“Excellent staff, clean hotel, and nice pool.” Oct 11, 2009 by
Mark from Clinton,IA
“Hotel is convient to airport, shuttle was readily available to pick us up once we arrived. Shopping area with grocery store within easy two block walk. Shuttle to Port of Miami was easily arranged for through concierge. Pool area relaxing but disappointed there was no hot tub.” Jul 18, 2009 by
Ms. C from Philadelphia,PA
“It was a very nice hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating. Reading other comments of the hotel prior to our stay about the hotel not being clean or staff not friendly is not true. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.” May 13, 2009 by
Rebecca from Mount Pleasant,SC
“An exceptional hotel with great facilities and superb staff. The decor was very Miami and the view was exceptional.” Apr 21, 2009 by
Patricia from Stoughton,WI
“The hotel is within five minutes of the airport. The shuttle was extremely comfortable and on time. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and had a we will take care of it attitude. I would stay there again.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Rob from San Rafael,CA
“I was fairly impressed with this property. I was pleasantly surprised by the room service menu and the food was phenomenal. I ordered a NY steak and mesclun salad and was very impressed. The steak was cooked to order, the vegetables were all dente and the herbed butter was perfect. The service was prompt and the server was pleasant also. The beds were very comfortable and the sheet sets plush. All in all I was very happy.” Dec 7, 2008 by
Sheila from York,Canada
“This hotel was very nice. Would definitely stay there again. Found the dining room a little pricey.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Ciara from Madison, WY
“The room was very clean and the decor was modern and up to date. There were a few blemishes here and there. But, as they just came off their busy tourist season, I have faith these blemishes will be cleared up during the non-peak time. The pool with waterfall was beautiful and offered a nice sunset view. The staff was friendly. However, $4.50 for a small bottle of Gatorade and $8 for a cup of fruit is a bit on the excessive side. I would definitely stay at Sofitel again!” Sep 6, 2008 by
Joyce from Los Angeles, CA
“Just amazing staff I've stayed at the Waldorf Historian in New York etc, just amazing staff and would recommend to anyone.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Shelita from Alexandria, VA
“The staff was very courteous and helpful, from the housekeepers to the concierge. The decor was lovely and modern. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. My kids loved the pool. It was just as I had expected from the other reviews. Would recommend to anyone. Also, a 15 minute ride to Miami Beach and even shorter to Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami. Plenty of malls and shopping near by. Excellent!” Jul 12, 2008 by
Ruy from Flushing, NY
“I found this hotel to be out-of-date. It looked like it needed renovations in the rooms. The bathroom sink did not drain well at all. The decor was dated. There was a smell to the elevators and the rugs were worn out and dirty looking. The staff was aloof and unfriendly. The exercise room was distant from the hotel. There was a nice pool but it also looked old. It was overall an adequate hotel but the amenities and facilities were not up to par with it's rating.” Jun 6, 2008 by
Gia from West Hollywood, CA
“Beautiful clean airport hotel.” May 22, 2008 by
Sharon from Toronto, ON
“The Sofitel in Miami is not the same as the other Sofitel's. The rooms look nice but its not clean. There is no free coffee or fridges in the room. You get the basics. No free breakfast only a little cafe which is really expensive $8.00 US for a yogurt cup. The staff will only do what is offered at the hotel and nothing more. Not impressed with this hotel and would not stay here again for the price.” May 22, 2008 by
Sharon from Markham, ON CA
“When you check in the hotel looks nice. Going to the rooms you can tell it was old. The bathrooms were disgusting. There was hair, dirt and q-tips on the floor from the previous guest. It was not cleaned properly. The staff there does not bend over backwards to please you like they do on cruise ships.” May 7, 2008 by
Mmc from San Francisco, CA
“Fine for overnight to catch early flights at MIA. Room is ok, but hallway is like Motel 6. Located within a business park so no options to walk around.” May 7, 2008 by
Bill from Tacoma, WA
“Definitely a four star hotel but beginning to show some signs of aging. Breakfast at the restaurant was mediocre at best and pricey.” May 3, 2008 by
Eli from Seattle, WA
“The public areas and service are worthy of 4 stars but the rooms themselves are not and feel in need of a makeover. The bed was extremely comfortable but the bathroom felt small and unappealing. There were no coffee/tea facilities in the room, nor a mini fridge, which I found to be a big drawback. Staff were very friendly and helpful, however, immediately upgrading me to a suite when the original room they sent me to had not yet been prepared for a new guest (dirty towels and sheets were on the floor). The courtesy shuttle service to and from the airport was excellent, no more than a 5 minute wait and staffed by helpful and polite drivers.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Gail from Christiansted, VQ
