• Staff was friendly and available.
• Our view was of a baracade 10 feet from the window that shielded the view, but not the sound, of major hvac equipment.

• Nice hotel room, clean and

• Parking fee was expensive.

• Accommodating concierge.
• Certain amenities were not granted.

“Overall, the hotel stay was just mediocre. At the front desk I asked where I should go for lunch and was told repeatedly that the hotel restaurant is very good, except I wanted to explore the city, not the hotel, which I expressed. Obviously, I wasn’t clear enough with my request. I will not be back. This hotel is overpriced and their customer service is mediocre at best.”

• The room was so quiet, and the bed was probably the most comfortable one we have ever had in our traveling experience.
• The cleaning service did not always leave what they were supposing to and we would have to call down to get it i.e. coffee, shower cap etc.

“We were overall pleased with our hotel. The rooms were very clean and quiet. The beds were so very comfortable, and room service did not bother us in the morning. The staff was very nice and helpful.”

• Updated and trendy.
• As compared to other 4 star hotels the service was not comparable.

“Most four-five star hotels if the guests needs any assistance, a band-aid, Tylenol, etc. The staff is more than friendly to assists. However; someone told me that I would have to wait until the gift shop opened in the morning or take my car out of valet and drive around looking for an open gas station.”

• Decor in main lobby was beautiful.
• Linens were torn, not enough staff to check in people, not relaxing. Valet parking staff was the nicest and most polite staff there.

• You have to pay to park, even when you stay at the hotel.

• Very friendly staff.
• Nickel and Dimmed you at every turn.

“Beautiful Hotel The rooms were rather small, standard tub, they had to bring a refrigerator to the room for my medicines as the one in the room is nothing but a mini-bar and no room for anything else. They had bottled water out for $5.00 each 2 full drawers of candy and chips at a very inflated price. This hotel had the best bed in any hotel I have ever stayed, but the constant charge for everything and the $22.00 surprise charge for overnight parking at the hotel lot will be more than enough to keep me from ever staying at this chain again.”

• The accommodations and the staff was excellent.
• The hotel has charges for everything. Usually there is free internet or coffee in the lobby.

“The only draw back with this hotel was that many of the typically free services were not free. Internet in the room was at least $10/day. I feel that in this day and age these services should be free. The coffee in the room was not supplied everyday.”

• Appearance.
• Hotel has a fee for anything extra.

“What a nice room and lobby etc. Very clean and very comfortable, great place to sleep. Room is nicely equipped and most of the amenities are above average quality. When my car was returned it was filthy from where they were power washing the sidewalks. When I pointed it out to the valet he said nothing and held his hand out.”

• The amenities were great- the staff was wonderful.
• The furniture in the room did not match at all. It looked like a hodgepodge rather than upscale.

“The lobby and the staff of this hotel were truly upscale. The room service was great. The decor of the hallways leading to the room and the room itself was lacking. The room furniture did not match at all and looked like hodgepodge. There was denim colored wallpaper on one wall with red lamps while black and silver furniture and a cool wide screen TV on the other. The bathroom was nice marble and the shower was great.”

• Rooms were clean, ladies at the front desk were very efficient.
• That you had to pay $21.00 for parking, at the prices they charge, should be complimentary-all inclusive!

“Nice hotel, right by college, to far to walk to downtown area, charge $21.00 to park, charge for coffee and so forth, have to pay extra if you want continental breakfast. They should at least provide coffee in rooms, especially for being 4 star and the prices they charge, we expect the normal things to be included!”

• CD player didn't work in room, there was opened wine bottle in minibar fridge and didn't release secured payment on credit card until 3 days later.

• It was pure luxury.
• No onsite pool; charge for use of the offsite pools!

“This was a very luxurious hotel and something we appreciated for our all girls family outing. However, it was rather disappointing that everything and I mean everything, was charged for, i.e. parking, internet, etc. My younger nieces were disappointed to find that there was not an onsite pool and that the ones the hotel had access to also had a charge attached. My daughter said it well: the more upscale the hotel, the less amenities for free!”

