• Fee for wireless internet. Also, asked for family friendly restaurant and were told "Nashville is not family friendly.

“Over all a great experience for our family and friends. The staff was very friendly and the Bellman/Valet, Allen was most excellent.”

• The beds and pillows were very nice and the room was clean and the staff friendly.
• It had snowed and they did not clean the front entry.

• The rooms did not have refrigerator or microwave available.

“Several of the staff were rude, and frosty, although in the bar/restaurant the opposite was true. When I inquired about late check-out the woman at the front desk was discourteous and unhelpful.”

• Great location, Indoor Pool with Jacuzzi, Comfortable Beds.
• Little more than I wanted to pay.

“My family and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. We were walking distance away from great food and our favorited Hockey team the Nashville Predators. We enjoyed the indoor pool considering we haven't got to swim since August and we were only a short driving distance away from an ice skating rink. My wife and I had my 7 year old daughter and my 5 year old son with us. The kids absolutely loved riding the glass elevator to the upper floors. It cost a little more than I wanted to spend on a hotel but we did have an awesome time.”

• I planned to sleep until 10am but doors kept slamming at 7:30.I wanted 2 doubles, not the king I was given.

• Kind and helpful staff, beautiful rooms, fun lobby decor, lot happening in lobby.
• No dislikes.

“For a quick trip to Nashville, staying in center city is best. The Renaissance Hotel, though large, is friendly and homey. Rooms are pretty, linens scrumptious. Slept like a baby. The lobby was full of life. Interior design is interesting and fun and freshly maintained.”

“Nice place, attractive, comfortable beds, roomy bathroom. Hot water was broken, scalding in the shower & toilet, eventually fixed, but too late to shower before leaving.”

• Location was good walking distance to hockey and music.
• They charge for internet the gym was small and not very well equipped.

“Overall we liked the Renaissance but were very disappointed that we had to pay for the internet. Parking is available across the street but costs 4$ each time you go in and out. Also, they don't have do not disturb signs so the cleaning person woke us up almost every morning around 8 am and would come back every half hour to check in. The walls in the room were quite thin.”

• The bedding and pillows was very comfortable 4 stars.
• Bland floors with mediocre decoration.

“The renaissance was 4 stars, but the value was just a little less than we expected. While the lobby is nice, we have to wonder why police check people entering and leaving. The guests seemed upscale, consistent with hotel level. Our room was cozy and well appointed, but for the price we would prefer to see better toiletries, a better bathroom, a better TV, a more spacious desk, .”

• Should have bid lower.

“Staff was willing to put me into an excellent room overlooking the downtown district and Ryman auditorium. Could not ask for better accommodations, although I think I should have made a lower bid and see if I got it.”

• Downtown location next to cheap public parking, beautiful bar in bridge above street, colorful lobby furnishings.
• Made me walk down to the lobby to imprint my credit card before I could get in room; the movie was overpriced at $15.00.

• Fitness room and common areas.
• Noisy at night. Lot's of drinkers out late. I had trouble sleeping on Saturday evening.

“Staff is courteous, but not friendly. Does not go above and beyond. I had to leave at 5:30 am and asked to purchase coffee to take with me. I was told that Starbucks did not open yet and they had none. This was not true, as they have 24 hours room service, so they did have access to coffee.”

• A/C did not work well; maintenance was unable to correct.

• Convenient to downtown Nashville beds comfortable room clean.
• Lobby and main entrance under construction parking a hassle.

“A convenient location near the downtown honkytonks, the convention all and the country music hall of fame. Main entrance is currently under construction, and a main floor lounge is closed. Nice sports bar with several 60" HDTVs on the third floor with a traditional bar food menu. Cocktails are reasonably hotel priced. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. Some noise from adjacent rooms. I would stay there again.”

“The location and quality of the hotel were great. Parking was a little difficult. There was a parking garage but no in/out (full price each time you leave) and it was full during the day. Also, the hotel charges an outrageous amount for internet access ($13 per day).”

• Location is what we looked for, being close to downtown Broadway street and music.
• Needs the new heavenly beds like Marriotts have.

“Great location, next to music venues and Broadway. We enjoyed the ease of walking to and from the hotel to what we wanted to do, that was eat and listen to music. Nicely decorated, and upscale. Friendly staff.”

• The hotel felt very clean.
• The gift shop was inadequate. Way, inadequate.

“I enjoyed the Renaissance and would stay there again. The staff was friendly, and the room felt clean. The room did not, however, have a refrigerator, and the gift shop was incredibly tiny with no ice cream and only liberal magazines. The restaurant food was delicious.”

