Michael from Skiatook, OK
“I was looking forward all week to laying out by the pool and relaxing, so it was a big disappointment when we got there and the pool was closed. Newly remodeled rooms are very clean and nice, but I don't like the drab brown carpet they picked for the halls and rooms at all. Public spaces (lobby, etc.) look great. I love the elements spa in the hotel, it's fantastic. I work in the building next door and have been to the spa several times. The main restaurant, east side of the building, and streets around the building are still under major construction, so there's still quite a bit of construction headache to deal with, but it will be great when it's finished.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Pat from Enid, OK
“If you're visiting for business downtown, its a great location. However, there are not any restaurants within walking distance, and only a couple pubs/bars in the Blue Dome district, two blocks away. For being downtown, there actually isn't much functional surrounding the hotel. However, if you have transportation the hotel itself exceeded expectations. If you're coming to Tulsa for May fest this hotel is a must.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Bill from Lawton, OK
“Pool was closed. Manager said it has been closed for over a year. There was construction going on in and all around the hotel which was very annoying. The only restaurant that was open had a menu that consisted of 2 items which I was told it would take at least 20 minutes to prepare. One was a hamburger the other a club sandwich.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Craig from Tornillo, TX
“Construction at and outside of the hotel was inconvenient. The hotel had dirty woodwork, scratched and smudged throughout. The hotel seemed all, but abandoned during the stay. Hotel staff never greeted me upon entering or exiting. The garage is dirty and creepy, and the elevators are poorly marked. Despite all this, the room was very nice.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Jana from Lawton, OK
“The room was big and clean, but they told us it was a non-smoking room, and it clearly wasn't. The staff was friendly but generally uninformed. For example, they told us to enter the parking garage through an entrance that was temporarily shut down. I wanted to do express check-out, and they didn't know what I was talking about. There was a loud group of people next door who woke us up at around 3:30 am and then the alarm clock in the room went off at 6 am. Of course, the noise next door is not the hotel's fault, but I just assumed that they would check their clocks while preparing the room for new guests. We also came back to the hotel a little before 11 pm. Room service was closing, and there was no other way to get food in the hotel. Just overall an unpleasant experience.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Tony from Muskogee, OK
“This hotel would be good for a business traveler who is just looking for a nice room to sleep in. Not for family vacationing - pool was under renovation. Location very hard to get to, parking was somewhat expensive as well on top of room cost. May be better in a few months when renovations are done.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Jere from Dardanelle, AR
“The Crowne Plaza is a nice hotel and has a nice central location. Outside the hotel, it's hard to get around, because there is a lot of construction going on all over the downtown area and the hotel is located right in the middle of it. Otherwise, very nice.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Lori from Edmond, OK
“My girls were upset because the pool was not working.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Davina from Fort Smith, AR
“Very comfortable, nice room interior.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Elaine from Fort Worth, TX
“I was disappointed in the Crowne Plaza in Tulsa. The staff all had buttons on that said "call 19 if you need anything" but when I called, they referred me to the desk to find out what time cutoff was for laundry (she didn't know). The 45 minute wait for food was expanded to 1 1/2 hours when they forgot to put my order in the computer. The valet was not at his station when I pulled in and the desk clerk seemed put out to help me, so I self parked. With all the construction going on, it was a bit of a mess to get into and out of. I was terribly disappointed in the over all service from all but one employee there. Being 4 star is about service as well as atmosphere. I got better service at the local holiday in express. This hotel definitely needs to be downgraded to a 3 star and for that price, I will just stay at the local Holiday Inn Express which has far better service, is the same price, has a pool, and does not charge for things like parking.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Charles from Palm Desert, CA
“We enjoy staying at the Crowne Plaza Tulsa. It's the perfect place for us. We noticed in the local paper that the remodel has cost $20M. The renovation is really nice, but don't think that it seems like a $20M renovation.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Michelle from Lees Summit, MO
“The hotel was very hard to get to check in and you had to go up an elevator to check in as well. The hotel lobby area and elevators were not very clean, however our room seemed clean.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Stacy from Columbia, MO
“The hotel in general was nice. The restaurant was just a meeting room with hot plates to be served from. Not my idea of a restaurant. Nice bed/linens. Beautiful furnishings.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Jenna from Athens, GA
