• Great location. Great, friendly staff. Room was small for most places, but average sized for NYC.
• It was very expensive, but near excellent in every respect.

“Great hotel. Exceptional staff from concierge to cleaning staff to registration. Beautiful rooftop bar. Excellent location. Some say the rooms are small, but to me they are NYC sized. Most hotels in NY have smaller rooms than those elsewhere.”

• The comfort of the room!

“This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Of course like any hotel in NY it is quite pricey but I feel the comfort, the attentive staff and the roof top bar definitely make up for the price. The room was extremely comfortable, and I could have spend the entire day in the bathroom, but that would have meant I would have missed out on the hassle and buzzle of Soho.”

• The hotel was hip, vibrant, fun, and had great rooms, restaurants and bar.
• Between bartenders, hostess staff and concierge, the experience felt a little elitist.

“The ambiance, setting and decor scream New York Chic. The rooms are clean, adequately sized, with very comfortable linens, towel and robes. The bathroom is big for a New York hotel and the bath products are exquisite. Service is hit or miss; clerk, bartenders, wait staff and bellman were exceptional, on site host and concierge left room for improvement. Overall, the hotel provided an excellent experience.”

• This hotel was hip! It had amazing energy and it was fun to stay at.
• I can not think of anything that I did not like about this hotel.

“The hotel staff is extremely friendly but they are also competent. They do what they say they will do and they do it cheerfully and happily. The room that I was in had an amazing view and the window could be opened so you could feel the fresh spring air. The Thom Bar in the lobby was a very cool and happening place - excellent to arrange a business drink at and impress your clients. The Kittiwakes restaurant food was very good and the decor was beautiful yet understood. Everyone from the door men - bell hops, concierge, and front desk personnel were kind and genuinely nice. I would love to stay at 60 Thompson again and again.”

• Modern decor, stylish lounge and restaurant and good looking staff.
• The building was built on cheap so we could hear doors closing, people talking and the worst, bathroom flashing over your head.

“Do not recommend it if you are sensitive to noises for you can hear bathroom flashing, people talking and door closing in the hall way. If you are not sensitive to the noise or plan to party till the morning, it is a nice hotel in a cool location. Staff is good looking and friendly, and the decor is modern and sleek.”

• It was trendy, reasonably priced with excellent bar + restaurant close to w. Village.
• If you did not use valet, parking would be next to impossible.

“This hotel is a great value no compromise needed we plan to book at least one weekend each month! Friendly staff great food within walking distance to clubs, shops, almost anything.”

• I liked the decor.
• I did not like that there was not a hair dryer in the room.

• Smaller rooms.

“This hotel was fantastic. The room was very modern and the bathroom was beautiful. My expectations were exceeded. The Thai restaurant at the hotel was absolutely amazing! We ate there every night. The staff and atmosphere of the hotel is a little on the hip side, so make sure to wear your nice suit or designer jeans when you enter the hotel :).”

“The 60 Thompson is as hip and trendy as it is cool and under the radar. It has one of the coolest roof top bars that downtown have to offer; it is romantic & cozy with an amazing straight shot view of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.”

“Overall this was a nice hotel. The room was small but comfortable. We really liked the bathroom with the double headed shower. The room was a little noisy since we could hear other guests and cleaning staff. The features were modern and very artistic.”

• Modern, upscale, small, but cozy, clean, safe, and great location.

“If you like clean, modern, quiet boutique hotels; then 60 Thompson is the place for you! It's not a huge room, but who needs a big hotel room when you have NYC right outside? It has all the amenities you need (including free wireless internet) and access to the rooftop pool and bar. I had a very comfortable sleep on the king sized bed, and the bathroom, though small, was beautifully designed.”

• Pricey, but that is expected.

“The rooftop bar is a must. Also close to Felix which was a good bar. The room was clean and very functional. I would definitely use this hotel again, I like the area.”

• Staff was s bit snobbish when we asked to extend our stay.

• The staff (save for the bellboys) was atrocious. Rooms noisy and tiny (even for NYC).

“I've stayed at some of the "finest" hotels in New York, including the Ritz, Four Seasons, TriBeca Grand, The Muse, SoHo Grand, St. Regis. Some were obviously better than others. But I will tell you unequivocally that 60 Thompson is nothing more than a "want to be" "poser" little hotel. The worst of the worst. First the good: We loved the bellboys! Now the awful: The front desk staff had a condescending, superior, "too hip for you" attitude that made for an exceedingly unpleasant arrival and stay. I've come to expect that kind of vibe from the staff at these boutique hotels, but these women took it to a whole new level. No smile, no eye contact, no help. All their energy was directed at trying to make the guest feel unworthy of them and the hotel. They were almost comical. The room (mine was a king deluxe) was teeny. Again, something I've come to expect from boutique hotels. But come on! I'd take a cot at the Y over this room. And the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Beyond that, every little hiccup could be heard from the adjoining room and hallway- paper thin walls. I could continue with all the things that were wrong with this place, but instead I'll sum up: If you read a good review of 60 Thompson, ignore it. It must have been written by one of the hotel employees. I mean it. I would never stay here again. For any rate. Under any circumstances.”

• The staff was incredibly friendly, and very accommodating!
• Beautiful rooftop bar, but a little overly trendy and the plastic wine glasses were not so great!

“Modern, yet reserved oasis in Soho with good sized rooms and comfortable beds. The bathroom was spacious with one of the best showers I have experienced in New York. Abundant shopping, dining and activities within a few blocks.”

• It was in a quiet neighborhood that was still very accessible by metro.
• There wasn't anything that was a problem.

“The hotel is in a wonderful location. It's off the main drag and offers peace and quiet yet is very close to the metro making sightseeing very easy. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the staff were very helpful. The hotel has a very comfortable lounge area to relax in on a raining day and a gorgeous restaurant. I would highly recommend Sixty Thompson.”

• Bed was hard to sleep in. Body ache in the morning.

“We had 2 rooms and 3 person per room. This hotel could not accommodated 3 person. They only had one queen size bed. No room for roll on or cots. It is good hotel but only for single or couples.”

“Prime location, in the heart of SoHo and close to the subway. The 2nd floor bar is nice but the rooftop bar doesn't open until May 2006 (for the summer months). The rooms were large and clean and a great bathroom.”

• The furniture and TV were in need of repair.

“I pulled up in front of the hotel and 3 handsome young men clad in navy pea coats with Bluetooth headsets were immediately outside my car. They swept my belongings away and directed me to check in. The room was comfortable, though the dresser drawers did not close properly and the TV had some problems with certain channels. The bathroom was palatial for New York. It was in a fabulous location for romantic walks through Soho. The concierge was delightful and very helpful throughout our stay.”

• I put this up there with my top 3 hotel stays ever... and I travel A LOT - FANTAASTIC hotel and staff!!! A +++
• There seemed to be some noise and what sounded like constructions sounds outside my room in the late morning hours - probably the cleaning staff.

• Too "cool" for real people.

“For Manhattan, the room was spacious (although shower, no tub). Everything was new and clean. Service people were friednly and tried to be helpful, even though they missed a few "facts" enquired about.”