“I've stayed at a lot of 3 star hotels that have a small refrigerator and microwave in the room as well as a coffee pot. I missed having that in this hotel. Hotel restaurant was very expensive.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Alyssa from Atlanta, GA
“I think the hotel was up to the standards set forth by the star rating. I was pleased with housekeeping who provided ample towels and washcloths and came only to clean at the hour that was specified.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Randy from Fairbanks, AK
“The Sofitel Miami hotel is by far one of the best luxurious hotels I have stayed at. The people are always friendly, the rooms are always clean, and the location to the airport is exceptional.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Dalliss from Branchville, NJ
“The hotel was nice enough, but not the usual compared to other 4-stars. The pool was not very clean and the fantastic waterfall in the photos was not running. Housekeeping was more efficient than the front desk. If staying in Miami again, we would not select this hotel.” Apr 26, 2008 by
Jackson from Palm Beach Gardens, FL
“With European flair. Wonderful Duvet and feather bed was like a nest. Mini Starbucks in lobby was great touch.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Mary from Spanish Fork, UT
“It was nice that we could have an early check in. We had just gotten off a cruise and about 10:00 in the morning the gave us one of our rooms. It was very dirty, One of the dirtiest hotels we have stayed in our lifetime. Great location by the airport, but would never stay their again.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Phil from Katy, TX
“The rooms were ok, we were expecting a lot more for the star rating it has! The restaurant looked ok, but the food was nasty! We tried to express it to the management, but they could care less. 50.00 for lunch that we could not eat! I will never stay there again.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Jennifer from Riverview, FL
“We stayed at this hotel as we had a quick overnight trip to the area. It was clean and comfortable.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Lori from Tarpon Springs, FL
“Excellent hotel with great staff. Beds are among the most comfortable we've ever encountered in a hotel.” Apr 20, 2008 by
La from Orlando, FL
“Really good location across from the Miami International Airport, close to downtown, etc. More for the business traveler. Service is great. Food is really good but pricey. Parking charge is reasonable compared to other hotels in Miami. The Hotel is dated, but has a lot of potential. Could use a remodel. Only complaint is the carpets in the rooms are dirty and could use a good steam cleaning once in a while or be replaced all together. I stay here every few months on business.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Cindy from Bar Mills, ME
“This hotel was ok. The people were extremely friendly, but they didn't follow thru. Our concierge was making reservations and a cab for us and the cab never showed, so the guy who relieved him got a limo driver to take us to the restaurant and told us "not to worry about it" when we asked how much this would cost us. We got to the restaurant and the guy tried to get 50.00 but we got him down to 40. However, the cab was to cost 20. When we complained at hotel, they did give us a round of drinks free, but it was still not acceptable that the limo driver, who works with the hotel, tried to take major advantage of us.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Am from Duluth, GA
“Stayed 1 night for an early morning flight out of MIA. Rooms were nice, clean & modern. Staff very friendly. Ate dinner at the bar - food was okay but quite expensive. I would stay again.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Pam from Rowlett, TX
“We truly loved the hotel and the room was perfect size, the beds were wonderful!” Apr 7, 2008 by
Jonathan from Lutz, FL
“I really like this hotel. The food and service is excellent and friendly. It has a good fitness club and a star bucks in the lobby. Its very comfortable and a nice size not too big not too small. It manages to be a first class hotel without being snobby. It is well situated near the airport and just about 15 minutes to South Beach or the Dolphin mall. Its my favorite hotel in Miami.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Jan from Big Pine Key, FL
“Stylish and well located, but should be classified as 3.5 stars not 4 stars. Lot of little things. Did not deliver USA Today to your door, did not put bill under door in am, poor selection of free TV channels, no coffee maker in room (presumable to drive traffic to coffee shop). I had to "check out/check in again" and get new room keys half way through the stay.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Alastair from Huntersville, NC
“Great hotel for stopover. Not much to do around it, but fine to get night sleep and continue my journey.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Brenda from Bradenton, FL
“This hotel was beautiful and clean. The view was fantastic and all of the staff that we came into contact with were great. We would love to stay here again!” Mar 30, 2008 by
John from Delray Beach, FL
“Very nice overall experience. Hotel could stand a slight update, but very nice as is. This is a very European feeling property.” Mar 28, 2008 by
Mary from Lexington, KY
