved two rooms, one for myself and one for my son and a friend. I was given two handicapped rooms each of which had one double bed. My son and his friend are both over six feet tall, and one double bed really does not work. We requested a cot for their room, and were told they were not available. The rooms were right behind the elevator shaft and vending machines and noisy. I got very little sleep, and my son and his friend were embarrassed and uncomfortable. Not my best experience.”

• The location was perfect for us.
• The sink counter was too small for 2 people.

“We were greeted by friendly desk staff. Our room was on an upper floor away from elevator hubbub. Housekeeping did a great job; the room was spotless every day. Free parking and WIFI. Business center if you don't have a computer with you. The location was perfect since we were visiting family in Berkeley and Oakland. The only negative was the size of the sink counter. With the coffee machine and the glasses, etc, there was very little room to keep our toiletries. We had to keep most of those things on the floor. The hotel was fabulous.”

“I liked the fact that the wash basin is not incorporated with the toilet/shower area. We found the staff was very friendly and accommodating. There is no breakfast included, but decent coffee available in the lobby.”

• Pool, Seattle's Best coffee in room, free bottle of water, nice decor, comfy lounge chair.
• Expensive restaurant; not a great breakfast; very loud AC fan.

“This hotel was in a great location, walking distance to shopping and eating. Our room had a terrific view of the bay and our family enjoyed the pool and spa.”

• Bedding is standard and layout of the room could be updated.

“The hotel looked great and clean. The staff was very friendly. The only thing that I would change is the actual layout of the room and the bedding you sleep on. It wasn't the most comfortable bed and it was hard to see the TV while lying down. With that said, the location is great and right outside of SF. It took me 15 minutes to get to golden gate park even with a couple wrong turns. The location is great with the price of San Francisco.”

“The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was convenient. The bed and room were small, but the hotel was sold out the night I was there and if not I could have asked for a bigger bed and gotten a bigger room. I would definitely stay here on my future business trips to the area (Oakland).”

• The bathroom was very small but liked having the sink outside of the bathroom.

“Employees are extremely incompetent. Could not get any directions. Was told that hotel 5-10 taxi ride from Berkley. In reality it is much further. Free shuttle from the town does not run according to schedule. Waited one hour on Sunday, ended up taking taxi.”

“The king bed was fine, the size of room was fine, the bathroom had small tub and little counter top space. The location of the hotel was central for our use, but also central for the railroad. I heard at least 6 trains pass by, during the Saturday night that we were there.”

• Not having the type of room guaranteed was frustrating. There was also no transportation from airport and the bathroom was small.

“This hotel was good overall. The location was convenient to restaurants and entertainment. The bathroom was small but the room was very comfortable. I liked the toiletries they provided and the pillows were very comfy.”

“The hotel was convenient for driving around the bay area, but for the price we paid, which wasn't budget, we expected more. The bathroom was very small and cramped and the sink was in the bedroom. Also, I can accept the mandatory 18% tip and delivery fee for room service, but we were forced to pay the same charges when we went downstairs for a buffet breakfast! Overall, it wasn't bad but our 4 night stay wasn't great either. Tips - 1. The Emeryville market (a short walk) is great for cheap food 2. The shuttle to the Bart does not come very often on Sundays.”

“This was a pretty nice hotel with location close to Berkeley area and to Bay Bridge. I was disappointed with the room size---rather small and the bed was a double I believe. I think maybe I was given a lower rate room since I booked with a lower price. I had a glimpse of a room on the opposite side of the hallway which appeared both larger and nicer.”

“The hotel has a very simple layout. The corridor runs down the middle of each floor, the room was a rectangular box with a smaller box inside for the bathroom. A little boring, but a good night's sleep.”

• The bar is right at the front door; it's drafty and unappealing.

“The room and the house cleaners were terrific. The room bigger than expected, and the maid nicer than expected. The bar location is poor and the dining room ambiance leaves a bit to be desired. The staff extremely warm and kind!”