“I was very pleased with this hotel. Most of the renovations are done and it looks beautiful. The restaurant hadn't opened yet, but they have a fully functioning Starbucks inside the hotel! It's located downtown, which would be nice, but there is a lot of construction going on making it difficult to drive around. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Glynis from Edmond, OK
“The hotel is under construction and it shows. The rooms are nice, the service wasn't great, might try again once everything is finished. Might not.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Trey from Oklahoma City, OK
“It was a good look, and the people were nice, the only thing was that there was so much construction around it was hard to navigate to. Also didn't like having to pay for parking.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Craig from Notre Dame, IN
“Good location. Staff was adequate, but not overly helpful. Under construction, therefore, it was noisy and dirty. Few TV channels, one computer in computer lab which was antiquated no after hours lounge. No way to get food in hotel after 10 p.m.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Suzee from Red Oak, OK
“Great room service. Friendly staff.” May 31, 2008 by
Tish from Edmond, OK
“The whole area is under major construction and it was the end of a holiday weekend so I'm sure this impacted our stay in a negative way. I would be glad to give the hotel another chance when the area is less chaotic. Valet service was supposed to be 24 hrs. Most of the time I had to bring my keys to the front desk since there was no valet available. Room service did not pick up twice after repeated calls. I was able to contact them through the operator - but not directly. Service folks varied in their friendliness anywhere from aloof to excellent so the experience was not consistent.” May 30, 2008 by
John from Oklahoma City, OK
“I paid extra for valet parking and called in advance to have car ready, when I arrive down stairs. It is like I never called, this happened everyday, newspapers placed at several doors in morning but not mine, television remote very confusing, hotel deserted with shops, pools, front desk not attended all the time. Was unable to break a $20.00 bill for $1.50 bottle of coke in vending machine. Gift shop only open at select hours. Access to hotel is terrible. Was not made aware of all of the construction and lack of published amenities.” May 30, 2008 by
Bonnie from Richardson, TX
“The lobby and the room were nice. My children were not very happy that the pool was closed. In general we had a pleasant stay.” May 29, 2008 by
Freddie from Fayetteville, AR
“Hotel was clean and the rooms had been renovated. The common areas were still under construction. There was quite a bit of noise and some areas were not open. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would use this hotel in the future.” May 28, 2008 by
Kujo from San Diego, CA
“Good place, nice rooms, great staff.” May 24, 2008 by
Mike from Great Bend, KS
“The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the rooms were comfortable. There was however construction going on everywhere, with a make shift bar and restaurant. The hallways were not very clean, but I'm sure that had to do with construction. If you go here, be aware of con artist in the parking areas asking for money. Hotel should warn you about them, but didn't.” May 23, 2008 by
Laura from Weatherford, TX
“Crowne Plaza is in the middle of a major renovation of this property. The guest rooms are complete and wonderful! The restaurant seating area is still in construction as is much of the public area. The kitchen is somewhat operating although we gave it two goes and then gave up and ate elsewhere. The buffet they offered was overcooked (not refreshed during the evening), but had good offerings of salmon, baked chicken and pasta. The room service try the next night yielded one incorrect meal, one correct, no silverware, no napkins and only one glass of water. Very odd. Came away from our stay of 5 nights feeling like they have their better staff on vacation until the remodel is complete - or at least, you hope this was their back up staff. I would have expected better from a Crowne Plaza, remodel or not.” May 22, 2008 by
Am from Mckinney, TX
“The room was very large, comfortable and very beautifully decorated. We understand they are in the process of remodeling the hotel, so we didn't mind some of the mess here and there. It is going to be quite lovely when complete.” May 22, 2008 by
David from Grove, OK
“Hotel under major renovation. Any evaluation must be considered in that context. Should have been aware of construction B4 check in.” May 21, 2008 by
Debbie from Wichita, KS
“Staff was incredibly friendly. I had trouble with the room key twice, and it turned out to be an "operator error." Concierge was extremely helpful helping us find a place to eat fairly late on a Saturday night and gave us directions to a casino. The hotel is being renovated, and the rooms are beautiful and modern. Nice touches such as the doors on the closets. But in some of the public areas, finish work could have been better i.e. the wallpaper was tearing apart already near the buttons for the elevator. Doors on our floor, the ninth, were very dirty/dusty.” May 21, 2008 by
Stephanie from Hugo, OK
“I would rate this hotel a 3 on scale of 1-10 its in a poor location the renovations were not disclosed at the time of booking the indoor swimming pool was closed and it was noisy and dirty in some areas. I would not recommend this hotel in it's present state to anyone and would not stay there again.” May 20, 2008 by
Janice from Olathe, KS
“They are remodeling so things are a little disorganized. We had to change rooms because the first one we walked in the floor was wet from where they had shampooed the carpet.” May 19, 2008 by
John from Plainview, TX
“A nice hotel. I look forward to the remodel being complete, this will add to the enjoyment. Very helpful staff.” May 19, 2008 by