“The room was clean, spacious and attractive. The room service was good. The location was very good with regards to the proximity to the airport.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Tim from Snohomish, WA
“Overall, the Sofitel Miami was a good value. The room was clean. but a bit out dated. There was no mini bar or coffee pot in the room. I wouldn't rate this 4 star but it was nice.” Mar 24, 2008 by
Bianca from Miami, FL
“First room I went into smelled musty, the second I got a view of the water which was nice. But the 2nd room had a smell as well unfortunately. The hotel is now new so it will show it in certain places. The staff is very nice and helpful which is a plus. Housekeeping accidentally took my towel but I was reimbursed with free room service. The food weather it be the Starbucks or room service is outrageously priced for so little food. The lobster bisque is not that good but the cheese platter is good though they were a little skimpy with the cheese. I liked the hotel but I really do prefer newer hotels being that I worked in the hospitality business for over 2 years.” Mar 14, 2008 by
Gordy from White Bear Lake, MN
“The overall experience was great. It was the last night of our trip and were pleased that the rooms were clean and nice, the beds soft, the lobby beautiful and they also had computers available for internet use.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Kevin from Lexington, MI
“I have stayed at Sofitel Hotels in the past. This Miami hotel did not even compare with the one in Washington DC. It does not belong in the same 4-star level as the DC Sofitel.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Walt from Hobe Sound, FL
“It was a nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and they provided a shuttle to the airport. I thought the room had excess noise from the airport. I have stayed at other hotel airports that have structured their facility to minimize airport noise. The bed was comfy and the room was clean.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Erich from Reston, VA
“The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. I had a corner room that looked out to a man made pond and the pool. The problem is that loading dock for the hotel was below my room as well and trucks were unloading at 6 am. This meant the horrible back up beep at high decibel and an idling diesel truck for 45 minutes. It was ridiculous. Not great for a weary traveler that didn't have to get up at sunrise. The issue is there is nothing near by. This hotel is basically in a business park with no dining options other than a 15 minutes drive.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Chris from Winnipeg, MB CA
“We were so impressed by Sofitel! We highly recommend this hotel in it's many locations around the world.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Deborah from Yarmouth Port, MA
“This hotel is conveniently located next to the airport with a free airport shuttle. Offers $10/person shuttle to the Port of Miami. Rooms are very attractive, corner room was unusually shaped and seemed larger. Pool area had a unique waterfall, very attractive setting on a lagoon. Breakfast is not inexpensive but what might be expected at an 4 star or more hotel. Quality was good even if it was a bit pricey. Would definitely stay again if needing an airport hotel.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Wla from Orlando, FL
“Great Miami Airport location. The staff is 4-5 star excellent. The hotel needs a facelift, and a good cleaning. Has potential to be really nice. The restaurant food is good, but pricing is ridiculous. $16 for a hamburger, fries, and tap water? That was pretty much the cheapest thing on the menu. Breakfast was just as bad. Paid $11 for a tiny box of cereal and milk. Had it delivered to my room in the morning with added fees cost me about $15 total.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Kathleen from Monona, WY
“Excellent staff , very pleasant, luxury surroundings, and very close to the airport with airport transportation.” Mar 4, 2008 by
William from Titusville, FL
“Fully met expectations.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Elsa from West Hempstead, NY
“A good location for Miami International airport, but provides poor quality dingy uncomfortable rooms. We booked a 4 Star Hotel and it barely meets 2 star rating.” Feb 24, 2008 by
Kristine from Juneau, AK
“We only had a few hours to stay in between flights so were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was very modern, clean and comfortable. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge upon check in so did not see a regular room. The shuttle driver was very nice as were front desk and room service staff. The bed was the most comfortable Ive been in a very long time.” Feb 23, 2008 by
Jerry from Lakewood, CA
“This Hotel was nice but it is starting to show signs of age. The little things are what keeps it from being a 4 star hotel in my mind. We only spent a total of 10 hours at this Hotel mostly sleeping so we didn't see all it had to offer. When we arrived we were told that the only room available had wet carpet so they said they would put us up at the Wyndham down the street. This was not good news at midnight. They figured it out & found us a room. The people hanging around the front door & lobby at midnight also looked a little shady. I didn't get the impression that they were guest.”
