“This was one of the worst rooms. The room was filthy, we stayed less than half and hour.” Apr 23, 2009 by
Donnie from New Carlisle,OH
“We have stayed at this place 3 other times and was very nice. Carpet was very dirty, no toilet paper when we checked in very late at night, sheets were for king size bed and we had regular beds, we had to hunt the cleaning person down to get fresh towels the next day. Very unhappy with my stay, also called ahead to make sure they knew we had a pet and ask they try and put our room close to my son's room as he was checking in earlier that day and they completely put us on opposite sides of the building. Very disappointed.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Cathy from Linefork, KY
“I was sick from the room they gave me. I went in and explained that I was afraid to take my shoes off or even let my child stay there. I had to pay extra dollar per night to stay in a suite that reeked of smoke. The carpet was somewhat cleaner but I hope to never have to stay there again.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Noel from Louisville, KY
“The tower is extra. There was an 8 in square hole cut in the blinds, which would have been fine, but we were on the first floor facing the parking lot. We turned back the covers to find two live roaches in the bed. The beds had no blankets, since they were stripped to give to the rooms that were sleeping 6 to a room. You are left with a sheet and a bedspread. Besides the tower, this hotel should be bulldozed.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Tammy from Pewee Valley, KY
“The hotel said it had a continental breakfast but only served coffee and orange juice. For the price, the hotel was reasonable, but if I go back to Pigeon Forge, I would not stay again. It's at the end of the strip so it's too far to walk to any attractions.” Jul 9, 2008 by
James from Pelzer, SC
“It was nice as long as you stay in towers. We called hotel and up graded to towers. Old section was not so nice. Make sure you ask for towels.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Barbara from Granite Falls, NC
“I have stayed at this hotel before in the newer part and it was fine. The older part is out of date and needs to be re done.” Aug 13, 2007 by
Kelly from Ellisville, MS
“I have stayed at this hotel before. The first time we stayed in a regular room, this time we stayed in a suite. For the money, go for the suite. It only cost a little more. It is very nice. Everyone was friendly. We will stay there again!” Sep 8, 2006 by
Delbert from Weaverville, NC
“From the brochure I was under the assumption we were in the suites. It was very deceptive. The room were straightened every day and beds made. However there was a dead bug in our bathroom when we arrived and it was there when we left. I do not believe we will return.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 6, 2006 by

“This hotel billed my credit card after I paid cash in the hotel. We originally were staying at the GRAND which by the way is NOT GRAND. The grand was having electrical issues so we asked for our money back and they refused to give any refund so they sent us over to smoky mountain shadows which was OK but not still not what we were accustomed to. I booked the Grand over the internet and it looked GREAT in the pictures!! Reality is much DIFFERENT” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 17, 2006 by

“First room offered was a smoking room which was filthy. Second room was cleaner but needed updated. Extreme amount of noise in the hallways, especially at night.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 9, 2006 by

“They have 2 different facilities. A brand new one (that they used for the description of the place I would the staying). The other facility was an old, dirty, and ran down. I got stuck in that one. ” Jul 31, 2006 by
Steve from Nashville, NC
“Room was dirty. There was a pair of underwear left in the drawers--not sure if they were dirty or clean. Air condition unit was incredibly loud. Constantly had to ask for additional towels and wash cloths. Hotel allowed some traveling evangelist to setup in their courtyard and blast out poorly sung gospel music--even louder than the AC unit--until after 11:30 pm and I had small children I was trying to get to sleep by 10:00 pm.” Jul 31, 2006 by
Mina from Donalsonville, GA
“All in all not a very bad hotel. Would probably stay again if in area.” Jul 21, 2006 by
Michael from Rogersville, TN
“The rooms were deceiving from the pictures online. The free breakfast was stale little Debbie cakes. Hotel receptionist walked around lobby without shoes. Worst stay we every experienced in a hotel. Loud singing that went on both nights until 11:30 pm. We had to change rooms twice. The first one was a smoking room and we had reserved nonsmoking. The second one had a leak from the room above it that flooded the bathroom.” Jul 15, 2006 by
Cindy from Easley, SC
“This hotel was adequate. It was in a great location, however, the room did not meet our expectations. The carpeted floor continuously got wetter due to a faulty air conditioner. We were not even allowed to check in on time because our room wasn't ready. The pools were both dirty, cloudy, and over chlorinated. The complimentary coffee wasn't always fresh when it was even brewed. The mini-fridge was dirty. The shower would not stay a continuous temperature as well as the shower heads being too low to be effective for anyone over 4'5". The stay was only saved by our families intent on having a good time. And We did.” Jul 6, 2006 by
Greg A. from Allen, KY
“The photo shows a new building with private balconies and that is what I was expecting. There is such a building here, but it is separate from the building we stayed in and much more expensive. Our building was very outdated, musty and not comfortable.” Jul 5, 2006 by
Donna from Douglasville, GA
“Could stand some remodeling in lobby. Otherwise was a nice place to stay.” Jul 2, 2006 by
Diane from Woodlawn, VA
“Nice staff , rooms were ok and clean but they were not as advertised very, very small pool and only a few suites had balcony. On the river don't be fooled by the pictures.” Jun 21, 2006 by
Steven from Hilliard, OH
“An OK motel with adequate rooms. Nice pools and setting. Convenient to local attractions.” Jun 15, 2006 by
Theresa from Humboldt, TN
“When I arrived I was given smoking rooms and I am a non-smoker they were very helpful in finding me something else in fact they gave me a room with a Jacuzzi and no additional charge. My name is Theresa Brown this survey is addressed to Kelly just thought you might want to know that.” Jun 14, 2006 by
Tony from Decatur, TN
“The rooms were very nice and spacious. The hotel had Gospel singing the night we arrived and my wife and I enjoyed that very much! The only thing that we didn't like, was that the pool wasn't filtering out the tiny bugs, grass, etc. out of the pool. Another hotel guests child had thrown some food in the pool, my wife and I took our girls and got out of the pool and went back to our room. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.” Jun 9, 2006 by
Bessie from Bristol, TN
“when we arrived there was trash and laundry in trash bags at the front door there was a new section that was built on that looked nicer than the part we stayed in. The outside pool was not heated. They served snack cakes for breakfast no milk for the kids. we will not be staying at this hotel again.” Jun 2, 2006 by
James from Pelzer, SC
“Smoky Shadows is an older hotel, but in very good condition. Our room was spacious and had 2 king-size beds. We also had a private balcony overlooking the pool. It's location is great, right on the Pigeon River, and within walking distance of many attractions. It's less than 10 minutes to Hollywood. We were very happy with the price, the service, and the location, and will most likely stay at the Smoky Shadows again.” May 31, 2006 by
Hazel from Mt. Juliet, TN
“We really enjoyed our last two stays at this hotel, the staff was very friendly and professional. Will go back again.” May 30, 2006 by
David from Belton, TX
“There was numerous lodging available and lower rates, that could have been obtained on my own. Sadly there were much nicer places that could have been obtained a much lower prices on my own. ” May 24, 2006 by
Beverly from Liberty, NC