“The Renaissance Nashville offers superior service, comfort and amenities for all types of visitors. As I mentioned, the hotel is making renovations to update areas of the hotel to ensure that nothing about the hotel becomes stale or outdated. I look forward to returning to see their updated look. While the hotel rooms themselves are very reasonably priced for a hotel of this quality, some aspects of staying at the Renaissance can become a bit pricey. Parking fees in the public garage across the street can add up, especially if you come and go several times throughout the day. Valet is available, but it too is pricey at $23 per day. Room service is excellent, but comes at a price. However, neither of these small complaints are unique to hotels located in a downtown or centralized location and certainly do not effect the way I feel about this hotel. The location is probably the most fabulous part of this hotel. Getting to practically anywhere in the downtown area is only a few short steps away. The workout room is much better than most hotels I have stayed in, but could still stand a few updates to the cardio and weight machines. It is nice that an attendant is present in the workout room at all times, since I know that some single female travelers have expressed their fear of vulnerability at workout facilities in other hotels that are not monitored. This is the second time I have had the pleasure of staying at the Renaissance Nashville hotel and I believe that this most recent stay was even better than the first.”

• One shortage of lounge staff incident.

“For a convention hotel the bridge lounge table service was non-existent in mid afternoon on a sat. Patrons had to obtain service from the bar themselves and clean off their own table when first seated. To be fair this may have been an isolated incident due to staffing problems and a busy weekend. Overall an excellent hotel & location. Highly recommend.”

• The staff was very friendly and the pool area is fantastic!
• Maybe a bit higher quality restaurant, but the ones onsite were pretty good.

“We really enjoyed the friendly staff. From the moment we gave the keys to the valet until we left, the staff was top-notch. The pool area was great. The website does not do it justice. There is a large outdoor deck area for sun tanning. It was great, with little shadows until late afternoon. Room was very clean. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk from many restaurants and bars with music. Overall a great time at the Renaissance!”

• The location and view from the 19th floor were incredible.
• The room seemed a little small. No fridge.

“We had a problem with noisy neighbors hosting a party next door. Security came up twice but they just got louder and drunk. Finally, we spoke with the assistant manager & threatened to leave. The party was finally shut down at 1:30am. Ergo, paper thin walls are a problem here. However, the concierge was incredibly helpful with dining locations & directions. Also, the location is unbeatable. We were within walking distance of the country music hall of fame, the Ryman & the Broadway area bars & shops.”

• There was no water for 8 or more hours.

“Only a pasta buffet was offered at the dinner meal with few choices, and it was unreasonably expensive. The hotel was without any water (other than bottled) for 8 hours or more. There is no parking available with this hotel.”

• If you are a smoker the smoking area is right at the front door.

“Best time had in a long time --- was in the smoking area with other guests laughing until 530am.wish the smoking area did not intrude on the nonsmokers as much as its location did. Had a great time and will be going back soon.”

• The service was wonderful. Great valet service and bell boys! Friendly staff and outstanding quality rooms and beds!
• The streets to the east were not lit up very well for guest who are walking in the evening.

“This hotel way exceeded any expectations I had. The pictures do not do this hotel justice! The service was excellent! And more important the room was impeccably clean and updated! The bed was a dream! Huge soft down comforter and the best sleep I have ever gotten away from home! Location! If you are going to see the sights and go to the honky tonks, you can bet this is the place you want to stay!”

• Elevators wouldn't accommodate all guests, had to walk 14 flights down.

“Very nice, upscale. However, we stayed at an amerisuites close to the opryland and the rooms were much more luxurious with 42" plasma TV's and a suite type environment for half the price. The location of the renaissance is the main thing we were looking for so we could walk everywhere.”

• They had a church conference with hundreds of 5th thru 8th graders running all over.

“Nice hotel but we had a problem with 5th thru 8th grade kids from a church convention running all over the place and playing games with all of the elevators causing them to stop on every floor and causing delays in being able to get to your room.”

• The room & its appointments were very nice.
• It was a convention hotel - too big, too loud and too crowded.

“The staff was not consistently helpful and professional. There was a convention of 2000 teenagers there & it was loud, crowded and off-putting. The room itself, once I could finally get an elevator to take me there, was very nice - the restaurant was good, the public areas ok - I just expected a 4 star hotel & this is not one - other sites do not rate it 4 stars & you should reconsider your rating.”
