- Great location downtown. Updated rooms.
- Parking garage expensive, small, and not enough spaces.
“The first room they gave us reeked of smoke. I called the front desk and asked for another room (also told them it was ironic that there was a no smoking sign in front of the TV). The second room thankfully did not smell like a bar. Location of the hotel was nice as was the free breakfast bar. The only real gripe I have about this hotel was the parking garage. They charge $14/day to park there, and it's very cramped and difficult to maneuver your car in there. Good luck if you drive an SUV or truck.”

- Lady at the front desk at check in time was pretty unfriendly and overall acted like she hated her life, very unprofessional.

- The front desk staff was unable to provide advice/help on multiple occasions.
“The location is just on the outskirts of what is happening in downtown Nashville. For the price we could not have done better, but the front desk staff could not provide activity advice, restaurant/bar advice, nor were they any help on any occasion we asked questions. The breakfast was great, no reason to leave the hotel and go anywhere else.”

“I really enjoyed my stay at Holiday Inn. It was my birthday so a few of my friends and
I stayed there so we could enjoy Nashville because we live about 1 hour south. The hotel was very nice and it was great to have a shuttle bus to take you downtown. I have stayed there 2 other times and I have always enjoyed it.”

- There was a fair bit or remodeling being done. In my opinion, it is already overpriced. More remodeling will just make it even more overpriced.
“This was a somewhat dilapidated hotel in an excellent location to the Nashiville music scene. If one does not have the funds to stay at the more glitzy hotels of Downtown Nashville, the holiday inn Downtown is an option. Park elsewhere beforehand though.”

- The location was perfect for us and it was fairly clean.
- The hotel staff was rude and not helpful on more than one occasion.
“We really liked the location of the hotel. However, next time we visit we will stay at another hotel close by. The staff was very rude and the lotion and shampoo bottles were only half full. This told us that they did not care enough to even make it look like they weren't used. The breakfast was delicious but again the service was enough to make us not want to return.”

- Comfy beds and fresh linens. Short walk to downtown. Hot breakfast was nice.
- No clocks or trashcans in the room. $14/day parking. Employees were not very friendly. Slow elevators. Smelly hallways.
“There were things I really liked about this hotel (location/beds/hot breakfast), but it fell short of my expectations in a few ways. Customer service left something to be desired. When we arrived, we were put in a double bed room and we had previously called to ask for a King. It also just felt like no one that built/managed/owned that hotel ever sat down in a room and thought about what the typical traveler would want. In a town that revolves around tours and show times, there definitely needs to be a clock in the room. A tiny trashcan in the bathroom just didn't cut it. And my biggest pet peeve don't have signs up promoting a service if you aren't going to follow through. In the breakfast area, there was a sign that advertised "Breakfast to go and Trays Available". When I asked for the "to-go" container, I just got a blank stare. When I asked for a tray, the lady told me that they didn't have any.”

- The huge monster comfortable bed, plenty of pillows!
- Needed more coffee pods.

- Had a bad experience. All belongings were removed from room by hotel staff on second day. Food was trashed, and some items were not recovered.
“Hotel was about what was expected. Location was within walking distance of clubs. Good breakfast. Mix up with reservation, however, ruined trip. Belongings were removed from room by hotel staff while we were out. Food was thrown out and some items were not recovered. Eventually straightened out, but still pissed.”

“The hotel it self looked run down, the elevators was so slow that we had to walk the five flights almost every time and our room had an awful odor to it. The parking was also horrible. We paid for parking and when we came back to park that night, there were no open spots. They also charged me an extra $4.00 tax that they said you should have charged me. I hope to never stay there again!”

- The key card access, elevators and the wait at check-in.
“The location was great for the Sommitt Center. The room was what I expected, clean and nice. The staff was nice but the key cards didn't work multiple times, the 2 elevators were packed and we had to take the stairs often, it cost $14 to park in the hotels lot, the line at check in took 30 minutes each time we had to stand in it (3 for key cards and one to check-in) and the free breakfast that ended at 10:15am was just about empty at 9:30am. Oh yeah, the free 24 hour coffee was empty at 10:30pm.”

- It is an older hotel that has been upgraded, but you can tell it's an old hotel.
“This hotel is in an excellent location to go to the country music hall of fame, Ryman theater, and music venues in Downtown Nashville. The decor in the rooms has been updated recently but it's still obvious that is in an old hotel. (i.e.: slow elevators, no vent in the bathroom, etc.) Parking was $14 a night when we were there. Again, if we'd have stayed across the highway we wouldn't have had to pay for parking.”

“The rooms were very nice, large in size and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel was very clean; the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only fault I had was calling the shuttle driver to pick us up from downtown and him not showing. Had to walk back to the hotel (about a mile), but it was a beautiful night.”

“The parking garage really ruined my experience at this hotel. As a woman traveling alone, I would never have stayed in a hotel with a parking garage for safety reasons. Although I was led to believe there was a lot with 167 free spaced? Not true. This garage was particularly cramped & creepy. Plus, I had to pay $14 a day on top of it. The view out my window was nothing but rusted metal piping at every angle. I will not be staying at the holiday inn express downtown Nashville again. I felt mislead.”

- Shuttle service to surrounding area was limited to AM's, evenings.
“Our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was short. The room was great with the linens and varied pillow grades. The staff was very helpful with suggestions, answers to questions. The shuttle service is not that convenient. You just wait at the lobby until it comes and if it is full, tough luck. The breakfast is awesome - it's much more than a continental breakfast with fresh cinnamon rolls, hard-boiled eggs, biscuits and gravy, fruit. The location is a bit inconvenient. Not quite Downtown and not quite at Vanderbilt University.”

- The panhandlers hanging around the hotel, and the 14.00 parking fee. I think if you stay there it should be free.

- The room was clean, comfortable, and pre-cooled! Very friendly staff, too!
- No bellman and only two luggage carts. But it was a minor inconvenience.
“I was on the road for three weeks and this hotel was one of the best. I got a great price and everything about the place was top-notch. Definitely one to recommend!”

“It was a great hotel! My expectations were exceeded ten fold. The staff was great, the hotel was very comfortable and the continental breakfast served some of the best coffee I've tasted. I totally recommend the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Nashville.”

“Just a few words to praise the staff of the Holiday Inn Express, downtown Nashville, TN. My wife and I spent a week on our honeymoon and couldn't have been more pleased with the friendly smiles and politeness from the desk staff. The night manager was very helpful with directions, the shuttle, the extra towels, and the refrigerator! Never have I simply mentioned anything and received it in a matter of minutes. The cleaning staff were very efficient. Not only was the room fresh but the entire hotel was sparkling. We haven't stopped talking about it since we got home! It's a sure bet that all our friends know about this hotel.”
