  • Great hotel, awsome lobby and service.
  • The view from my room was poor.

“I would advise a room above the 3rd floor otherwise you will be looking at the train tracks.”

  • Lobby was beautiful.
  • Room was very dirty and noisy.

“I was surprised that the room was very very dirty. Many trash on the floor and worms in bathroom. They hadn't cleaned the room after previous guests used it. There was a someone's underwear in the bathroom! Besides, the room was very noisy (may be it was a sound of air conditioner). I couldn't sleep in the room. Sure, I asked the staff to change the room next day, but the staff made a disagreeable face!”

  • The historic of it were interesting to me and the rooms were so homey.
  • It would have been nice to have a pool or a Jacuzzi and better TV reception on local channels.

“I would definitely stay there again. I would, however, like to see at least a Jacuzzi put in somewhere. Somewhere that does not hinder the historic value of the hotel. The price was a little high for what I am used to, but the best for what I was looking for. It was suggested to me to stay at the Regency Hotel due to the NNEP show that was in town, but the price was higher there.”

  • This hotel is not for young people. It does not have a pool or gym or any entertainment.

“If you like historic buildings then this place is for you. The location is great. It is within walking distance to all the downtown activities. However if you are looking for a hotel with more entertainment then perhaps you should check elsewhere. There is no pool, exercise room, or restaurants.”

  • The trains in the adjacent switch yard were LOUD!

“If you are going for romantic ambiance, and gorgeous, charming details, this is the hotel for you. If you, however, would like to sleep at night, the trains just outside your window are too loud, and single pane glass does almost nothing to abate the noise.”

  • Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The hotel was very accommodating and had a van to take us to different parts of Nashville.
  • Some people would not like the train sounds but it did not bother us.

“The Union Station hotel is an excellent value in Nashville. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed. Do not expect a scenic view of downtown Nashville; instead savor the railroad history in the refurbished lobby and enjoy the beautiful spiral staircase off of the lobby. The hotel is close to most tourist destinations or if where you want to go is not within walking distance the hotel staff will take you there in the van. My daughters and I loved staying in this hotel during our 4 week long driving trip.”

  • Beautiful lobby. Good location.
  • Views from lower rooms. Pricey for what you get.

“If you want a decent view from your room, be sure to ask for it. Our room overlooked the inside of pigeon stained arch about 3 feet from the window. If we ducked down we could see the railroad tracks where the occasional drunk would stumble by. The room itself was ok. The lobby is very unique. It is within a healthy walk of the nightclub area (plus they offered a free shuttle that we did not use). The staff we encountered were neither rude nor pleasant. They all seemed rather distracted.”

  • All employees were extremely helpful and very courteous.
  • The housekeepers accidentally left some old refreshments that were intended for the room's previous guests.

“I had a great time at Union Station! I was concerned about the negative reviews I had read, but found them to be largely unwarranted. The staff was very helpful. The valet attendants were very nice and helpful with directions. The light bulb in my bathroom burnt out, and there was a maintenance man there to fix the problem in less than an hour. The rooms were large, the beds were comfortable, and the lobby was very nice. There were a few freight trains that went by during the day, but I couldn't hear them at night. Besides, you have to expect to hear at least one train when you sleep in a old train station!”

  • Our pirmary dissapointment was that they did not have a pool.

“The hotel is an elegant historical building, a former train station, within walking distance of the many dining and nightlife activities downtown. They also provide free shuttle service which is very useful. The staff was very courteous. The frequent trains that go by can by slightly disturbing, and the hotel does not have a pool. Those were the main drawbacks, but overall, we had a very enjoyable stay.”

  • Incredibly friendly and helpful staff.
  • Bathroom fixtures were falling apart.

“This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and we were thrilled to get it for the price we did. The staff was great, as was the downtown location. Our only complaint (a fairly minor one) was that the bathroom sink and shower fixtures were very loose and starting to come apart. But I am willing to overlook that given that the rest of the hotel was so beautiful. It also would have been nice to know that the only parking available was valet for $13, but again, that turned out not to be too bad. Overall we were thoroughly impressed and would definitely stay there again.”

“An interesting, fun and exquisitely convenient hotel. Valet parking will cost and additional $14 per day, but the convenience and efficiency of the parking service almost makes this a bargain. The location is ideal for downtown Nashville, the country music section, Vanderbilt and most of west Nashville -- if you have a car.”