“I was very pleased that the hotel had vegan options on their menu. As a vegetarian, it is often hard to find vegan/vegetarian items in a city. The concierge also recommended several restaurants that served vegetarian food. The hotel was beautiful and very modern!”

• Beautiful lobby with marble entrance.
• 3 star hotel that did not have pool or bar (had a lounge).

“Great hotel. Very beautiful entry in lobby. Slow check in, but it was one of the busiest days of the year, so understandable. No pool is a downfall for any 4 star, but everything else was beautiful! Would certainly stay again no doubt.”

“We were in town for a concert and wanted to walk to LP field. According to a map with walking directions it was only 2.5 miles, but I do believe it was further. Thank goodness we took a taxi! Hotel is a very nice place - clean, friendly staff and lots of room! Second floor - no view though!”

• No small fridge for personal use, only minibar.

“I thought the hotel's location was excellent, right off the highway, and close enough to Downtown that is was a short cab ride, or a longer walk. The parking was $20/day, but that's average for a city hotel. It was convenient that you could use your hotel key to swipe in and out of the garage whenever you wanted. The room was your typical 4 star room with comfortable beds, nice linen, flat screen TV, a few chairs, desk, and bathroom. They were responsive to anything we needed and the staff was polite.”

“This hotel is a typical business class hotel - Clean with friendly staff. The rooms are certainly nice enough, but not particularly special. The distance from the Downtown area requires that you drive to most restaurants and other attractions.”

“The hotel is very elegant, and this was carried through into the room. Everything was top of the line. The locations is very convenient to Vanderbilt University, but not to the main part of downtown (for walking).”

• Excellent reception staff; decent parking around the hotel; not far from downtown.
• After two phone calls, they never came to fix the safety deposit box in our room!

“Great luxury for the price we paid. Might have been nicer to stay downtown, but it was a beautiful location not far away by the university. Tons of restaurants and street parking in the area. Comfortable room with soft sheets. Very nice reception staff though did not respond quickly to fix the safety deposit box in our room that was out of battery.”

• The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
• The check in clerk indicated we would be charged $19.50 for parking when there was a sign indicating the parking was free that night.

• The staff were all very friendly and efficient.
• Small rooms trash cans still full. Food sitting outside room when we arrived. Small beds.

“I like the location of this hotel. I have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels and this one was disappointing. I didn't like having to pay an additional $25.00 per day to park (valet), $19.00 per day self. My daughter opened a bottled water in the room and that ended up costing $6.01. Everything you touch cost extra. We were almost afraid to touch the towels. Service was great. I would not stay there again.”

• $19 per day parking & the gate never closed! Receptionist was very rude!

“If you have to bring pets, there's no better place to stay. However, this hotel is full of surprise expenses and the location is no where near the downtown scene of Nashville. It's not 4 star rating!”

• Customer service was excellent, just as it should be.
• Apparently they had smoking rooms, so we had to wait for a non-smoking room. Would prefer complete non-smoking hotel.

“From the time I pulled up in my car until I checked out, I was treated like they were sincerely glad I was there. Excellent customer service! My only complaint was that because had to wait to check into a non-smoking room, I needed to check my bags in with the bellman. The wait was so long, I ended up just leaving the bags in a corner unattended. Other than that, the stay was wonderful! I would definitely recommend!”

• The room/decor had the feeling of a home rather than a hotel.
• I was charged over $20 to park for a less than 24 hours stay.

“Loews's Vanderbilt Plaza Hotel is a gorgeous hotel in a great location across from Vanderbilt University. It has a vintage yet full modern feel and the rooms are very inviting with soothing colors and wonderful bedding/linens. Another great feature is the later-than-normal checkout of noon. This would be the ideal hotel for business or leisure travel.”
