“Probably the nicest hotel we've stayed or visited. Shops closed early. Shuttle to Grand Ole Opry was frustrating as the lines were long and not enough shuttles to handle the crowd at show time.” Mar 2, 2009 by
Lee from Moscow,PA
“Excellent experience. I will never forget it. It is definitely something you want to see!” Dec 1, 2008 by
Heidi from Florence, AL
“It's very apparent the hotel doesn't like customers that purchase rooms from third party vendors. After we checked in and were taken to our room, we discovered it wasn't a room, but half of a suite. The half that has no bed but rather a sleeper sofa. My 6'4" husband and I got to share a 4" pull out couch mattress. The roll a way for my child had a thicker mattress. The manager at the front counter's only excuse was they were oversold for the night. I am saddened as we have gone to the hotel for years to enjoy the holiday spirit, however, I think Scrooge has moved in. Also agree with other reviews that there is an undisclosed fee for everything. Couldn't wait to get home, just an awful experience.” Nov 29, 2008 by
John from Monroeville,AL
“Wonderful place! So much to do in a close area. The mail is so close. Kids things to do all over. We had grandchildren with us and they had a ball. We will visit again! A week just flew by with all there is to do at the hotel and in Nashville.” Nov 28, 2008 by
John from Chatsworth,GA
“When we checked in they gave us a room that did not have an actual bed, just a pullout sofa. Did you guys know they do that? We were not notified at checkout. I obviously objected so after about 30 minutes they gave us another room. They did not handle the crowds well with the shuttles and such, which are odd, because the place is built for huge crowds. It just seemed like everywhere you turned there was overpriced poor service. We had a nice weekend, but will not stay there again.” Nov 25, 2008 by
Jackie from Boaz,AL
“Hotel was clean, staff was accommodating and the location was excellent. We didn't have to get the car out during our stay. There was so much to do in and around the area that we didn't have to go anywhere that transportation was not provided.” Oct 30, 2008 by
Jamie
“Upon entering the hotel you see a beautiful lobby and the front desk was very nice. We were given an upgrade but honestly had we not been given the upgrade I don't believe the room would have been much different. You had to pay a $15 dollar resort fee per day as well as an $18 per day parking fee. The resort is located on acres of land with plenty of parking. I could see having to pay if we were in the city and parking was limited but that was not the case. As far as the $15 per day resort fee all that got you was 2 bottles of water and the opportunity to use the pool and fitness center, which is included in the rate of any other hotel I have ever stayed at.” Oct 24, 2008 by
Kizer
“Wonderful hotel with plenty to do and enjoy! Only downfall is the parking prices. $18 per entry for self-parking and $25 a day for valet.” Oct 23, 2008 by
Jacquie
“This hotel was convenient to the places we needed to go to. There was plenty to do in the hotel while my husband was in meetings. I enjoyed the stay very much. It was a nice little get-a-way for us, even though he had business for some of the stay.” Oct 7, 2008 by
diann
“There was an activity fee, parking fee, etc all on top of the room rate. Too expensive.” Oct 3, 2008 by
michael from DeSmet, SD
“Had the opportunity to be an exhibitor at a recent show held at the Nashville location. I was not impressed. It was so big and difficult to get around. They need to take lessons from Vegas. Getting unloaded took 4 hours and when we wanted to leave, the personnel was rude and not helpful. Plan on staying an extra day. It takes that long to get loaded and out after the show.” Sep 24, 2008 by
jean
“Have been there twice. Don't know if we will return - beautiful, but expensive.” Sep 10, 2008 by
Denise from Louisville, KY
“All in all, if you are able to splurge a little and are looking for a romantic getaway, this was terrific. The hidden fees were a little disappointing (paying for parking, the "resort" fee, etc.). That was the only negative. We had a great time.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Jo E. from Jasper, IN
“Wonderful.” Sep 7, 2008 by
Mary from Westland
“We came for the quilt show - it took forever to get someone to help get scooters for two of our handicapped friends which reserved them weeks ahead - staff did not know where to direct us to them. We could not find the center to the quilt show and staff was not very helpful. The facility was very pretty but a lot of work to get places we needed directions to.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Dee from Lancaster, OH
“I was a resort experience. In my opinion the gardens and water features in a climate controlled environment are the best reasons to stay at this hotel. It is a trip to downtown and the cost to shuttle from the hotel is $18 per person.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Jack from Towanda, IL