Doug from Fpo, AP
“Hotel is a very nice property and when renovations are complete will be very nice. My child was all set to go swimming and pool was closed as part of renovation, disappointed. Tended to be a bit noisy, also probably d/t renovation.” May 15, 2008 by
James from Albuquerque, NM
“Renovations have continued here for over a year (as of May 08): going very slowly. So are various city renovations in the area (Downtown Tulsa). As it is, many of the conveniences are lacking or being repaired. The hotel staff, however, was wonderful: among the best.” May 14, 2008 by
James from Wichita, KS
“It was unfortunate that not only was the hotel in a state of renovation, the city streets in the surrounding area were also torn up. So not only was the hotel difficult to get to, it was in a state of upheaval inside as well.” May 13, 2008 by
Amber from Hartselle, AL
“The bed was very comfortable. The renovated furnishings were worn and most of the staff was not friendly. The location is terrible right now because of constructions. The parking is terrible! The garage attendant was rude and accused us of using valet but not paying for it? We never used valet. If you are looking for a comfortable bed in a safe place than this is your hotel.” May 13, 2008 by
Melissa from Edmond, OK
“I was concerned about this hotel because of other reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Other than the construction around the hotel, this hotel was wonderful. The construction going on in the hotel did not bother us. The room was newly redecorated, beautiful, very comfortable, and clean. We were on the 4th floor, but did not hear train noise. I thought we got great value for the money we spent.” May 13, 2008 by
Wellington. from Houston, TX
“Good hotel for business, however Tulsa is a particular city where you can't find a lot of attractions in downtown.” May 12, 2008 by
Sally from San Antonio, TX
“This hotel exceeded my expectations with its genuinely friendly, customer focused staff. The room was newly remodeled and beautiful. I had a very pleasant stay, and will definitely return.” May 11, 2008 by
Curt from Norman, OK
“Crowne Plaza is a beautiful building downtown indicative of the oil boom. My room welcomed me with tasteful mod style. Still needs a little cleanup from the renovations, but this hotel is definitely poised for a come back.” May 9, 2008 by
Mitch from Broken Arrow, OK
“Nice hotel in Downtown Tulsa with great view.” May 8, 2008 by
Beau from Norman, OK
“The public areas of the hotel are still undergoing renovations, but the rooms are very nice. For being in a state of renovation, the hotel is very clean and I had no problem with noise, but I was on the eleventh floor. There is paid parking in a garage next door, I paid about five dollars a day and had in and out privileges. Also road construction surrounding the hotel, but traffic was never a problem for me over a long weekend. I wish there would have been a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Overall, I was happy with the hotel, the staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. The incomplete public areas didn't bother me because there are at least 5 local bars and a few restaurants within a ten minute or so walk from the hotel.” May 8, 2008 by
Roger from Norman, OK
“I wouldn't rate it above a Holiday in express or best western. Room was just a motel six with some nicer furniture.” May 7, 2008 by
Bridget from Odenton, MD
“This hotel will be very nice. Right now it is just not a 3 star hotel. They are working everywhere it seemed. The pool was closed, the front desk, the store, the lobby and the restaurant all receiving some kind of renovation. If want to use the spa book early!” May 6, 2008 by
Steven from Greenwood, AR
“I was very pleased with the hotel selection. The streets surrounding the hotel were under construction and made it difficult to gain access for unloading and parking. The hotel itself is renovating. This was okay, with the exception the indoor swimming pool was closed for renovation, and that was one of the primary perks I was hoping for in an upscale hotel. I would have preferred to have known this before hand or at least before arriving. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel.” May 6, 2008 by
Richard from Redondo Beach, CA
“Considering what I paid for the hotel, it was adequate. Brought a plumbing problem to the front desk several times which was never totally resolved. Had to shut off the water to the toilet in my room each night to resolve the issue.” May 1, 2008 by
Jackie from Sheboygan, WI
“Nice hotel, nice location, however the hotel and city were under a lot of construction. Would not have stayed Downtown if I knew this.” May 1, 2008 by
Diana from Atwood, KS
“The Crowne Plaza Tulsa has some lovely guest rooms, but the entire hotel is under-going a remodel. The pool was not functioning while we were there. The lobby was under construction also and even the streets all around the hotel were torn up.” May 1, 2008 by
Deborah from Heavener, OK
“I would recommended this place to anyone, the only reason they didn't get all high marks was they were in the process of remodeling and the staff was busy getting things rearranged. But the room was wonderful, the beds very comfortable, staff were good at giving information. All the roads around the hotel were under construction, so I couldn't give a high score for the location because of so many detours at this time.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Earl from Bella Vista, AR
“Maybe in a year or two when the remodeling of the hotel and the area are done, I might consider staying there again.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Ron from Oklahoma City, OK
“Very nice - good location but with the remodeling ongoing and the pool not open, it was disappointing for a weekend stay.” Hotel Representatives:
