• We wanted to shop so location was great for walking to shops.
• They did not offer complimentary coffee/tea in room, it was part of mini bar.

“This was my first 'boutique' hotel experience, and although the location was great I would not rate it a 4 star hotel. They did allow early check-in for us which was very helpful.”

• Old rooms - new beds - dirty, not polite, not hospitable, broken outlets, water damage, etc.

“We had broken outlets, dirty sheets, water damage, impolite service - when we asked for clean sheets since our were clearly dirty and not cleaned we seemed as an inconvenience.”

• Loved the contemporary decor and food.
• Bed was a little uncomfortable.

“I would highly recommend this hotel for couples especially. It is very upscale. The rooms are beautiful as well as the roof top bar. I found it to be romantic. The bar staff and waiters / waitresses were extremely friendly and accommodating. Loved it!”

• When we were checking in they offered free food and massages for people participating in the Chicago Marathon.

“Everyone was so friendly there. They always made sure all our needs were taken care of. Highly recommended.”

• Modern look and amenities.
• Windows were old and let air in.

“Was a great find for the price, would stay here again. The Jr. Suite was clean, modern and quiet and very close to the activity of Michigan Ave. Elevators are slow and the windows are old and drafty; otherwise, no complaints. Great rooms, not tall enough of a building for great views.”

• Quality digs in a great location. A gem.

“Hidden away on a narrow street but still only half a block from The Magnificent Mile. The Affinia has a lot going for it. Location, first of all, as it is a short walk from many premium department stores on Michigan Ave as well as a vibrant shopping area only a block or two North (Water Tower Place and environs). There are many fine eateries nearby, as well. It is only a 15 minutes walk to the downtown Loop as well as Millennium Park and Navy Pier. The suite was fantastic and had all the space we needed and more. The room and all fixtures were new, clean and working perfectly. The furniture and art (photos of local buildings, mainly) were attractive and create a very modern vibe. Good water pressure and instantly hot water was available in the shower. The staff was all very friendly, although we asked little of them as everything was pretty squared away. The bellmen help create a great first and last impression as they are all helpful and talkative without being too in your face. The only negative, and a small one at that, is that the hotel is only a block away from a hospital, so there were frequent sirens at all hours.”

“Excellent experience staying at the Affinia. Wonderfully modern rooms with a very attentive and courteous staff. The location is a great one for business or pleasure in downtown Chicago and I even loved the view. Highly Recommended!”

• The rooms were nice.
• Elevator didn't work, parking for $44 per day and slow staff.

“I would not stay at this hotel again, the staff tried to play you for tips by passing you off to another person (more than twice). Rooms were nice and clean. We travel all over NY, LA and many other place and not treated as we were in this Chicago hotel.”

• The location, comfortable bed, down comforter.
• A little noisy, could here through the walls.

“Nice room, comfortable, enjoyed the location. The room was a little noisy we were located next to the staff supply room. So early in the morning we heard the door being open and shut a lot.”

“We found the affine to be well located and the service quite helpful. Everything worked as expected. It was a great stay for us. The only issue we faced was that it was too short!”