“Love the resort feel and the location.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Lance from Benton, KY
“Had to wait 2 hours for the room to be ready after check in time.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Sharada from Pembroke Pines, FL
“I had a pleasant stay at the hotel and enjoyed the overall trip.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Ruth from Union City, TN
“I really enjoyed the feel of the hotel, and the lovely grounds. Great food. The only thing I didn't like was the extra cost. So much add on for fees and tax, just unreal how much it added to our cost. I stayed downtown Renaissance, great place, better price:.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Fred from Crossville, TN
“The room furnishings were wonderful. We got a good nights sleep. Walking distance to room was a little to far. You could not be in a hurry to get somewhere else as check in took time even at 11:00 PM (long line). Otherwise our stay was very delightful and we will use this hotel again.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Kenneth from Alva, FL
“As a senior traveling with 9 & 11 year old grandchildren; great atriums, scenery, etc., needs better moderate price restaurant options. Would recommend.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Barbara from Cape Girardeau, MO
“I did not like the $16.00 charge for parking and the $15.00 resort charge. Hour to check-in. The correct entrance was not easily marked and the parking lots could not be accessed because a room key/card was needed. Our room needed a little dusting and there was some hair on the bathroom floor.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Shannon from Fenton, MO
“I will not go back to this hotel. I had no idea that I would have to pay $16.95 plus tax to park my car and then had an extra $15.00 for what was called a resort fee. The resort fee is what is include in the cost of a nights stay at all other hotels. I thought that was pretty deceitful. It took forever and a day to register. We waited in our car to even pull up to the door for 45 minutes before we turned around and went to dinner. We came back and just parked the car. Once inside, we wanted forever and a day in the registration line to get our room. I mentioned my displeasure to the lady registering us only to find out that she could care the less. I will absolutely not recommend this hotel and have mentioned this experience to the many people I have seen since I have been back.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Aug 13, 2008 by

“Great hotel! Very comfortable and peaceful! Great views and beautiful lobbies and gardens.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Karen from Medina, OH
“Resort was beautiful & clean but food was expensive & was a long wait plus the pools closed too early for the kids.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Lisa from Hopkinsville, KY
“Very nice hotel, most restaurants are very expensive and be aware that there is a $15.00 resort fee when you check in and it is $16.00 a day to park. Very nice, the gardens are beautiful and has some neat shops with somewhat reasonable prices. We had a very nice stay.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Freda from Grand Rapids, MI
“This hotel is beyond description. It is most beautiful. However expect hidden costs. Parking is really steep. But you cannot find more opulence without going to Vegas.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Ron from Gurnee, IL
“The hotel was nice. I was not impressed with some of the staff. I really, really did not like having to pay for parking or a daily fee for the "extra" amenities.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Tiffany from Cunningham, KY
“Loved the hotel, but the additional fees were a surprise at check-in.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Theodore from Hartsville, TN
“I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Amy from Fulton, KY
“Very clean with beautiful scenery. Room was very much like all other hotel rooms. Not what I expected considering the beautiful scenery inside the hotel. I would not have stayed there.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Rick from Madison, AL
“I would prefer more thorough menu's in all restaurants.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Carol from Bloomington, IL
“This is a lovely hotel, very large and easy to become lost. You have no reason to leave the property if you are looking for a fine resort with many special attractions and good service.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 15, 2008 by
Janice from Temecula, CA
“One of the best 3 star rated hotels I've visited. It is clearly a higher star rating than others. It didn't have the in suite amenities of a four star hotel but the atmosphere, furniture, beds and bedding were clearly above the Hilton, Holiday Inn Express or even the Residence Inn. A spectacular value for the money. I'd definitely stay there again.” Jun 10, 2008 by
Vivian from Mclean, VA
“Unbelievable beauty.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Vicki from Murfreesboro, TN
“Opryland Resort lives up to its name. From the moment we entered the hotel lobby to check in until it was time to go home, we felt like our comfort was first priority to the staff. The resort was spotless and the gardens beautiful. The indoor pool was absolutely a gem that rivals the two outdoor pools available. My daughter loved the pool. A perfect weekend stays for us and for anyone who really needs to feel pampered and special.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Cheryl S. from New Market, AL
“I enjoyed our stay despite the pool incident. I would say that precautions should be taken to have all guests in the pool get out as soon as anything suspicious is found in the pool. That was not the case this past Saturday May 31, 2008. When I asked the life-guards what the problem was (because I saw them get a large fishing net to remove something), I thought fish may have been in the pool. I was told by the female staff that she did not know what it was and that she would inform me as soon as she found out. After more than 10 minutes and no explanation I made my son get out of the pool and informed anyone else planning to get in the pool not to. I later learned that another child had had a bowel movement in the pool moments before we arrived. To make matters worse I asked to have the resort fees removed and initially was told that the person in charge of the spa said no. However a lovely young lady at the front desk took care of the problem by having the fees removed and apologized for the inconvenience. My only other concern was that my son and I both have asthma and the bathroom vents in the room was in desperate need of cleaning. There is no Garden of Eden on earth however, I still found The Gaylord with its indoor botanical garden, delicious food at the Cascades and tropical weather inside to maybe the closest thing I'll ever experience to it.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Ed from Tupelo, MS
“We have stayed at Opryland several times and the service and condition of the property is always excellent. The staff is very friendly and always willing to attend to your every need.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Yvonne from Morganfield, KY
“Overall the weekend stay short and a great one for us.” Jun 1, 2008 by
Nettie from Huntsville, AL
“It was well located and a beautiful place with lots to see. I wish we could have stayed longer.” May 30, 2008 by
Liz from Harvest, AL
“I'd never stayed at the Opryland Hotel before. It was amazing!” May 30, 2008 by
Tyler from Warrenville, IL
“This would be a great convention hotel. The only real downside is it is a bit like Vegas, the place is enormous and very difficult to find your way out. Not surprising, when you are lost, you always end up at one of their shops or restaurants. Pool areas were large and very clean. Location right next Opryland would be good if you liked country music.” May 21, 2008 by
Colin from Columbus, IN
“Very nice hotel with the best indoor gardens etc. Some of the restaurants are expensive - so either go out or avoid the steak restaurant ($120) for 2 main course, no drinks and no desert!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 21, 2008 by
Mary from Atlanta, GA
“The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are lovely and very clean. The staff is wonderful. The public spaces are truly amazing. The only problem we had was with Cascade Restaurant. The signage and printed brochure stated it would open for lunch on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. We arrived there at 11:40 and were told that it would not begin lunch serve until noon. They did not offer an explanation, and did not let us sit down inside the restaurant. There were a few people in the restaurant from breakfast. Several people were waiting and all had to stand and were not allowed inside the restaurant. When I asked why this was, the manager told me that the Watershed restaurant was closed and so they had to accommodate those people for breakfast. When a restaurant cannot begin a lunch service while just a few people remain having breakfast is beyond me. A restaurant of this caliber should have been able to handle it. Also, better communication is needed between restaurants, so that if one restaurant is closing the other ones are aware and can handle the overflow.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 16, 2008 by

“Really enjoyed our stay. would like to stay there again.” May 15, 2008 by

“Wonderful place to stay, but watch out for the other costs. Parking and resort fees. They add up quickly.”
