• They went the extra mile to please their guests.
• The elevator smelled like body odor.

“I really liked the extras this hotel provided. They had a small library of books, cookies in the lobby, and a wonderful breakfast. The room was clean and spacious. Not to mention the pillows were among some of the comfiest I have ever slept on. Overall a great experience.”

• Hated it.

• Breakfast was great.
• Pool was a little cold for a 3 year old child.

“Hotel was nice. Front desk people were very nice and kind. Location was decent. The free breakfast was really tasty compared to many other free breakfasts. Not the easiest hotel to get to off the freeway. Nothing too special but was nice and clean.”

• Beds were very comfortable.
• Did not have separate sink/bathroom/shower. All in one room.

“We had a good stay here, although we arrived later and left earlier than we had planned. There was a noisy group of people that woke me up in the middle of the night. We had reserved two rooms, but because of circumstances needed only one. We still had to pay for two (so used both).”

• The hotel clerk should not talk about her personal woes.

• This hotel seemed very shabby - not at all Country Inn & Suites quality.

• Conveniently located near movie theater, Wal-Mart and restaurants. Breakfast is great.
• I told 2 front desk person on separate occasion for a late check out but 2 hrs before the time, they were knocking at my door already.

“Went to Bloomington for daughter's camp. Chose this hotel primarily for the free breakfast so we can save a little time in the morning. Hotel is situated near a movie theater, Wal-Mart and restaurants. ISU is 3 miles away. There's a driving range close by as well. My daughter loved Cookies in the lobby.”

• The breakfast attendant was very sweet to my children.
• The computers were down when I came in and I waited 1 hour to check in.

“This is a nice hotel if you just need a place to stay for the night. When we arrived the computers had gone offline and we waited for over an hour to check in, meanwhile, my children were getting impatient with the wait. No accommodations were made for our wait; we were just given a "Sorry." The free breakfast was nice, it did have fresh fruit available, and the attendant was very nice to my girls. It should definitely be noted that this hotel does allow pets and while they claimed to only allow them on the first floor, there were barking dogs on all levels. If you are sensitive to pet dander, skip this hotel.”

• Clean, neat and friendly desk workers. Even offered to let me use his personal computer.
• Dog show in town and there were at least 15 dogs staying there with owners.

“Perfect for what we needed; a clean, spot to lay our heads at night. Staff was polite and helpful in giving directions. It was way out of town and hard to find.”

• Front desk clerk.
• The bed (mattress ) was marginal.

“The hotel was well located, close to the interstate. The front desk clerk was pleasant. Beside the bed being marginal, the facilities was clean and we felt like we received very good value for the cost. The breakfast selection (breakfast was included with the room), was larger than most other hotels and the food was good. Would 'do it again'.”

• 1:30 am Garbage Truck was inexcusable.

“The hotel was fine and were it not for being woken up at 1:30 in the morning by the garbage truck repeatedly bouncing the dumpster to empty it, it would have been fine. I found this inexcusable. I have experienced it at other hotels and always wonder what they were thinking when they allowed it. It would be like a plumber dragging a hose through a dining room while people were eating. It would never be allowed because it would be wrong.”

• The old lady who gave out juice in the lobby.
• The fighting and abusive front desk staff.

“The staff at the front desk were fighting and arguing the whole time I was in the lobby I was waiting for two clients to arrive they were running late and called the front desk they told them that I was a no show and they had no record of me until I said excuse me that's me, the room was dingy really awful.”

• It was clean in our room.
• The swimming area was awful. The spa was not functioning properly. The housekeeping knocked on our door at 9:30am. Then proceeded to vacuums Not good.

“I do not recommend this for family or romance. It had no atmosphere. One of my worst stays at a hotel I've had.”

• Upgraded to king suite - excellent value. Comfortable bed.
• Noise from hallways very loud. Room was dirty - green dried sputum in sink. Large food particles behind nightstand in bedroom. Lampshades dusty.

“It was an excellent value. On check-in I requested a complimentary upgrade, which the desk clerk did not want to consider. Luckily, the manager was on hand to intervene and granted my request gladly. The room had cleanliness issues. Breakfast was good quality and tasty. Pool was too cold. Lots of noise from other guests in hallway. Good bedding and pillows. Location convenient to highway and Wal-Mart, but far enough away to be quiet and safe.”

• The cookies upon check-in were a nice touch!
• Did not receive wake up call.

“When I checked in, the staff person was very pleasant and helpful. When I was checking out, though, I mentioned the fact that we did not receive our wake-up call. The desk clerk just kind of shrugged and said, "Yeah, sometimes the calls don't go through." No apology; no promise to look into the situation. The breakfast offered was not too appetizing -- I took a muffin for the road, but ended up throwing it out of my car window (minus the paper liner, of course) because it was so dry and tasteless.”

“Very nice and comfortable. Their recommendation for where to eat was not good, but these things happen. It was a very cold night in Bloomington and the warmth of the fireplace in the lobby created a friendly, inviting welcome. The lots were plowed very well.”

“First of all, it hadn't snowed in 2 days, and the parking lot wasn't even cleaned of snow. Then we were put in a room that wasn't even cleaned. Then we were put in a room that smelled so bad of cigarette smoke, we had to move. The third room finally was o.k., until the last night. The toilet overflowed for some reason at 11 o'clock at night. I ended up cleaning it up myself. Also that same night, our keys wouldn't open our door. I spent most of my time at the front desk getting things fixed. I would never stay here again, even if it was free. I may quit using this service to go to this location.”

“Good place for family travelers because of the nice breakfast. But most of the time the eggs, sausage, gravy, and biscuit containers were empty. They brought out two biscuits at a time, and the breakfast room was filled to overflowing -we ate in the lobby.”

• The hotel staff we very inviting and helpful. The hot continental breakfast had a lot more to offer then other hotels I have been!
• The heating/air-conditioning unit in our room was not sealed into the wall! I could see the outside from in my room. So the cold air kept coming in.

“Over all it was a good stay. The rooms were a little less then expected. The beds were very squishy. The people, food, and pool/spa were the opposite, they were really great! Over all it was a good place to stay.”

• It was convenient, clean and had plenty of hot water and good pressure in the shower!
• The first room had a horrific buzzing noise and we asked to switch rooms.

“If you are looking for a clean place to sleep, but don't look for more than that. Bed was somewhat comfortable, bathroom was clean, and pillows were smelly and lumpy. If you are tired, it works out just fine.”

• It accepts animals - My daughter and I are very allergic to dogs and had severe allergy problems. This needs to be stated ahead of time not after the.
• Dogs.

“If you are going to give customers a hotel that accepts dogs this MUST be stated. My daughter and I are both severely allergic to dogs and had allergy problems for both the days we were there. I was not aware that dogs were allowed until I saw customers walking in with them. This was totally not acceptable. Peoples health depend on getting the facts ahead of time and THIS COMPANY fell down on its job at my daughters and my expense. There are no excuses for that. I have always been very positive in the past but it sure stopped here.”

• The Country Inn Suites on the other side of town is nicer.

“Not sure that it rate 2.5 stars, might just be a 2. Hotel could use a little bit of fluffing up - there was a hole in my carpet and big pieces of grout missing from the floor in the bathroom. Fine for limited stays.”
